So, when her father fully recovered and returned to their hometown with her mother, leaving her, the house, and the grocery store entirely in Shi Yang’s family’s care, Zhao Meimei readily accepted it. As long as either her parents or Shi Yang were around, she felt as though she was never really separated from family.

Zhao Dazhuang, before boarding the train, his face flushed from drinking, grabbed Shi Yang’s father’s arm and sighed, "I can see clearly now, my daughter is born and raised for your Yangyang; she’s like a little ingrate, purely devoted to your Yangyang, disregarding her own father."

Shi Yang’s mother laughed upon hearing this and replied without hesitation, "Then we’re truly like one big family, how nice."
