In the hospital corridor, Xu Bin's head was wrapped in bandages, an IV drip attached, and his face and body still smeared with blood.
Sitting beside him, his mother-in-law, Shen Ruyu, her face dark with anger, scolded, "You blind idiot, who did you go picking a fight with?"
"A mere security guard dared to block the boss's car. You're asking for it."
Xu Bin kept his head down, enduring her scolding, his mind drifting back to how he ended up in the hospital.
Xu Bin was a security guard at the entrance of Xinhui Real Estate. That day, a Ferrari was parked at the entrance, honking incessantly, as if urging someone to their death.
Xu Bin rushed out, "Miss, this is the staff parking lot. Visitors, please park in the underground garage."
The window of the Ferrari rolled down, revealing a woman with a perm and sunglasses, who immediately flew into a rage, taking off her sunglasses and throwing them at him, "You fucking guard, who are you calling 'miss'?"
"No, I didn't—"
Xu Bin patiently explained, "This barrier is electronically controlled. Only registered vehicles can enter."
"You old bastard, even my license plate isn't registered?"
The woman in the Ferrari, enraged, revved her engine and rammed through the barrier.
