Chapter 24: What is this guy trying to do?
"Their life signs are rather weak and appears to be in huge numbers."
"Could be it be... Killer Ants."
Having made his decision, Sion headed toward the direction of the Killer Ant swarm.
Killer Ants were weak individually, but together in a group?
They were deadly.
Furthermore, Killer Ants possessed a unique characteristic: If given the time to react before they died, they'd emit a high frequency scream that only other Killer Ants could hear.
At that point, the adventurer would face a monster horde.
"Perfect timing. I need to test the power of Shockwave."
While the basic spell was a magic Shockwave, its advanced form was similar to Alfia's magic.
Shockwaves generated by sound were powerful and consumed very little Mind.
They could be used for single target or AOE attacks by controlling their dispersion.
Its power was naturally incomparable to Alfia's Satanas Verion, but this was still just an ADVANCED FORM equivalent to an elemental Vacuum Bullet, as defined by Sion.
"Wind Revolving Bullet."
Five circular blades of wind hovered around Sion's body.
With his Sonar Detection pulsing continuously, Sion fought his way through and arrived at the very center of the Killer Ant swarm.
Looking at these hideous monsters, which were densely packed together, Sion couldn't help but get goosebumps.
"Shockwave: Silence."
The moment the magic was cast, Sion's hearing cut out for a split second, as if a vacuum had formed around him.
Centered on Sion's body, a deadly attack was unleashed within a ten meter radius.
A shockwave, almost visible to the naked eye, rippled outward, wiping out the surrounding Killer Ants.
In an instant, more than a dozen or twenty Killer Ants were eliminated.
Countless magic stones dropped to the ground, and the bodies closest to Sion completely turned to ash.
"My Mind is being depleted too quickly. I cannot withstand spamming a wide-range attack..."
Sion stretched his limbs.
This wave of attacks had consumed a significant amount of his Mind. He could only unleash an attack of this caliber a maximum of five times.
But that was already astonishing. His Mind capacity was no less than that of a level 2 adventurer specializing as a mage.
And Sion hadn't even received Falna yet.
Over his 20+ days of training, Sion's Mind capacity had increased 5x, making it roughly equivalent to a Magic stat of around 300.
And this was not the limit of his growth. He was currently in a period of rapid development, and his Mind capacity increased significantly almost everyday.
"This guy..."
Adventurers possessed keen senses, so the Hera Familia member shadowing him heard Sion's humblebragging from quite a distance.
"He nearly gave me a heart attack when he suddenly charged straight into that swarm of Killer Ants."
She clutched her chest, looking pained. A civilian without a Falna was wreaking havoc in a swarm of monsters.
Sion hadn't even broken a sweat, but she was already overwhelmed with anxiety.
What if something happened to him? How would she ever face Meteria?
However, it was clear she had been making a big fuss over nothing.
"That idiot Meteria, she really did not tell me anything about this..."
She muttered to herself. Seeing Sion head even deeper into the Dungeon, she quickly followed behind him.
Just what level of capability was he hiding?
The Hera Familia member protecting Sion unconsciously felt a strong sense of anticipation.
On the tenth floor, a new monster appeared.
Orc.
It was a massive, green faced monster standing three meters tall, built like a giant wall of muscles.
The environment was shrouded in white fog with tall trees standing upright.
The Orcs would uproot these trees and use them as their weapons, hence this area was a sort of domain to them.
"Next up are some interesting test subjects."
The monsters on the first nine floors were mostly small and weak.
Even an ordinary adult civilian could kill one if they possessed a weapon and the courage to fight.
"Here they come."
Sion looked ahead.
A deafening roar resounded as an enormous Orc uprooted a tree from the ground, wielding it as a massive weapon.
Sion raised his hand, and used Revolving Bullet.
He then charged toward the Orc.
He easily evaded the bulky Orc's swinging arm, controlled the blade of wind to circle around its neck, and decapitated it.
Two more large bullets were unleashed, cleanly severing another Orc in half at the waist.
Evaluating the physical toughness of the Orcs, Sion finally made a rough calculation of the difference between the two sides.
By simply enlarging a regular wind blade by about three times, it could sever an Orc's neck with ease.
More importantly, his casting speed was extremely fast.
After this period of training, Sion's offensive spells had essentially reached Level 2.
No, it would be more accurate to say that only a level 2 or more can fight Sion, otherwise they'd most likely be defeated.
This was because his attacks were practically instantaneous.
There was no chant, no wind-up, and no recovery time.
An attack could be launched the very moment he willed it.
"Time for the second experiment."
Sion walked casually toward another Orc, closing the distance until they were face to face.
What is this guy trying to do?
Seeing Sion's seemingly suicidal actions, the girl watching him grew anxious.
She was ready to intervene at any moment, when suddenly, a sound echoed from his side.
