Chapter 483: Kushida: I've Got a Bone to Pick with Horikita Suzune
Suzune glared at Hakuto. “What are you doing!”
Hakuto glanced at her and said calmly, “My possessiveness is very strong. I hope you understand one thing: from now on, the most important man in your life is me, not anyone else. If you don’t understand, I don’t mind using some actions to make you understand.”
“You’re despicable!”
“If you think I’m despicable, then I can also give up on the exchange with you. I can cancel the deal between us.”
Suzune snorted but didn’t speak again. She certainly knew that if she refused, the consequence would be that her brother would be killed by Hakuto.
“I don’t expect you to fall in love with me, but I hope you understand that I must be the most important man in your life.”
Suzune shot Hakuto a fierce look. “I understand!”
“Keep training. I’ll find a teacher for you. If you can gain her recognition, that means you’ll have the qualifications to hunt down the killer.”
Hakuto planned to hand Kushida and Suzune over to Kikyo to teach. With Kikyo’s ability, teaching them would be more than simple.
“Wait here. I’ll go ask.”
Although he wanted to hand Suzune and Kushida over to Kikyo, it still depended on whether she was willing. If not, Hakuto naturally wouldn’t force her.
Arriving at the shrine, Hakuto told Kikyo about Suzune and Kushida.
After learning about them, Kikyo didn’t refuse.
“It’s fine. But bring them to see me first. If they can pass my test, then I can let them study by my side. However, if they fail, they might be in danger of losing their lives. You can explain this to the two girls and ask if they still want to take the test.”
Hakuto glanced at Kikyo. He hadn’t expected such a condition, but he nodded.
“No problem. I’ll tell them about this. Then it’ll be up to them to decide.”
“But whatever you do, don’t go easy on them!”
“Don’t worry. Not only will I not go easy on them, I’ll be even more strict.”
Looking at Hakuto, Kikyo assured him.
Hearing this response, Hakuto went back and told Kushida and Suzune.
Kushida and Suzune fell silent upon hearing that there might be danger to their lives. Kushida hesitated a bit. After all, unlike Suzune, she didn’t have something she was determined to do.
There was no need to risk her life to pass someone’s test.
“It seems you’ve made the right choice.”
Seeing that neither Suzune nor Kushida spoke, Hakuto assumed they were preparing to give up. But he hadn’t expected that just as he finished speaking, Suzune said to him, “I’m willing to take the test.”
Hakuto nodded, then looked at Kushida. “What about you? Are you willing to take the test, or are you giving up?”
A twisted expression appeared on Kushida’s face. She looked at Suzune as if she were looking at some kind of enemy, almost as if she would come to blows with her directly.
Then Kushida looked at Hakuto. “I’ll take it too.”
Even if she died, she couldn’t lose to that bitch Horikita Suzune!
Hakuto looked at Kushida. He really couldn’t figure out what kind of grudge or resentment there was between her and Suzune to make her want to target her like this.
And she was even willing to risk her life rather than be compared unfavorably to Suzune. Hakuto wouldn’t believe it if there wasn’t some deep-seated hatred between the two.
But since both Kushida and Suzune had decided to go, Hakuto opened the Anywhere Door. “Then let’s go.”
After stepping through, the several of them arrived at Grand Narukami Shrine.
After Hakuto introduced them, Suzune and Kushida met Kikyo. Knowing that they would be training under her from now on, they felt somewhat complicated.
“Then you’ll stay here to train. When you pass Kikyo’s test, she’ll notify me.”
After saying this to the two, Hakuto left alone.
Kikyo looked at the two before her. “You both have diary copies, so I’ll be direct with you. I won’t go easy on you just because you have diary copies. On the contrary, I’ll be even more strict with you. If you’re unwilling to accept this, you can still back out now.”
Neither Kushida nor Suzune spoke. As long as Suzune didn’t give up, Kushida absolutely would not give up.
Suzune wanted to avenge her brother, so she absolutely could not give up.
“Since you don’t intend to give up, then follow me. Change your clothes.”
After having Suzune and Kushida change into Miko outfits, Kikyo led them to a waterfall. “Stand under the waterfall and withstand the torrent of the waterfall.”
Kushida’s expression changed. “You want us to stand under the waterfall and withstand its torrent? Are you sure this won’t kill us?”
“I told you from the beginning that this could be deadly. Did I not make myself clear, or did you not hear properly?”
The expression on Kushida’s face stiffened slightly. She clearly remembered that Kikyo had already warned them that it could be deadly.
“Cover the surface of your bodies with your spiritual power and resist the impact of the waterfall.”
Kikyo glanced at Kushida, then continued on her own, “Now, get up there.”
Suzune gritted her teeth and walked over.
Seeing Suzune go, Kushida, unwilling to lose to her, followed.
Watching the two grit their teeth and bear the torrent of the waterfall, Kikyo nodded slightly with satisfaction.
Although both had impure motives, Kikyo didn’t mind.
But Suzune and Kushida were now bearing immense pressure. The water crashing down from the waterfall weighed at least tens to hundreds of kilograms. The two were mere mortals; how could they possibly withstand it?
