The Strongest Talent Tree

Chapter 291 - 288: Where Did This Wild Brat Come From?

As he dodged the Sword Qi, Zhang Meng instantly condensed two rows of icicles on either side of him. With a wild laugh, he sent them crashing down toward the black-clothed youth.

The black-clothed youth didn’t dare be careless. He rapidly swung his longsword, shattering the icicles into chips of ice.

Unfortunately for him, Tu Xiaoshan and Li Mufeng had already launched their attacks. From a distance, Tu Xiaoshan could be seen charging forward like a wild bull. At his terrifying speed, a hazy layer of Gang Qi rose up before him, turning his whole body into a cannonball.

BAM!

The black-clothed youth, having just shattered the icicles, had no time to react and was sent flying.

At the same time, Li Mufeng had already locked his gun onto the youth. It fired a long, blue bolt of light that exploded into a large blue net upon contact, binding him tightly.

"Still got a big mouth, kid?" Zhang Meng jiggled his fat as he stepped forward and demanded.

The black-clothed youth, trussed up like a dumpling in the net of blue light, yelled indignantly, "What kind of hero gangs up on someone three-on-one? If you have any guts, let Xi Yueyao fight me one-on-one!"

"You want to fight our Big Sis one-on-one? You think you’re worthy?" Zhang Meng sneered, swinging his fist at the youth. On the other side, Tu Xiaoshan and Li Mufeng did the same, rushing forward to join the beatdown.

The poor black-clothed youth screamed endlessly from the beating. The feeling of Zhang Meng jumping up and down on him, in particular, was a fate worse than death.

"Well? Do you submit?" Zhang Meng asked, cracking his knuckles.

"I submit, I submit!" the black-clothed youth cried, tears and snot streaming down his face.

"Hmph. That’s more like it." Only then did Zhang Meng stand up, satisfied. He proudly scanned the surroundings. "What about the rest of you? Anyone else refuse to submit?"

"..." The entire crowd of new students was deathly silent. No one else dared to step forward.

It couldn’t be helped. Most of the new students were only around level thirty-something, while Xi Yueyao’s group of four had already broken through to level forty. Their strengths were in completely different leagues.

Seeing the crowd submit to her show of force, Xi Yueyao felt a great sense of accomplishment. She nodded in satisfaction. "Alright then. From now on, I’m the boss of this year’s freshmen. Don’t worry, as long as you follow me, no one will dare bully you. If anyone dares to mess with my crew, I’ll beat them down, even if they’re upperclassmen!"

Hearing this, the new students began to murmur among themselves.

Zhang Meng looked impatient. "What are you all standing around for? Call her Big Sis!"

"Big Sis," came a few scattered voices from the crowd.

"Louder!" Zhang Meng snapped.

"BIG SIS—!" The mighty shout echoed through the freshman building.

And just like that, on the very first day of school, Xi Yueyao easily unified the new students of the Strength Department. But this wasn’t enough to satisfy her. She soon turned her sights to the other departments.

"Gahahaha, the feeling of conquering the Advanced Academy is something else," Xi Yueyao said with a grin, her eyes narrowed. "By the way, Fatty, which department is next?"

"The Magic Damage Department is right next door. Let’s go there," Zhang Meng analyzed thoughtfully.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let’s move out and take on the Magic Damage Department!" Xi Yueyao declared, full of passion. "Haha, I’ll show all the freshmen who the true King of this class is!"

Li Mufeng suddenly chimed in with a reminder, "Um... I think we should be careful. The Magic Damage Department is pretty strong."

"Who cares? We’ll charge in first and figure it out later." Xi Yueyao waved her hand dismissively and swaggered toward the Magic Damage Department.

Li Mufeng gave a helpless smile and had no choice but to hurry after her.

A few minutes later, Feng Hao appeared in the Strength Department’s freshman building, looking confused. He scanned the area with his Divine Sense for a long while but couldn’t find any trace of Xi Yueyao.

Helpless, he stopped a random freshman in a blue uniform. "Hey man, do you know where Xi Yueyao is?"

"Xi Yueyao?" The blue-uniformed guy’s mouth twitched. "Why are you looking for her?"

"Oh, I’m her friend," Feng Hao said honestly.

The guy stared at him for a moment, then gave him a strange look. "You’re too late. Big Sis already took a gang of people over to the Magic Damage Department."

"What’s she doing at the Magic Damage Department?" Feng Hao asked, stunned.

"What do you think? Taking over," the blue-uniformed guy said with a pout.

"..." Feng Hao was speechless. After a few brief words of thanks, he quickly rushed toward the Magic Damage Department.

’For crying out loud! Wasn’t she supposed to be heartbroken? Why is she running off and causing trouble again? And after I exhausted myself rushing back here for her. What a waste of emotion.’

Meanwhile, in front of the Magic Damage Department’s freshman building.

The two sides were arrayed like opposing armies. Xi Yueyao stood proudly at the front, followed by her three lackeys—Zhang Meng and the others—as well as the group of Strength Department underlings she had just subdued.

And across from them, several thousand new students from the Magic Damage Department, led by a cute but fiery girl, stared back coldly.

"What kind of freaks are you, daring to cause trouble in our Magic Damage Department? You tired of living?" The girl’s arrogant tone was a perfect match for Xi Yueyao’s.

"Enough talk," Zhang Meng strode forward and said arrogantly, "From now on, the Magic Damage Department is under our management!"

"Hilarious. You think you can take over our Magic Damage Department with just the few of you?" the girl said, her eyes full of disdain.

"And who are you?" Zhang Meng couldn’t help but frown, because he was shocked to discover that this girl had also broken through to the fourth tier and reached the terrifying level of forty-three.

’Damn, being level forty at enrollment was already impressive enough. But someone’s already level forty-three right at the start of school? That’s terrifying.’

He knew their own strength came from using Experience Pills, but this girl had earned hers through pure cultivation. Judging by that training speed alone, her genetic activity level had to be around two hundred points.

What did two hundred points of genetic activity mean? It was an absolutely world-class rarity.

The girl raised her chin proudly, her eyes filled with scorn. "The name’s Xie Xiaoyu. What do you think? Scared yet?"

Xi Yueyao wouldn’t stand for such a provocation. With a flick of her whip, she pointed it at Xie Xiaoyu’s face and cursed, "Where did this wild brat come from? Scram if you know what’s good for you, or I’ll tear your mouth off!"

Xie Xiaoyu was clearly no pushover. Hearing Xi Yueyao’s words, she immediately brandished an exquisite Magic Staff and shrieked in anger, "You’re the wild brat! Your whole family is full of wild brats!"

"What? You dare talk back? I’m going to whip that mouth of yours raw today!"

With that, Xi Yueyao swung her long whip and charged. The followers behind her looked completely dumbfounded.

"Like I’m afraid of you?" Xie Xiaoyu wasted no time on words, directly channeling her Magic Power and raising her hand to launch a basketball-sized Fireball.

"Child’s play!" Xi Yueyao sneered, revealing two small canine teeth.

With a light tap of her toe, she spun around, using the momentum to swing her whip. The dark red whip instantly grew longer and thicker, lashing out at the Fireball with a CRACK! The next moment, the Fireball that had been hurtling toward her was sent flying right back.

Xie Xiaoyu’s face fell in alarm. She hastily erected an ice wall to block the Fireball, then charged at Xi Yueyao, flailing wildly. "You damn girl, I’m going to kill you—!"

In her fierce charge, Xie Xiaoyu actually transformed into a gigantic firebird, screeching as it swooped down to bite Xi Yueyao.

The roaring flames carried a wave of heat, instantly illuminating the entire school building.

Xi Yueyao let out a startled cry, immediately turned tail, and ran. As she fled, she screamed, "Oh no, the enemy’s firepower is too strong! To the rescue! Save me!"

"Trying to run? Not so easy!" sneered Xie Xiaoyu in her firebird form.
