The Heroines Can Read My Secret Diary

Chapter 383 Mouri Ran: Hakuto is Surprisingly Quite Nice

Eri felt like a small boat in a storm, constantly battered by the wind and rain, until finally, this small boat was completely destroyed in the storm.

No one knew how much time had passed before Eri regained consciousness. She looked at Hakuto and asked, "Is it over?"

Hakuto rolled his eyes and said to Eri, "Not even close. What you need is the essence of life, not this kind of physical satisfaction. Understand?"

Eri: ...

Thinking about how last time she had dislocated her jaw just to barely get the essence of life, and now this time, Eri couldn't help but cover her forehead.

In the end, Hakuto and Eri stayed in the hotel for over four hours before walking out. But as soon as they exited the hotel, they saw Ran waiting outside.

Seeing Ran, a flicker of embarrassment passed across Hakuto's face. Similarly, Eri hadn't expected to see Ran outside the hotel. A flicker of embarrassment also crossed her face. But then, Eri said to Hakuto, "You go first. I'll explain to Ran."

Hakuto nodded. At a time like this, he really should leave first, to avoid making both Ran and Eri feel awkward.

So, Hakuto left first. Ran didn't try to stop him. After Hakuto left, Ran looked at Eri. "Mom..."

"It's exactly what you saw. Hakuto and I are dating."

Ran's eyes finally showed disbelief. Her expression as she looked at Eri was shocked beyond measure.

Seeing this expression on Ran, a bitter smile rose in Eri's heart. Then, she said to Ran, "Come on, let's have a good talk."

After saying this, Eri pulled Ran away, so Ran could only follow her.

After the two arrived at a café, Eri said to Ran, "I didn't want to tell you this so soon. But earlier on the cruise ship, Kaito Kid disguised as you and got too close to Hakuto, which made me think about this matter. So, I might as well just tell you now."

Ran Mouri looked at her mother. "Why?"

She couldn't understand why her mother had gotten together with Hakuto, who was the same age as her.

"It's very hard to explain this kind of thing. Besides, part of the reason I'm with Hakuto is due to certain circumstances. And because of certain circumstances, I need to be with Hakuto now."

Ran looked at her mother as if she were a stranger. Ran couldn't understand why her mother had become like this.

"Ran, now that you know about my relationship with Hakuto, stay away from him from now on. I don't want anything to happen between you and Hakuto."

Ran looked at her mother, then said with a complex expression, "I never had any feelings for Hakuto anyway. At most, I just think Hakuto is a decent person."

Hearing Ran's evaluation, Eri laughed out loud. "You think Hakuto is a decent person? That just shows you don't understand Hakuto at all. And that's a good thing."

After reading the diary, Eri knew just how cruel Hakuto was. The blood on his hands was enough to form a sea that could submerge all of Japan. Yet, someone like that was being evaluated by Ran as "not bad"?

But then again, now that Hakuto had these girls he liked, he had restrained himself. Otherwise, Ran would probably be scared to death. All of Japan would probably have been killed by Hakuto by now.

Thinking about the murderous intent in Hakuto's diary, wanting to completely eliminate the Restoration Society by massacring all of Japan, Eri found it somewhat amusing that someone like that was being called a decent person.

Looking at her foolish daughter, Eri smiled and said, "Don't be prejudiced against Hakuto from now on. I know you've always wanted to reconcile me with Kogoro, but Ran, there are some things you don't know, so don't keep meddling."

Ran nodded bitterly. Now that things had come to this, what else could Ran do?

Her mother was with Hakuto. Was she supposed to break them up?

How unfair would that be to her mother? Ran wanted her parents to reconcile, but she didn't want either of her parents to suffer unfairly because of it.

If her father found another woman, Ran wouldn't do that either. The only reason she had always wanted to get her father and mother back together was because they were both single.

Now that her mother had a new boyfriend, Ran naturally wouldn't have such thoughts anymore.

Looking at Ran, Eri said to her, "Are you still liking Kudo Shinichi? Are you still looking for him?"

Ran looked at Eri, opening her mouth wanting to say something but unable to get the words out.

Eri had told Ran before to stay away from Shinichi. But had Ran listened? Not at all. After Shinichi disappeared, she had constantly been looking for him.

Seeing Ran like this, Eri couldn't help but shake her head. "Ran, if I told you that Edogawa Conan is Kudo Shinichi, would you believe me?"

Ran's eyes suddenly widened, looking at Eri in disbelief.

"Kudo Shinichi was poisoned by a mysterious organization. The poison didn't kill Kudo Shinichi. Instead, it rejuvenated him and turned him into Edogawa Conan. Haven't you noticed at all? Some of Edogawa Conan's actions are not like an elementary school student. And he goes wherever there's a murder case. Don't you think that's exactly like Kudo Shinichi's personality?"

Ran felt as if she had been struck by lightning. Her mind kept playing back images of Kudo Shinichi. Then, gradually, those images completely merged with images of Conan.

"Do you know why I opposed Edogawa Conan moving into the Mouri House? It's because I didn't want him to bring any danger to you."

Eri looked at Ran seriously, 'That brat Kudo Shinichi better stay away from my daughter!'
