Lin Mubai naturally saw the text message. After several days of phone harassment, he simply added Xi Shaoqi’s number to the blacklist. This way he wouldn’t have to worry about that guy harassing him anymore. But he still underestimated Shaoqi. Although Shaoqi’s calls couldn’t get through, he could still harass him with a new number. Driven to the edge, Lin Mubai simply kept only Han Xiayang’s number on the whitelist and blacklisted everyone else. Yet, he could still see the text messages right away.
When he saw the message from Xi Shaoqi, he was sitting on the sofa with An Nan, watching TV. When his phone vibrated, he picked it up, glanced at it, then calmly set it aside.
An Nan glanced at his action but then focused back on the TV.
A moment later, Lin Mubai’s voice echoed in the living room, "Nannan, Shaoqi asked me out tonight. Do you want to go together?"
His consideration was this: if An Nan agreed, it naturally meant their relationship had progressed. Otherwise, he’d continue to try harder.
Regarding this unexpected invitation, An Nan was initially surprised but then shook her head under Lin Mubai’s gaze, "I’m not going. I have work tomorrow. Have fun."
Perhaps work was just an excuse, but she felt strange about going together with Little White. She couldn’t pinpoint exactly where the weirdness lay.
Even though he was fully aware of what her answer would be, Lin Mubai still felt a slight disappointment.
He nodded lightly and continued speaking to her, "Alright then, I’ll prepare dinner and then head out."
An Nan quickly refused, "No need, there’s plenty left from lunch. I’ll heat it up for dinner. You should go early and come back early."
