Chapter 184: Successfully Acquiring the Galloway Family’s Auction Company (Part 1)
Terrence Grant glanced at Seraphina Sterling, his deep eyes filled with a complicated expression. His typically arrogant tone now carried a hint of grievance. "She’s never taken me seriously!"
Michelle Galloway had been eagerly anticipating the sight of Seraphina Sterling being punished. Before the triumphant smile could fully form on her lips, she heard Terrence Grant’s words, and her expression froze. ’Why aren’t things going the way I imagined? What does Mr. Grant mean? Do they know each other?’
’Seraphina Sterling actually knows Mr. Grant!’ Michelle Galloway’s eyes widened in shock. ’How could this country bumpkin possibly know Mr. Grant from Aethelgard? And their relationship is clearly something special!’
Seraphina Sterling understood the anger in Terrence Grant’s eyes. ’It was true, leaving the hospital behind his back wasn’t the best idea, but he can’t just keep me here forever! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with me; I don’t need to be hospitalized! Did he really have to be so dramatic about it?’
"I’m fine now, and the doctor said so too. Staying in the hospital is just a complete waste of time!"
Terrence Grant still wore a sullen expression. "The doctor said it would be best to keep you under observation for a few more days."
The corner of Seraphina Sterling’s mouth twitched. ’She remembered it clearly: the attending physician’s helpless expression. The doctor had clearly wanted to say she could be discharged immediately. But one look at Terrence Grant’s murderous glare and he’d abruptly changed his tune.’
"I know my own body best. Besides, Mr. Winters and I have very important things to do."
’Important things to do with Ronan Winters!’ Terrence Grant’s mood soured even more.
By now, Miles Galloway and Michelle Galloway were shocked numb. Terrence Grant was their last hope. ’But can someone please tell us what is going on? Why is Mr. Grant, our supposed savior, on such good terms with Seraphina Sterling—the very woman who drove the Galloway Family to the brink of bankruptcy?’
Sensing Terrence Grant’s impending eruption, and glancing at the troubled expressions on the faces of the Galloway father and daughter, Seraphina Sterling immediately changed the subject. "Congratulations on the happy news, Mr. Grant. When are you and Miss Galloway holding the wedding? Don’t forget to send me an invitation. I’ll be sure to prepare a very generous gift!"
A sense of dread washed over Miles and Michelle Galloway. Their worst fears were realized. ’Seraphina Sterling actually said it out loud. Yes, that was the plan, but... they hadn’t even put it into action yet!’
Terrence Grant’s expression turned thunderous. "Wedding?" His voice, though light, was dripping with danger. His deep eyes were like those of a cheetah that had just spotted its prey, and he looked ready to lunge forward and tear them to shreds. A bloodthirsty aura radiated from him.
Miles Galloway’s legs began to tremble uncontrollably. He had navigated the treacherous business world for many years, facing countless hardships and risks, but confronted with Terrence Grant’s overwhelming presence, his heart still quaked with fear. It was as if he weren’t facing a rich young master, but the Grim Reaper himself, come to claim his soul.
If even a veteran like Miles Galloway was this terrified, what hope was there for Michelle Galloway, who was, after all, just a young girl? She was too frightened to even speak, able only to stare at Terrence Grant in horror.
"Miles Galloway, do you think the Galloway Family isn’t collapsing fast enough? Do you want *me* to give it a push?" ’He really did feel the urge to kill the two of them right then and there.’
A shiver wracked Miles Galloway’s body, and he finally found his voice. "Mr. Grant, a mis... a misunderstanding... It’s all... all a misunderstanding."
"Oh? So Seraphina Sterling was lying?" Terrence Grant shot a sharp glance toward Seraphina, who thought she had successfully diverted the topic. He keenly spotted the triumphant smirk playing on her lips.
