Chapter 186: Successfully Acquiring the Galloway Family’s Auction Company (3)
"Miles Galloway, stop this pointless struggle. Instead of wasting time on these useless ideas, you should be thinking about what the Galloway Family will do after you’ve lost everything! Don’t wait until it’s all over to start panicking."
The Galloway father and daughter left the private room amidst Terrence Grant’s arrogant declaration. Though Miles Galloway was still indignant and refused to accept defeat, things had reached a point where he was powerless to turn the situation around. There was nothing he could do but accept it.
Miles Galloway was truly consumed by regret. If he hadn’t sent those thugs after Seraphina Sterling, if he hadn’t asked Ronan Winters to step in, things never would have gotten to this point! He wouldn’t be forced to watch helplessly as the empire he’d built with his own hands faced ruin.
The Galloway Family was completely finished. Although that detestable father-daughter duo had left, the atmosphere in the private room didn’t improve in the slightest.
Seraphina Sterling sat in the middle, with Ronan Winters on her left and Terrence Grant on her right. What should have been a perfectly ordinary business negotiation had taken a turn for the bizarre the moment Terrence Grant arrived.
"Terrence Grant, weren’t you invited by the Galloway Family? Now that they’ve left, shouldn’t you be going too?" Seraphina Sterling couldn’t stand it any longer and forced herself to speak up. ’When did he become so grim? His face is terrifyingly dark! And that glare... it looks like he’s about to devour someone!’
"You want me to leave? So you can be alone with him?" ’My temper has been getting shorter and shorter these last few days,’ Terrence Grant thought. It seemed that whenever Seraphina Sterling was involved, his patience evaporated completely.
Seraphina Sterling rolled her eyes in exasperation, her soft voice laced with fury. "Terrence Grant, a date my ass! Ronan Winters and I are here to discuss serious business! Your presence is an inconvenience!"
Hearing Seraphina Sterling actually swear, Terrence Grant reined in his volatile temper. ’In my experience,’ he thought, ’Seraphina Sterling is always composed and serene, exceptionally cool-headed in any situation. She almost never gets angry.’ He steadied his own temper. "Why would it be an inconvenience?"
"Trade secrets!" ’I’m going to lose my mind,’ Seraphina thought. ’Where did Terrence Grant’s infamous arrogance go? His unbridled audacity? Why is he suddenly acting like a nosy aunt, needing to get to the bottom of everything?’
Terrence Grant was seething with frustration. He shot a fierce glare at Ronan Winters. ’Damn trade secrets!’ Fearing he would truly infuriate Seraphina Sterling, he had no choice but to leave the private room.
Ronan Winters rubbed his nose, the very picture of innocence. ’This whole mess doesn’t have a damn thing to do with me,’ he thought. ’Is Terrence Grant redirecting his anger? I’m a completely innocent party here, okay!’
’Still, Seraphina Sterling is one hell of a woman! To be able to reject a man of his stature without so much as batting an eye... She’s really something else! But what shocked him even more was that Terrence Grant didn’t fly into a rage! The arrogant and tyrannical Mr. Grant of Aethelgard, the man who supposedly never stops until he gets what he wants, had actually listened to Seraphina Sterling and left obediently! It was utterly unbelievable!’
It was finally quiet. Seraphina Sterling composed herself, ready to discuss the collaboration with Ronan Winters. She noticed his probing gaze but chose to ignore it, getting straight down to business with a serious expression.
"Mr. Winters, since you came all this way, I assume you’ve thought through the matter of our collaboration."
Ronan Winters retracted his probing gaze, transforming back into a shrewd businessman in an instant. "I’ve only acknowledged that you have what it takes to make a deal with me. However, if this so-called deal of yours can’t pique my interest, then this conversation is over."
Seraphina Sterling smiled faintly. Having dared to propose the idea under such perilous circumstances, she was fully confident she could make Ronan Winters agree.
