Knotting His Rejected Breeder

Chapter 211: The Alpha’s Resolve

RAMON’S POV

I was out even before dawn.

Walking straight to the training ground, I prepared myself for the task at hand. My muscles were already warm from the short jog, a low burn that reminded me I was still alive, still capable of leading.

After thinking hard and deep about everything I had heard so far, I realized it wasn’t any harm to be proactive. The confessions, the accusations, the constant whispers—they had blurred the lines of trust, making every shadow feel like a threat. But sitting idle, letting the doubt fester, would only make me weaker. I needed to remember what it meant to be alpha, to lead from the front rather than hide behind walls and silence.

If it turned out to all be hubris, it wouldn’t still hurt anyone. The thought brought a small, grim smile to my lips as I reached the center of the field.

Henceforth, I wanted to remind myself what it felt like to be a true alpha.

It wasn’t just by running away from problems. It was also by actively embracing those problems.

I walked to the center of the training ground, and took off my clothes. The day was extremely cold, and it was still dark outside, the stars still visible in the inky sky above.

This was the perfect time to sharpen my form, before my fighting wolf army began to trickle in. The solitude of the pre-dawn hours felt sacred, a moment to reconnect with the wolf inside me without the noise of the pack pressing in.

It was going to be a spectacular training session.

Not just today alone, but also the subsequent days that would follow. The decision felt right, a return to the discipline that had built Bloodmoon from the ashes of its past.

I began with light jogging to stretch out my muscles. My feet moved steadily across the field, the rhythm of my breath steadying as I pushed through the cold. The dew on the grass soaked my feet, the chill seeping into my bones but fueling the fire in my blood.

I jogged from one end of the large field to the other end. The distance felt good, my legs warming with each stride as the stiffness from sleep faded.

From jogging, I went into full blown running. My pace quickened, feet pounding against the earth as I pushed harder, the burn in my muscles a welcome distraction from the chaos in my mind.

My exercise continued, and I was engrossed in it, I didn’t know when it dawned.

The cock crowed, and I felt the first trickle of light. The sound cut through the quiet, a sharp reminder that the pack would soon stir.

Stopping, I looked into the sky, as it began to clear.

Dropping to my knees, I said a little prayer to the moon goddess. My hands pressed into the earth, grounding me as I whispered the ancient words, the wind carrying them away like an offering.

I was still in that praying position in the center of the field, when the first batch of my warrior wolves arrived. Their footsteps were quiet at first, respectful of the moment, but I sensed them long before they spoke.

I heard how they went silent the second they walked in, and recognized me. The hush that fell over them was profound, a sign of the respect they still held for their alpha despite my absence.

Good, because I needed utter silence from them. The moment felt sacred, a reconnection I hadn’t realized I needed so badly.

They continued to come in their numbers, and I continued my prayers. The sound of their arrival blended with the morning chorus of birds, the field slowly filling with the presence of my pack.

When I sensed Blane, and Daniel coming in, I knew they were complete.

They surrounded me, waiting for me to be done. The energy in the air shifted, anticipation building as they waited for their alpha to rise.

"I hope we have a deal," I said, ending my prayer. The words were quiet but carried across the field, a vow to the moon goddess and to myself.

Rising to my feet, I opened my eyes, and began looking all around. The wolves stood in formation, their bodies strong and ready.

I hadn’t seen them in a while. I hadn’t been in their midst for some time now. The realization hit me hard, a pang of guilt for how much I had withdrawn.

It was crazy how it only took a short time for a wolf to develop even more. Their bodies were rippled. They had the gait of wolves ready for war, their eyes sharp and focused as they watched me.

I couldn’t be happier at the job Daniel had done so far. The pride swelled in my chest as I looked at them, a small spark of the alpha I used to be reigniting.

He took my corrections, and together with his common sense, did an excellent job with the wolves. The thought brought a rare smile to my lips, a moment of genuine appreciation amid the darkness.

Lifting my head to the heavens, I growled in command. The sound rumbled from deep in my chest, raw and powerful, carrying across the field like thunder.

They all threw their heads back, and howled in sync as a response. The sound rose as one, a unified chorus that shook the air and sent birds scattering from the trees. The power of it vibrated through my bones, a reminder of the strength we held together.

I growled the second time, and they howled in response the second time. The harmony was perfect, a bond forged through blood and loyalty that no betrayal could fully break.

The last time, we all did it together. I stopped, but they continued. Their howls filled the field, echoing into the morning sky as a declaration of unity and strength.

They didn’t stop, until I lifted a hand to stop them. The silence that followed was profound, the air still humming with the power of their voices.

"Good morning everyone," I said, and smiled. The expression felt foreign on my face after so long, but it was genuine, a small bridge back to the pack I had neglected.

"Good morning alpha," they replied in unison, their voices strong and steady, a chorus that filled me with pride.

I nudged my head towards Blane, and Daniel.

They got the message immediately, and ran to me. Their movements were quick and efficient, the training evident in every step.

"Good morning alpha. You look sharp," Daniel said, his usual grin in place as he stopped before me. Trust him to always be on the side of goofiness, even in the most serious moments.

"Do we take this as preparation for what is to come?" Blane asked, his voice more serious, his eyes scanning the field as if already anticipating the battles ahead.

"I don’t know what is coming yet, Blane. But you’re right about one thing. We need to be prepared at all times," I replied, my gaze sweeping over the wolves gathered around us.

"What do we do now, alpha?" Daniel asked, his energy palpable as he bounced lightly on his feet.

"Train."

By the time we were done way into the afternoon, my wolves were ready to drop dead. Their bodies glistened with sweat, chests heaving as they leaned on each other for support, the exhaustion clear in every line of their faces.

I laughed as they groaned in agony. It wasn’t always going to be this tough, but I needed to see their level of endurance. The sound of my laughter surprised even me, a rare moment of lightness after so many dark days.

I gathered them around, after instructing Blane to go see to it that the kitchen brought their meals, and some water to the field. The wolves collapsed to the ground in a loose circle, their bodies sprawled in various states of exhaustion but their spirits still high.

They all sat on the ground, in a circle around me. The grass was trampled from the morning’s training, the earth warm from the sun now high in the sky.

"Hey everyone. I know I’ve been missing in your training sessions for an entire month. I’ve just been trying to reboot. But today, I was reminded how much fun it is to be a Wolf."

"Are we going to train this way, everyday?" Someone asked, and the others instantly echoed their sentiments, their groans mixing with reluctant laughter.

"It isn’t wise to do so. I just needed to test your level of endurance. It is safe to say that Daniel has done a damn good job with you lots. I’m confident that no matter what happens next, we’ll survive, if we fight side by side. Who else has that confidence?"

They cheered, and howled in response, the sound rising again as one, a powerful declaration that filled the field and lifted my spirits.

"Moving on, I think we must address the issue of betrayal revolving around one of us," everywhere went silent again.

It was so silent, one could hear the whooshings of spirit bodies. The mood shifted instantly, the earlier camaraderie giving way to a tense alertness as they waited for my next words.

"Hazel is facing a lot of possible punishments because he might have betrayed me. I’m not going to tell you what to do, but I also think I’ve been a lot more merciful. Don’t be surprised when going forward, I’m not as merciful as I used to be. This is just my way of warning everyone here. One more betrayal, and I’d have to make a public example out of that person. I promise you on my title as your alpha, you don’t want to be that person. So if you’ve noticed anyone acting weird, it would be in your best interest to come forward with that information. I hope we’re clear about this?"

I watched as they all replied positively in agreement, their nods and murmurs a unified front that reinforced the bond between us.

Nodding my head, I turned around, and walked over to where Blane stood. His expression was serious, his eyes scanning the field as if already anticipating the next threat.

I noticed he had been trying to get my attention all along. The urgency in his posture was clear, a silent signal that something important had come up.

"What if Blane?" I asked on reaching him, my voice low as I stopped beside him.

"One of the guards at the gate just bought some information."

"What’s the information?"

"The new alpha of MoonRay pack wants to speak with you. I think you have to hurry up and meet up with her."

"Why?" I asked, my brows furrowing as I processed the news.

"Because Alpha Daisy is already on her way to speak to her."

"Bitch!" I muttered under my breath, already on my way out of the field.
