Lin Mubai returned to his high-rise apartment in New York's most prosperous area, feeling a sense of loss from Fifth Avenue.
This apartment was bought with the first pot of gold he had scooped from Wall Street during his first year in the United States at the age of eighteen. Seven years have passed since then, and now at twenty-five, his family back home began urging him to go back and inherit the family business. He also decided to return to his country in the next few days.
Originally, he was free of attachments when leaving the United States, but because of today's unexpected encounter on Fifth Avenue, a ripple was left in his heart, making it impossible for him to return to his country with a calm heart. Indeed, there was now attachment, struggle, and an inexplicable feeling in his heart.
However, his flight ticket for tomorrow is already booked, and his family back home knows he's returning tomorrow, allowing no room for him to stay in the United States to search for that person.
After much thought, Lin Mubai formed an idea in his mind, quickly got up, went to a tightly closed room in the apartment, and pushed it open decisively.
This was a converted studio, now almost empty. All his works had been packed and shipped back home before his decision to return home; only some scattered drawing boards, brushes, and a few paints were left. But these were enough.
Casually unbuttoning his coat, he took it off and threw it onto the sofa, and Lin Mubai sat directly in front of the drawing board. He first adjusted the colors he needed, then picked up a brush and began to sketch the face that was in his mind.
