A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 253: Insidious Faye Sterling (Part 2)

The scenery outside the car window flew backward in a blur. Fortunately, this was a villa district with hardly any cars and wide roads. Otherwise, it would have been a miracle if they didn’t get into an accident!

It had to be said, the car’s performance was truly top-notch. Even at such a blistering speed, the car was surprisingly stable! Of course, Faye Sterling’s driving skills were also quite good.

Faye Sterling was watching Seraphina Sterling’s expression, but to her disappointment, Seraphina’s face remained completely unchanged. She had the same placid look, as if this speed meant nothing to her.

Faye Sterling wasn’t one to give up until she achieved her goal! Steeling herself, she accelerated even further.

Seraphina Sterling could clearly feel the car starting to fishtail. This was a speed that Faye Sterling was simply incapable of handling, yet she still didn’t let up on the gas. Instead, she was constantly watching Seraphina in the back seat, waiting for her to beg for mercy!

But she was wrong. Buckled in, Seraphina Sterling was leaning back against the comfortable seat with her eyes closed, as if she were enjoying the breakneck speed without a hint of discomfort.

This was a duel, a battle waged without any gunpowder.

Whoever begged for mercy first would be the loser!

Faye Sterling wanted to put Seraphina Sterling in her place, to make her feel afraid. But Seraphina remained fearless from start to finish, as if this extreme speed meant nothing to her!

But for Faye Sterling, the driver, this breakneck pace was her limit. Her arms were starting to tremble, and she felt the car was about to spin out of control, as if it would go flying off the road at any moment. Even so, she kept her lips pressed tightly together, refusing to utter a single word of weakness. She was waiting, anticipating the moment Seraphina Sterling would crack and beg her to slow down!

But her goal was doomed to fail. Terrence Grant was a far faster driver than Faye Sterling—it wasn’t even close. Having already experienced his daredevil driving, this little stunt of Faye’s just felt like child’s play to Seraphina.

In the end, it was Faye Sterling who couldn’t take it anymore. "We can’t keep going this fast. It’ll be awkward if we’re the only two who show up because everyone else is still on their way! I’m Faye Sterling, after all. What would people think if I arrived so early!"

As she spoke, Faye Sterling slowed the car down, having found herself the perfect excuse.

"Suit yourself. It makes no difference to me. I was just worried that if you kept driving that fast, we’d have an accident! Then again, even if we did, you’re the driver and would take the brunt of it. I’m relatively safe back here!" Seraphina’s soft voice filled the car, and Faye Sterling wanted to curse.

So Seraphina’s calm expression had just been an act! So she *had* been afraid; she’d just kept quiet because she had a human shield in the driver’s seat! Faye Sterling was furious. Her approach had been flawed from the very beginning. Now that she’d lost this round, trying to regain the upper hand and put Seraphina in her place wouldn’t be so simple.

Seething with rage, Faye Sterling jerked the wheel and scraped against the Maybach in the next lane.

"Stop! What the hell is wrong with your driving?" a man roared at Faye Sterling, rolling down his window. This was a car he had just picked up, with brand-new plates! He had just gotten on the road and hadn’t even gone that far before it was scratched.

Faye Sterling glanced over and immediately recognized Martin Quinn. He was known in their circle as the most vicious character, and the Quinn Family was not someone the Sterling Family could afford to provoke. There were many prominent families in Aethelgard, and there wasn’t much of a hierarchy among them. However, there were four great families that one should absolutely never cross.
