Chapter 269 Jesus Hanged Upside Down, Madonna Turned Demon
"Haku doesn't value blood ties because of his own background. So you expect him to let go of a brother you have no feelings for just because of blood?"
"What about my mother? He even wanted to..."
"He didn't act, did he? And essentially, it was because of you, Erina. He did it for you. Just like this time, it was for Sonoka-senpai and that Tifa."
Alice looked at Erina. "Don't throw a tantrum, Erina. I don't want things to be unpleasant between you and Haku. And Haku really would delete your memories. I can feel it."
Hearing this, Erina gritted her teeth in frustration, but had nowhere to vent. Alice glanced at her and then said, "And Erina, don't you think this is also a sign of Haku's love for you?"
"Is that love? That's clearly possessiveness. If he really liked me, he wouldn't do things like this."
Looking at the exasperated Erina, Alice rolled her eyes. "If one day Haku's possessiveness over you disappears, will you be happy about it, Erina?"
Without waiting for Erina's reaction, Alice continued, "Haku doesn't know how to love others. So the best he can do is keep the people he loves from any threat or harm."
Looking at her cousin, a strange expression appeared on Erina's face. "You sound like you know Hakuto so well?"
"Haku can understand me, so naturally I can understand Haku. And I know better than Erina how to make Haku happy."
For a moment, Erina wondered if this was really her childish cousin.
While Erina was questioning her existence, Hakuto was extremely anxious at that moment. Not long after Erina and the others left, Hakuto received a call from Megumi. But what Hakuto never expected was that Megumi was calling for help.
Megumi was in danger. Hakuto could only tell Teiji, who was driving, to speed up.
"Drive faster. I want to reach our destination in ten minutes. If someone's in the way, run them over. If there's a car, ram it."
Teiji, who was driving, didn't dare to argue. He could tell that Hakuto was like a volcano about to erupt. He pressed the gas pedal all the way to the floor. Relying on his transformed Deep One reflexes and physical abilities, Teiji managed to avoid getting into an accident.
After rushing as fast as they could, Teiji managed to reach the location Megumi specified within ten minutes. Hakuto kicked the car door open and charged into the church.
After kicking the church doors open, Hakuto saw Megumi huddled in a corner, hugging her knees. Hakuto went straight to her side.
"Megumi, I'm here."
Seeing Hakuto, a flash of fear passed through Megumi's eyes, but she still looked at Hakuto warily. Hakuto didn't approach.
"Megumi?"
[That's strange. Why is Megumi looking at me with such wariness?]
Although confused, Hakuto didn't rush forward. Instead, he said softly to Megumi, "I'm here. Don't worry, no one can hurt you anymore."
Hakuto's diary finally convinced Megumi that he was the real Hakuto. She immediately threw herself into Hakuto's arms. Holding Megumi, Hakuto felt her body still trembling slightly and felt a pang of sympathy.
Although he was furious inside, Hakuto still comforted Megumi. "There, there, I'm here. It's safe. Everything is safe."
Feeling the warmth of Hakuto's embrace, Megumi's trembling body gradually calmed down. After about ten minutes, Megumi finally calmed completely and gently pushed herself away from Hakuto's body.
Hakuto let go of Megumi and then asked her, "What exactly happened?"
Hakuto glanced at the church, and then his pupils contracted slightly. The crucifix of Jesus the Son of God had been turned upside down, and the statue of the Virgin Mary had been turned into a ferocious and ugly demon.
'Jesus hanged upside down? Madonna turned demon?'
For a moment, Hakuto looked at this church, a grave expression on his face. Suddenly, Hakuto felt a slight pain in his body. Then he saw that Megumi's pupils had turned black. Her delicate, pretty face was covered in black cracks. Her eye sockets had turned black, and the whites and pupils within her eye sockets had both become pitch black.
At that moment, Megumi was holding a piece of broken glass, stabbing it into Hakuto's body. Seeing Hakuto looking at her, she revealed an evil smile.
"Get the hell out of Megumi's body!!!"
Hakuto's rage was instantly ignited. He pressed his finger against Megumi's forehead. Instantly, a figure surrounded by black mist was separated from Megumi's body. That figure seemed to be sent flying.
Black mist immediately erupted from Hakuto's body, restraining that figure.
Only then did Hakuto get a clear look at what that thing was.
It was a female demon. Her face was just like what Hakuto had seen earlier—black eye sockets and eyeballs, a face covered in cracks, looking utterly terrifying. But at that moment, Hakuto's eyes held only rage and killing intent.
"You deserve to die!"
Hakuto's hand squeezed the air, and the female demon's body began to be compressed.
"Ahhh, Lord Satan will avenge me!"
Hearing this, Hakuto revealed a cold smile. "Satan? Let him come."
He squeezed his hand down hard. The next moment, the female demon's body was crushed. The scattered blood mist and limbs were absorbed by the black mist. Then everything returned to silence.
Hakuto looked at Megumi, still held in his arms.
He pulled the piece of broken glass embedded in his lower abdomen and casually threw it aside. Then he carried Megumi out of the church.
But unbeknownst to Hakuto, after he left, someone appeared and took away that piece of broken glass stained with his blood.
