Chapter 181: The Death-Courting Galloway Father and Daughter (6)
"What kind of service is this? Didn’t I call yesterday to reserve this private room? I’ve already paid the deposit! How could you give it to another guest?" Miles Galloway was fuming inside.
"Mr. Galloway, your reservation was for lunchtime. It’s dinnertime now," the waiter, a consummate professional, explained patiently.
This time, it was Miles Galloway’s turn to be dumbfounded. He thought everything was perfectly arranged, never imagining a problem would arise with the private room at this critical juncture. "Mr. Grant will be here any minute! We absolutely must have that room!"
"Isn’t that simple? Just tell that guest to give us the room! Our matter is urgent, so they should rightfully give it to us!" Michelle Galloway was as selfish as ever. It never occurred to her that her emergency had nothing to do with the other party. Why on earth should they just hand the room over?
Seraphina Sterling was sipping chrysanthemum tea. On the peach-wood square table sat a blue-and-white porcelain teacup, from which wisps of steam gently rose. Her expression was serene, as placid as a lake, lending her the distinct charm of a classical beauty.
None of this, however, registered with the Galloway father and daughter. To them, it was just their rotten luck to run into their nemesis. All their family’s disasters had been caused by her, and now, here she was, trying to steal their private room!
The moment Michelle Galloway saw Seraphina Sterling, her anger flared. Stomping over in her high heels, she charged, "Seraphina Sterling, what the hell do you want? Isn’t it enough that you’ve ruined my family? Why do you have to steal our private room too? What exactly do you want?"
Seraphina Sterling gently swirled her cup, watching the pale yellow chrysanthemum buds float in the pristine white porcelain. She took a delicate sip. "Michelle Galloway, I think you have your facts wrong. The Galloway Family’s fall has nothing to do with me. You brought it all on yourselves. I didn’t force you to buy forgeries, nor did I make you hire thugs to assault someone."
Seraphina Sterling set down her teacup. "As for this room, I booked it well in advance. It has absolutely nothing to do with you. I have no idea where you’re getting this notion of me ’stealing’ it."
Michelle Galloway’s expression turned grim.
"As for what I truly want... Mr. Galloway here should know perfectly well." Seraphina Sterling raised an eyebrow, her gaze meeting Miles Galloway’s crafty eyes. "I want the Galloway Family’s auction company."
Miles Galloway’s heart sank. This wasn’t the first time he had faced Seraphina Sterling up close, but today, her commanding presence was overwhelming—so powerful that a profound fear began to creep into his heart. The business he had built with his own two hands was about to be meekly handed over to another.
"In your dreams!" The slow-witted Michelle Galloway had no idea how serious the situation had become. The fact that the Galloway Family had fallen from being the number one enterprise in Sanford to the brink of bankruptcy was entirely Seraphina Sterling’s doing.
"The Galloway Family won’t collapse that easily! An ant trying to shake a tree—you’re completely overestimating yourself! With what little power you have, you dare to covet our family’s business? You should take a good look in the mirror. As if you’re worthy!" Michelle Galloway shot her a vicious glare, her eyes filled with mockery and scorn.
"Our family might be facing some difficulties right now, but they’ll all be resolved after today! The Grant Group, the Grant Family—ever heard of them? Hmph, a country bumpkin like you wouldn’t know!" Michelle Galloway lifted her chin arrogantly, the devastatingly handsome face of Terrence Grant, more striking than any movie star’s, flashing in her mind.
’The Grant Family? The Grants of Aethelgard? Terrence Grant?’ A faint smile unwittingly touched Seraphina Sterling’s lips, her brilliant eyes twinkling. "I’m all ears." Her voice was velvety soft, enough to make a heart skip a beat, yet it was laced with playful amusement.
