Knotting His Rejected Breeder

Chapter 241: The Last Battle

Fenris charged, and turned just in time to block his sword. The two blades crashed together.

Ramon was already bleeding heavily from the silver wound beneath his ribs, but he refused to slow down. Fenris had stabbed him once. He would not get the chance to do it again.

Ramon pushed forward with everything he had.

The allied armies had completely surrounded Silverpaw. Everyone had come to stop Fenris.

The battlefield was filled with people who had once stood on different sides.

Now, they fought beneath the same purpose.

To stop a dictator.

A Silverpaw warrior rushed toward Blane, but Daniel intercepted him.

His sword pierced the man’s chest.

The warrior fell. Daniel turned just in time to see another blade coming toward him. Blane grabbed him and pulled him aside.

The sword missed Daniel’s heart but cut deeply into his side. "Daniel!"

Daniel stumbled. "I am fine."

"You are bleeding."

"So is everyone else!" He tried to push forward.

Blane grabbed his arm. "Stay behind me."

Daniel looked at him. Then he smiled. "You always say that."

Before Blane could answer, a roar came from the center of the battlefield.

Ivy turned.

Ramon was fighting Fenris. Then she saw the blood covering him.

Her eyes widened. "Ramon!"

Fenris drove his sword forward. Ramon twisted aside. The blade cut across his shoulder.

Ramon gritted his teeth and struck Fenris across the chest.

Fenris stumbled.

Then another voice rang across the battlefield.

"Ramon!" Sonia called.

Ramon’s head turned. Sonia stood beside Daisy. But she was not the same Sonia Fenris remembered.

She was pregnant.

Her stomach was already visible beneath her clothes.

Fenris froze.

For the first time since the battle began, the terrifying Alpha stood completely still.

His eyes dropped to Sonia’s stomach.

Then slowly lifted to her face. "No."

Sonia’s expression changed. "Father..."

Fenris stared at her from afar. "You’re pregnant?"

Sonia took a step toward him. "Father, please."

His face twisted.

"I’m here to stop you."

Fenris looked at her stomach again.

Something dark crossed his face. "You carry his child?"

Sonia’s hand moved protectively over her stomach.

Fenris’s eyes became cold.

Ramon saw the change. "Sonia, get back!"

But Ivy moved first. She saw Fenris lift his weapon. A scream tore from her throat.

Then she shifted, bones cracked, her body dropped to the ground before expanding into a massive grey wolf.

The wolf lunged.

Fenris turned.

Ivy’s jaws snapped toward his throat.

Fenris raised one arm, his claws tore across her side. The force of the attack sent the giant grey wolf flying.

She crashed into the ground several feet away.

"Ivy!" Blane’s scream tore through the battlefield.

His face went white.

Alpha Erling turned sharply. His eyes landed on the massive grey wolf lying on the ground.

Then he saw the blood. Then the way Blane was staring at her.

Erling understood. The realization hit him like a blow.

That was Ivy’s mate. The man who had been beside her. The man who had shouted her name before anyone else.

For one painful second, Erling stared at Blane.

Then he looked toward Fenris.

His expression hardened. "Attack!"

Blane ran. Erling ran beside him.

Jackie and Liam turned toward the commotion.

Ramon saw Ivy lying on the ground. Something inside him broke. Fenris saw the distraction.

He moved and his claws drove into Ramon’s wounded shoulder.

Ramon screamed.

Fenris’s hand dug deeper into the torn flesh.

"Still standing?" Fenris whispered.

Ramon’s face twisted in pain.

Fenris pulled him closer. "You should have stayed dead."

Ramon’s eyes lifted. He was bleeding. He was exhausted. His shoulder was being torn apart by Fenris’s claws. But Fenris had made one mistake.

He had come too close.

Ramon’s hand tightened around his sword. Fenris’s eyes widened. Ramon drove the blade into his chest.

The sword went deep, and Fenris froze.

The entire battlefield seemed to stop. Ramon’s blade had entered directly beneath Fenris’s ribs.

Blood spread across Fenris’s clothes.

His claws slowly released Ramon’s shoulder.

"No," Fenris whispered.

Ramon leaned closer. "You should have stayed away from my family."

He twisted the blade.

Fenris’s body jerked.

"FATHER!" The scream came from his sons. All of them shouted at once.

Fenris stumbled backward. Ramon pulled his sword free. Fenris looked down at the blood covering his chest.

His breathing became heavy. But he did not fall. He raised his eyes.

Ramon stared at him.

Even after taking a sword through the chest, Fenris was still standing.

He was still alive. He was still terrifying.

Then Sonia ran toward Ramon.

"Ramon!"

Ramon turned toward her. He barely had time to see her before Fenris moved.

His hand shot forward.

The blade drove into Sonia’s palm.

Ramon screamed.

"SONIA!" Ramon’s expression changed.

Fenris pulled the blade free. Blood poured from Sonia’s hand. She stumbled backward, clutching it against her chest.

Fenris stared at her. "You came here to protect him?"

Sonia’s eyes filled with tears. "Father..."

"Don’t call me that."

The words cut deeper than the blade.

Fenris looked at her stomach. "You carry his child, and you still chose to stand against me."

Sonia shook her head. "I came because I didn’t want you to die."

Fenris laughed. "You came because you were weak."

Ramon’s eyes darkened.

Fenris stepped closer to Sonia. "You were always weak. Your mother made you soft, and now this man has made you stupid."

Sonia’s lips trembled. "Stop."

"You think he loves you?"

Ramon took a step forward.

Fenris’s eyes remained on Sonia. "He will never love you the way you want him to. You are only useful because you carry his child."

Sonia’s face crumpled.

Ramon’s grip tightened around his sword. "Enough."

Fenris looked at him. "You think you can protect her?"

Ramon moved. But Fenris raised his blade toward Sonia.

Ramon stopped.

Fenris smiled. "There. That’s the problem with love."

He looked at Sonia. "It makes people weak."

The sound of a roar suddenly tore through the battlefield.

Cade shifted first. His body twisted as his wolf took control. Seth shifted beside him. Jed’s eyes turned gold. Wolf’s body began to change. They were all angry.

Seven enormous wolves stood between Fenris and Sonia.

Their growls rolled across the battlefield.

Fenris stared at them.

His sons.

His enemies.

They stood together to protect their sister.

Sonia looked at them through her tears. "Please..."

She didn’t know who she was begging.

Her brothers? Her father? The war?

Fenris raised his sword. The seven wolves lowered themselves to attack.

Then Ramon moved. He was faster. His sword cut through the air. Fenris turned and Ramon drove the blade into him again.

This time, directly through the heart.

Fenris’s eyes widened. The sword pierced completely through his chest.

Ramon stood inches from him.

His face was filled with fury. "You don’t get to hurt her again."

Fenris stared at him, blood spilled from his mouth, as he also drives his claws deeper into Ramon’s already wounded rib that refuses to heal because of the silver.

His eyes moved toward his sons. For the first time, there was something in them that looked almost human.

Cade stared at him.

Seth froze.

Jed’s wolf growled.

Wolf stood ready to attack.

Fenris looked at them.

Then his eyes returned to Ramon.

"You..."

His voice was barely a whisper. Ramon pushed the sword deeper, and Fenris did same.

Fenris’s knees finally gave way and so was Ramon, the mighty Alpha of Silverpaw collapsed, and also the powerful Alpha of Bloodmoon.

Fenris body hit the ground. The battlefield fell silent.

For one long second, nobody moved. Then Sonia dropped to her knees.

Ramon turned toward her. "So...Son...Sonia..." he gasped as blood poured out from his mouth.

"Ramon..."

He took one step. Then another. His face had gone pale. Blood covered his shoulder, his side, and his clothes.

But he reached Sonia.

He dropped beside her. "Let me see your hand."

She held it out. Ramon looked at the wound.

Then at her stomach. "Are you hurt?"

Sonia shook her head. "No."

Ramon exhaled. Behind them, Ivy’s grey wolf suddenly moved.

Blane rushed toward her. "Ivy!"

She shifted back, lying on the ground with blood covering her side.

Blane dropped beside her. "Look at me."

Ivy opened her eyes. "Blane?"

His hands trembled as he pressed against her wound. "I am here."

Alpha Erling stood several feet away.

He watched them. Then he looked at the body of Fenris.

The battle was over, but it was about to take Ramon with it.

A scream suddenly tore through the battlefield.

"DANIEL!"

Blane’s head snapped around. Daniel was standing several feet away.

A Silverpaw warrior had driven a sword through his stomach.

The warrior pulled the blade free.

Daniel collapsed.

Blane stared. "No."

He ran. He reached Daniel as he fell. Blane caught him in his arms.

Daniel’s eyes struggled to focus. "Blane..."

"No. No, stay awake."

Daniel tried to smile. "I told you..."

"Don’t talk."

"I told you I was fine."

Blane pressed his hands against the wound. Blood slipped between his fingers. "Someone help me!"

Daniel’s breathing became weaker.

Blane shook him. "Daniel!"

Daniel looked at him. Then his eyes moved toward the battlefield. Toward Ramon. Toward the people who had come to fight.

Toward the body of Fenris. "We won..."

Blane’s face broke. "Don’t say that."

Daniel smiled faintly. "You can tell them..."

His eyes slowly closed.

Blane shook his head. "No."

Daniel’s body went limp.

"Daniel!" Blane’s scream echoed across the battlefield.

Ramon turned. Sonia covered her mouth. Ivy stared.

Even Fenris’s sons looked toward the body of the man who had died fighting beside them.

The war had ended.

Fenris was dead.

But victory had come with a price.

Moon was dead. Daniel was dead. Ivy was wounded. Sonia’s hand was bleeding.

Suddenly, Ramon collapsed.

Sonia knelt slowly beside him.

"Ramon... Ramon... please, don’t do this to me."

She shook him.

"Wake up, Ramon. I need you. Your child needs you. Your pack needs you!"

She screamed as tears streamed down her face.

"Ramon!"

Ivy limped slowly toward them with one hand pressed to her bloody rib.

"Is..." Her voice broke.

She swallowed hard.

"Is my brother dead?"
