Chapter 225
Chapter 225
"Not bad, brat!"
"Your strength isn’t bad either, old man!"
The two of them praised each other at the same time.
"Hahahahaha!"
After speaking, both of them burst into laughter at the same time. Whitebeard especially was laughing with great satisfaction.
That single exchange with Rorschach reminded him of his younger days, when he clashed with the other great pirates — especially Roger, Shiki, and Big Mom.
Rorschach changed the massive spear back into twin swords, sheathed them, and jumped onto Little Silver’s shoulder. Then, he took out a bean from his storage space.
This was the Senzu Bean he had obtained from a sign-in reward a long time ago.
Because of the Steel Balloon and his later rewards that greatly increased his physique and defense, he had never needed to use it.
Rorschach tossed the Senzu Bean to Whitebeard. The latter caught it and held it between two fingers, examining it closely before asking with a puzzled expression:
"A bean? This old man isn’t a vegetarian, you know. And there’s only one. It’s not even enough to get stuck between my teeth."
Whitebeard looked disdainful and casually tossed the bean aside.
"Don’t underestimate this little bean. It might just save your life when it matters most."
"As long as you haven’t completely died, eating this bean will instantly restore all your injuries and stamina. You won’t need to eat for ten days. You could say it’s a supreme treasure."
Seeing how dismissive Whitebeard was, Rorschach shrugged and explained the effects of the Senzu Bean.
"What?! Just this tiny bean? Are you sure you’re not lying to me?"
Whitebeard looked unconvinced, staring at Rorschach with suspicion. The effect sounded far too miraculous.
He had sailed the seas for so many years and had never heard of a medicine with such powerful effects. Now Rorschach was claiming that one small bean could instantly heal all injuries. How could he believe that?
"I have no reason to lie to you. I don’t have many of these. I wouldn’t give one away so easily if it wasn’t important."
Rorschach rolled his eyes at him.
"If it’s that precious, then why give it to me?"
Whitebeard was still doubtful, but he was also genuinely curious why Rorschach would hand over something with such god-like effects.
"Heh heh. Of course, it’s to make this little play more interesting..."
Rorschach revealed a strange smile as he spoke slowly.
Then he patted Little Silver’s neck. The dragon understood and quickly ascended before flying away from the area at high speed.
"Interesting... Shiki’s successor... young blood. Heh heh... Roger, just like you said, this sea belongs to the young people of the future. Eventually, someone will find that treasure and overturn this world."
Whitebeard looked up at the sky and muttered to himself.
Under the clear blue sky, with the waves behind him still not completely calmed, Whitebeard felt as if he had returned to that moment long ago when he drank with Roger under the cherry blossom tree.
Memories surged like a tide, flashing through his mind one after another, before finally turning into a smile at the corner of his lips.
"Heh heh... What a sly little brat."
...
Rorschach rode Little Silver and flew quickly toward Dragon Roar Island.
Because there were ordinary nurses on its back, Little Silver didn’t dare fly at full speed. Otherwise, the friction from the air would have burned them all to ashes.
Giving the Senzu Bean to Whitebeard had been a spur-of-the-moment decision.
In the original story, Whitebeard had already stopped in front of the execution platform at Marineford before Sengoku and Garp even made their move. A large part of that was due to the damage from "Filial Son" Squard’s stab, as well as his old age and declining strength.
The Senzu Bean Rorschach gave him was meant to let him see what would happen if Whitebeard, after fighting Akainu, fully recovered and then beat Akainu up before clashing with Sengoku and the others.
That scene would definitely be very interesting — Whitebeard at full strength in his old age.
He couldn’t help but wonder how the Marines and Blackbeard would react when they saw Whitebeard, on the verge of death, pull out a bean and return to his prime.
Just thinking about it made Rorschach feel amused.
The words he left behind before departing also carried this meaning.
He planned to watch the "Summit War" from high in the sky like a live broadcast and see how the story, led by Whitebeard and the Marines, would unfold.
As for his previous idea of obtaining the Tremor-Tremor Fruit from Whitebeard, he had temporarily set it aside.
Whether Whitebeard died in this war or not, he had ways to get the fruit. If he died, he would carry out his original plan. If he survived... that would be even better. He could have another fight with Whitebeard — though it would be Whitebeard’s final battle in this life.
That was why Rorschach had been so casual about giving away such a precious item. He had almost zero chance of needing it himself, and with his protection, the chances of anyone on his ship needing it were also basically zero.
Back at Dragon Roar Island.
Nami looked at Rorschach speechlessly as he returned with yet another group of beautiful women.
She no longer had the energy to complain about this man’s luck with women.
In a single day, he had brought back two completely different batches of beauties — dancers and maids in the morning, and nurses in the evening.
After settling the medical team nurses, Rorschach instructed Indigo to teach them biology and chemistry whenever he had free time. Since there were rarely any injured people on the ship, the nurses were quite idle. Rorschach planned to have them assist Indigo with research during the day... and do other things at night.
After a hearty dinner that night, Rorschach called for Robin and followed her back to her room.
Robin’s room was very spacious, but almost the entire space was occupied by bookshelves and cabinets filled with books. Her workspace was covered with stacks of books and papers. On the desk sat a small, dim desk lamp.
The light illuminated an open book, with a notebook beside it where she had been recording her research notes.
