Chapter 270: Mighty and Domineering Seraphina (Part 6)
Seraphina Sterling secretly gave her mother a thumbs-up. ’She doesn’t strike often, but when she does, it’s a direct hit! Amazing! Now that’s a master at work!’
The moment Kimberly Jennings spoke, the expressions on both Walter Sterling and Owen Sterling’s faces turned grim. Walter Sterling already had a poor impression of Jasmine Faulkner, and after Kimberly’s jab, his dislike for her intensified.
Meanwhile, Owen Sterling was forcefully suppressing his own displeasure. After all, Jasmine Faulkner was his wife. If he were to lose his temper now, it would be his own face he’d be losing.
Jasmine Faulkner noticed their displeasure. She desperately wanted to explain herself, but when she opened her mouth, no words came out.
Faye Sterling saw that the situation had turned against them. Not only had she failed to put Seraphina Sterling in her place, but she had also dragged her own mother into the line of fire. She shot to her feet. "How dare you talk about my mom like that? My mom *is* the great lady of the Faulkner family—that’s a fact! Her background is far nobler than a country bumpkin’s like yours! You have a low-class background you’re too ashamed to talk about, so you won’t let anyone else speak of theirs? I see it now—you’re just jealous that my mom’s origins are better than yours! You’re just—"
SLAP—
Before Faye Sterling could finish, Seraphina slapped her across the face.
The crisp sound echoed through the living room, which instantly fell silent.
"AHHH—" Not two seconds later, Faye Sterling snapped out of her shock and shrieked, struggling to slap Seraphina back.
"Seraphina Sterling! You shameless bitch! How dare you hit me? If I don’t tear you to shreds today, then my name isn’t Faye Sterling!" Faye shrieked, flailing her arms and kicking wildly like a madwoman. But her frantic struggles were useless; she couldn’t even touch the hem of Seraphina’s clothes.
"Seraphina Sterling! Go to hell! I’m the only young lady in the Sterling family! You’re just as low-class as your mother! Go die!"
SLAP— Seraphina effortlessly controlled Faye’s flailing arms with one hand and delivered a backhanded slap with the other, making both her cheeks a matching set. She squeezed Faye’s wrists, her grip tightening, and Faye’s face slowly drained of color as sweat beaded on her forehead.
"Seraphina Sterling, that’s enough! This is the Sterling household! You’d better get rid of that vulgar, backwater attitude of yours! You’re hitting a young lady of the Sterling family, not some random village girl! We will not tolerate you running wild in our home!"
Seeing her precious daughter get slapped twice, Jasmine Faulkner immediately tried to pull rank as an elder. But with her shrill, grating voice, she looked more like a common shrew from the streets. Her eyes blazed with fury as she glared at Seraphina, wishing she could march right over and slap her twice herself.
But Seraphina remained completely unafraid, even offering a bright smile. "So, Second Aunt, you remember this is the Sterling household now? You’re not going on about being the great lady of the Faulkner family anymore?" Her question left Jasmine Faulkner completely speechless.
Seeing that her mother was getting nowhere, Faye immediately pleaded with Owen Sterling. "Dad, save me! Seraphina’s trying to kill me! She really wants to kill me! It hurts so much, I’m going to die! Make her let me go!"
But Seraphina didn’t give Owen Sterling a chance to speak. "I’m sure Second Uncle agrees that Faye’s behavior was completely inappropriate and that she needs to be taught a lesson. I’m sure you, Second Uncle, understand the principles of raising a child better than I do. Spoiling a child isn’t love—it’s harmful."
Owen Sterling was left with nothing more to say. This time, Faye Sterling was truly in despair.
The slight smile on Seraphina’s lips never wavered, but her brilliant eyes flashed with a vicious light. "The first slap was a lesson for your wild accusations, for spreading rumors and trying to ruin my reputation."
"The second slap was for your disrespect toward an elder! My mother is your aunt! As a member of the younger generation, you are to treat your elders with respect! Do you understand?"
