Boundless Legacy

Chapter 41

REWARD (Revised)

The evening was quiet, the camp settling into its nightly rhythm.

Shen Chen sat in his tent, his eyes closed, his mind focused on his cultivation. The Void Core pulsed within him, a constant source of power that fueled his growth. He had been pushing himself harder than ever, his grief and determination driving him forward.

And then, without warning, the System's voice echoed in his mind.

[Hidden Task Completed: Establishing a Force.]

[Objective: Build a sustainable organization with at least 10 active members.]

[Status: Complete.]

[Current Members: 12.]

[Evaluation: The host has successfully established a functional force in the Western Desolation. The organization has demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and growth potential.]

[Reward Calculation:]

· Spirit Stones: 50,000

· Golden Core Advancement Pill (1x)

· Void Dragon's Blessing (Fragment 3)

· Spatial Ring Expansion (50 cubic meters)

· Force Headquarters Blueprint (Ancient Grade)

· Hidden Quest Unlocked: The Force's Legacy

Shen Chen's eyes snapped open, his heart racing. Fifty thousand Spirit Stones? A Golden Core Advancement Pill? A headquarters blueprint?

This is... this is beyond anything I expected.

He read through the rewards again, his mind struggling to process the magnitude of what he had been given. The Spirit Stones alone would fund their operations for years. The Golden Core Advancement Pill would accelerate his cultivation to the next level. And the headquarters blueprint...

With this, we can build a real base. A place we can defend. A place we can call home.

[New Quest: Name Your Force.]

[Objective: Choose a name for your organization. The name will define your identity and reputation in the Western Desolation and beyond.]

[Reward: 10,000 Spirit Stones. Unlock Force Management Interface.]

[Note: The name you choose will have long-term consequences for your organization's growth and alliances.]

Shen Chen was silent for a long moment, his mind racing. The name was important—it would define who they were, what they stood for, how others would perceive them.

What should I call us? The Desolation Bandits? No, that's too common. Too ordinary. We're more than that now.

He thought of Old Liu, of the family they had built, of the legacy they were creating. He thought of the Void Dragon Physique, the power that flowed through his veins. He thought of the Western Desolation, the harsh but beautiful land that had become their home.

The Void... no, that's too revealing. It would draw attention to my physique. Something more subtle. Something that reflects who we are and what we've overcome.

He thought of the ashes they had risen from, the fire that had forged them into something stronger.

"The Ashen Phoenix," he murmured. "It's perfect."

[Name Selected: The Ashen Phoenix.]

[Meaning: Rising from the ashes of destruction. Rebirth through fire. A symbol of resilience and hope.]

[Force Management Interface: Unlocked.]

[New Quests Available:]

1. The Ashen Phoenix - Expansion

· Objective: Recruit 10 new members.

· Reward: 20,000 Spirit Stones. Unlock Tier 1 Force Perks.

2. The Ashen Phoenix - Resource Acquisition

· Objective: Establish a steady income of resources (minimum 5,000 Spirit Stones/month).

· Reward: 15,000 Spirit Stones. Unlock Tier 1 Resource Network.

3. The Ashen Phoenix - Reputation

· Reward: 25,000 Spirit Stones. Unlock Tier 1 Alliance Network.

Shen Chen read through the quests, his mind already planning. These were exactly what he needed to grow his force. But he would need to be careful—the rewards were generous, but they would also raise questions. He couldn't just explain away the sudden influx of resources.

I'll need a cover story. A reason for our sudden success.

He rose to his feet and walked out of his tent, his mind working through the possibilities.

The next morning, Shen Chen gathered the bandits around the fire. Yue stood beside him, her expression curious.

"I have news," Shen Chen said, his voice steady. "Good news."

The bandits leaned forward, their eyes filled with anticipation.

"While I was exploring the ruins near the Serpent's Tomb, I found something. A cache—hidden beneath the rubble. It contained Spirit Stones, cultivation pills, and a set of ancient blueprints for a headquarters."

He paused, letting the words sink in.

"There were also resources. Enough to fund our operations for months. Enough to build a real base. Enough to transform us from bandits into something more."

Murmurs of excitement rippled through the camp.

"How much is there?" one of the bandits asked.

"More than I expected," Shen Chen said carefully. "Tens of thousands of Spirit Stones. Plus artifacts and techniques that we can sell or use."

The bandits exchanged glances, their faces a mixture of disbelief and joy.

"Chen, this is incredible," Yue said, her voice filled with wonder. "We can finally build something real."

Shen Chen nodded, a smile on his face. "We can. But we need to be smart about this. We can't let anyone know the full extent of what we've found. If word gets out, every force in the Desolation will come for us."

"So what do we do?" Mei asked.

"We keep the location of the cache secret," Shen Chen said. "We use the resources wisely. We build slowly, carefully, so no one suspects how much we really have."

He looked around at their faces, seeing the trust and hope in their eyes.

"This is our chance," he said. "Our chance to build something that will last. Something that will honor the memory of those we lost. Something that will make us strong enough to face whatever comes."
