Chapter 51: Awakening
AWAKENING
When Shen Chen opened his eyes, the world was different.
He could feel the Celestial Palace within him, its walls humming with power. He could feel the Throne Figure watching, his presence a constant reminder of the destiny that awaited.
I can feel them. All 3,000 laws. They're imprinted on my Celestial Palace, woven into the very fabric of my existence.
He didn't understand it fully. He wasn't even aware of the full extent of what had happened. The System's instructions had guided him through the process, but the true scope of his achievement was hidden from him.
For now, I only understand fragments. But as I grow, I'll understand more. The imprints will reveal themselves gradually.
He rose to his feet, his body aching but his spirit high. The tribulation was over. He had survived. He had grown stronger.
Mei rushed to him, her face filled with relief. "Chen! You're alive!"
He smiled, a tired but genuine expression. "I told you I would be."
---
Over the following days, Shen Chen explored the Celestial Palace within him.
It was vast, its halls stretching into infinity. The walls were covered in ancient runes—the law imprints that had been embedded in his Golden Core. Each rune pulsed with power, a constant reminder of the foundation he had built.
The Throne Figure sat at the heart of the palace, his face still shrouded in light. He was watching, waiting, his presence a constant source of strength.
Who are you? Shen Chen asked, his voice echoing through the halls.
The Throne Figure didn't answer. But Shen Chen could feel the connection—the awareness that this figure was him, a part of him, a manifestation of his true potential.
You are my destiny, aren't you? The one I'm meant to become.
The Throne Figure inclined his head slightly, a gesture of acknowledgment.
Shen Chen smiled. Then I'll become you. I'll grow stronger, overcome every challenge, and claim the power that's waiting for me.
He withdrew from the palace, his heart filled with purpose.
---
Shen Chen stood at the edge of the canyon, watching the sun rise over the Western Desolation.
The Celestial Palace pulsed within him, its walls resonating with the law imprints. The Throne Figure watched from the heart of the palace, his presence a constant reminder of the power that lay within reach.
I don't understand it fully. Not yet. But I will. The imprints will reveal themselves gradually, as I grow stronger.
He thought of the System, of the fragments of laws it had loaned him. He didn't know how it had done it, or why. But he was grateful.
Whatever happens next, I'll be ready.
He turned and walked back to his family, his heart filled with purpose.
