Chapter 409 - 19: Taking 5 Cities in a Row
"You’ll never get another chance to attack my territory. What’s more, I’ll be able to conquer yours."
"The four territories you just conquered, along with your own, will all be mine!"
Brelli’s cousin grew more excited the more he thought about it. Al’s army had conquered the territories of the four lords who came to support him, which proved how strong Al was.
But, if he could just kill Al, all of it would be his.
"Hahaha, Al, you arrogant fool! You thought you could conquer my territory just by bringing an army of a hundred thousand, didn’t you?"
"Now, you’re surrounded by my army. As soon as I kill you, your territories will all be mine!!"
"Everyone, charge!"
"Kill Al! Whoever brings me his head will be promoted to general!"
The cry from Brelli’s cousin sent his army’s morale surging once more. They threw themselves into the fray, clashing in a brutal melee with Al’s forces.
The air filled with battle cries, the clash of steel, and the sickening sound of weapons piercing flesh.
Al stroked the weapon in his hand and murmured, "I’m surrounded by you?"
"No, you’re wrong. *You’re* the one who’s surrounded!"
"Admitting your mistake? Asking me to call off the encirclement?" Brelli’s cousin hadn’t heard Al clearly and assumed he was begging for mercy.
So, he gathered all his strength and bellowed at the sky, "In your dreams! It’s too late!"
The ear-splitting scream made him instinctively squint his eyes shut from the sheer effort.
"All I want now is for you to die! I’ll only be able to rest easy once you’re dead and I’ve taken your territory!!!"
"Hmm?"
Brelli’s cousin glanced around in confusion. In the middle of his bellowing, the battlefield had suddenly fallen silent. All the noise was gone, leaving only the echo of his own voice.
Around him, his soldiers were all frozen in their battle poses, completely still.
"What’s wrong with you all?"
He gently pushed a soldier beside him. The soldier collapsed limply, the famously sturdy body of a Titan Clan member seemingly gone.
"CLANG~"
A clang of armor echoed as the soldier’s body disintegrated on impact, scattering in all directions. From the gaps in the plates, green plants could be seen sprouting and growing rapidly.
"What did you do?"
"Al, what did you do? My soldiers... how could this happen?"
"This isn’t a power of the Titan Race. How on earth did you do this?"
"Could it be... the legendary Magic?"
(The Titan Race has no magic units. Due to their unique environment, their ranged options are also extremely limited. However, their melee combat abilities are incredibly strong, with every member being a Warrior.)
Al paid him no mind, merely turning to offer a quiet word of thanks to the cloaked figures beside him.
"There’s no need to thank us. We all serve the Lord." A pleasant voice drifted from beneath one of the hoods.
The moment Brelli’s cousin led his army down from the city and onto the plain, the elves had already begun their spellcasting.
They had scattered tiny seeds, like grass seeds and mushroom spores, into the air.
Propelled by Spiritual Energy, these seeds drifted on the wind. Then, in the heat of battle, they were either inhaled by the soldiers of both armies or lodged themselves inside their armor.
However, this method was useless against the Titan Race’s Heavy Armor Warriors because their armor was Repulsive Armor. The seeds drifting on the wind couldn’t enter their bodies, which was why the elves had specifically targeted them.
Once the Heavy Armor Warriors were routed, the remaining soldiers fought even more fiercely. Their labored breathing only caused them to inhale more and more of the seeds.
Then, guided by the elves, the seeds inside the bodies of Brelli’s cousin’s soldiers instantly sprouted. Using their flesh and blood as nutrients, the plants grew with explosive speed, snuffing out their lives in a single moment.
Even some of the reinforcing soldiers in the distance, who were fleeing due to collapsing morale, met the same fate. Only those who had fled far enough to escape the elves’ spell range were lucky enough to escape with their lives.
Al’s men, on the other hand, had no need to worry about the seeds. Any seeds that entered their bodies would be absorbed. Far from being harmful, they actually enhanced their physical strength.
As for any seeds on their clothes or armor, they could simply wash them off in a bath after the battle.
Then, Al said to the soldiers beside him, "Seize him. Take him back for questioning!"
A few soldiers pushed aside the surrounding enemies—now little more than grotesque planters—and moved forward to grab the muttering Brelli’s cousin.
"No, I’ll kill you!"
"Al, I’m going to kill you!"
"Everything you have is mine!!"
"It’s all mine!!"
The devastating blow had clearly unhinged Brelli’s cousin. He struggled violently, trying to lunge at Al.
Al frowned as he watched the man’s crazed antics.
He had wanted to capture Brelli’s cousin because the Lord needed to gather more information.
He now realized that Lin Yu had been bluffing him before. However, he didn’t regret telling the truth; on the contrary, he was filled with admiration for Lin Yu’s wisdom.
That was why he was doing his utmost to capture some Titan Race lords for Lin Yu.
"Forget it. Kill him."
"Don’t let him sully the Lord’s sight in this crazed state."
Subsequently, Al turned and led his men towards the city.
"Al! I’m going to kill..."
Behind him, amid his frantic screams, Brelli’s cousin lost his head.
Having lost their lord, the defenders on the city walls panicked and scattered. The remaining soldiers inside the city also dropped their weapons and fled.
Al and his soldiers simply pushed open the city gates and walked into the City Lord’s Mansion.
Meanwhile, in the territories of the four lords who had come to support Brelli’s cousin.
The ruined gates and walls, along with the corpses littering the ground, were all testaments to the fierce battles that had taken place.
Inside the Lord’s Mansion of each of these territories, Dong Lin, Manqiluo, Rose, and Amuti Goodwin stood waiting.
Their hands were placed on the Territory Cores as they awaited Lin Yu’s next move.
