Civilization Chronicles: Rise of the Divine Creator

Chapter 492: Tina’s 16th Birthday – Unexpected Arrivals

"Her Royal Highness, Crown Princess Talia Darr, has arrived!"

Instantly, the entire garden square went silent.

Talia Darr, 5th daughter of King Darian Darr and current heir to the throne of the Darr Kingdom.

Here.

In the Rockwell Kingdom.

In Misty City!

The very idea was so ridiculous that at first, no one could even believe their ears; however, it wasn’t long before a tall, wild-looking beauty with long light orange hair, wearing traditional Darr Kingdom robes, stepped into view, smiling proudly and confidently despite literally being surrounded by masters from an enemy nation in the middle of hostile territory.

Most people gathered for Christina’s birthday party had never seen Crown Princess Talia before, but enough of them had that they were swiftly able to confirm that it was indeed her.

Talia’s presence alone was quite shocking, but it soon became apparent to the crowd that the Darr Kingdom’s Crown Princess had not come here alone.

Standing behind the tall, red-eyed woman was a group of nearly 20 people. A few of these men and women were exuding powerful cultivation auras, but most of them seemed to belong to the younger generation.

While the people of the Rockwell Kingdom might despise those from the Darr Kingdom, with no small number even harbouring hatred towards this enemy nation, everyone present was forced to admit that Talia and her entourage had guts.

Not many of them would be willing to walk into the heart of a hostile kingdom unannounced with so few people and so few masters accompanying them.

As the Rockwell Kingdom’s side was sizing up these unexpected guests, the Darr Kingdom’s group was doing the same, especially the youths, who were all exuding an obvious fighting intent.

The one who stood out the most, however, was definitely the young man standing right behind Talia and who shared many similar features with her.

Unlike his peers, he remained perfectly steady, a veritable island of calm in a storm of aggression.

This young man was slightly shorter than Taila, but he had the same long orange hair as the crown princess, though of a much darker shade.

The two of them were clearly related, but as was typical with powerful cultivators, it was difficult to tell exactly what their relationship was at a glance; after all, True Cultivators could retain their youthful looks for many decades, or even many centuries.

Put another way, in families where cultivation was prevalent, one could have parents who were just a few decades older than themselves, or siblings with more than 100 years separating their births.

That said, the better-informed members of the Rockwell Kingdom’s side were able to figure out who this young man was fairly quickly, including Lucas, Christina, and Eris as they had been briefed by their Master on the most important members of the Darr Kingdom some time ago.

Landon Darr, Talia Darr’s son and the most talented member of the Darr Kingdom’s current younger generation.

In other words, Landon was to the Darr Kingdom as Christina was to the Rockwell Kingdom, and by all accounts, he certainly didn’t disappoint.

17 years old yet already at the Tenth Step Core Formation Realm, a true genius among geniuses, Lucas thought to himself, quietly reading Landon’s aura.

As the young boy was doing so, however, his target actually shifted his gaze to meet his, which came as a surprise to both of them.

Lucas had exceptional control over his Soul Sense, to the point where no one below the very peak of the Sea Establishment Realm should have been able to detect his probing, yet now this prince from the Darr Kingdom had actually accurately caught him.

For Landon, the surprise didn’t come from the fact that someone was probing him, but rather the fact that the source of this probe was a boy who was clearly much younger than him; however, recalling the information his mother had provided him before they left on this mission, the prince soon understood, He must be Lucas, Marquess Balfour’s First Disciple.

Simultaneously, the two young men grinned, both of them unconsciously finding the other party much more interesting than they originally anticipated.

While what the younger generation was up to was somewhat noteworthy, what truly mattered was what the adults doing, and in this regard, the situation was... tense.

The silence in the square lasted for nearly half-a-minute before Talia Darr flashed a confident grin and snickered, "It seems we’ve come at the perfect time."

"And why would you say that, Your Highness?" Elizabeth Carlson asked as she stepped out from the crowd.

The Supreme Elder of the Carlson Family had been working hard together with Lucas and Celestina for the past several months, and had indeed achieved some progress in both the advancement of Project Ascension and her own personal cultivation, but she was still a-ways away from breaking through to the Martial Adept Realm.

That said, as an Elder and a refined, dignified figure, no one from the Rockwell Kingdom felt it was inappropriate for her to be the one to make this first inquiry.

Those from the Darr Kingdom side, however, thought otherwise.

"How dare a washed-up old hag question Her..."

Before the overzealous young man could finish his words, Talia raised her hand, stopping him cold. She didn’t look back at him, or even say a single word, but from the aura wafting from her figure the young man could still tell that the Crown Princess was not happy.

He wasn’t wrong.

Talia could be a bit flippant in her remarks, even a little playful and teasing with her words, but that wasn’t because she was a princess, it was because she was strong. A Low-Rank Martial Adept had the right to speak freely even in this kind of setting, but a whelp still in the Core Formation Realm certainly didn’t.

Some of the more hot-headed youths from the Rockwell Kingdom’s side also seemed to have wanted to say something on multiple occasions since the Darr Kingdom group’s arrival, but they had all held back thus far to avoid embarrassing themselves and their nation.

When Talia noticed this, that her side had broken decorum first while the other side managed to maintain their dignity, it only aggravated her further.
