Chapter 400 - 16: Reincarnation Hall
With his selection complete, Lin Yu now had two Territory Characteristic Upgrade Points.
Staring at the two Territory Characteristic Upgrade Points in his hand, Lin Yu surveyed his list of territory characteristics: Nature Dominator, Lush Foliage III, Rapid Growth II, Space-Time Ripple, Robust Growth III, Spatial Protection III, Towering Giant Wood, World Vein Branches (containing the Glacier Branch), Elemental Rule Manipulation, Compressed Space, and Double Defense.
His Territory Core was only level 4, yet he already had eleven territory characteristics. ’As expected of a mythic-grade Territory Core, I guess?’
Nature Dominator—’I can’t imagine what the upgraded effect would be. If there’s nothing else I absolutely have to upgrade, I could take a gamble on this. It would be amazing if it let me snatch control of animals that already have masters.’
Lush Foliage III—’Upgrading from II to III expanded the requirement reduction from just nature-type buildings to all buildings. If upgrading to IV expanded the recruitment cost reduction from something like ice pillars to actual citizens, that would be a terrible trade-off.’
Rapid Growth II—’Upgrading to level II turned it from an active ability into a passive. I wonder if another upgrade would increase the growth multiplier. Definitely worth considering. A solid backup choice.’
Space-Time Ripple—’Never been upgraded. I have two uses left. This characteristic is so powerful, I can’t even guess what an upgrade would do. Also worth considering. Another backup.’
Robust Growth III—’Don’t touch.’
Spatial Protection III—’Don’t you dare touch.’
Towering Giant Wood—’A useless characteristic. Just for show.’
World Vein Branches (containing the Glacier Branch)—’The World Tree’s World Vein Branches are still searching randomly through the void. The last time it finished a search, the World Tree gained a whole new sub-base.’
’It’s a very useful characteristic, but the plan for this phase is to pull the territory into the main Cosmos. I’m afraid upgrading this might cause an accident, so I’d better not touch this one either.’
Elemental Rule Manipulation—’A great tool for manipulating terrain. Another one worth looking forward to.’
Compressed Space—’Seems useless for now.’
Double Defense—’A somewhat useful characteristic.’
After reviewing everything, the characteristics Lin Yu wanted to upgrade were: Nature Dominator, Rapid Growth II, Space-Time Ripple, and Elemental Rule Manipulation.
However, the one that tempted him most was Space-Time Ripple. The ability had a limited number of uses, so upgrading it sooner meant greater long-term benefits. Besides, he still had two uses left, and the blueprints he’d gotten from it before had been a massive help to his territory.
’Nature Dominator is too much of a gamble, while Rapid Growth II and Elemental Rule Manipulation are good enough for now.’
In the end, Lin Yu chose to upgrade Space-Time Ripple. After the upgrade, it became:
-----------------
[Space-Time Ripple II]: The World Tree possesses the ability to obtain information from the All Heavens and Myriads of Realms.
Each time the Lord Core levels up, you can obtain one building blueprint from the All Heavens and Myriads of Realms related to the World Tree.
When drawing a blueprint, you may use qualifiers to define the scope of the drawing. Current available qualifiers: 1.
Current uses available: 2
-----------------
"Use qualifiers to define the scope?"
Lin Yu fell into deep thought as he read the description for the upgraded Space-Time Ripple.
’If I had enough qualifiers, I could even pull a specific building.’
’For example: The Elf Race’s Tree of Life from the Azeroth Continent.’
’Three qualifiers, and I could get the Elf Race’s main base. It might even come with their entire tech tree.’
’Should I use my last upgrade point? With two qualifiers, I could be much more specific.’
After a moment of thought, Lin Yu decided to stick to the rule he’d set for himself: always keep one upgrade point in reserve for emergencies. He had only used one point, and he couldn’t so casually break his own rule.
’First, let me think... How can I define the scope of the blueprint with only one qualifier?’
’Barracks? Defense? Enhancement? Leveling? Aerial? Portal? ...’
Countless qualifiers flashed through Lin Yu’s mind. His territory looked good, but it was far from perfect.
There were still many gaps to fill, especially in the sky and under the sea. Right now, his territory was relying on Druids and the Demon Race to cover those areas; he didn’t have any other respectable troops for them.
The Cloud Concealed Immortal Feather Pavilion and the tavern hadn’t produced any results. Lin Yu suspected it was because there were no wild heroes in his territory.
In other words, the tournament organizers hadn’t released any wild heroes.
To put it another way, no wild heroes had spawned...
Lin Yu guessed that he might have to wait until the fourth stage, after his territory entered the main Cosmos, for wild, unaligned heroes (those not belonging to any lord) to appear.
Drowning in the vast sea of possible qualifiers, Lin Yu’s head began to spin.
’Maybe I should just merge with the World Tree and borrow its mythic-grade processing power to run some simulations.’
Just as he was thinking this and about to merge deeply with the World Tree again...
’Wait...’
A sudden flash of inspiration struck him, and his eyes lit up with excitement.
He immediately communicated with the World Tree and chose to use Space-Time Ripple.
[Please define the building blueprint you wish to draw.]
"Mythic-grade!"
[You are about to draw a ’mythic-grade building blueprint.’ Confirm?]
"Confirm!"
Accompanied by a blinding, seven-colored flash of light, a rainbow-hued building blueprint appeared in Lin Yu’s hands.
"HOLY SHIT—"
"It actually worked???"
Lin Yu was beside himself with excitement, hastily examining the building blueprint in his hand.
-----------------
[Name]: Reincarnation Hall
[Category]: Universal Wonder
[Grade]: Mythic (Rainbow)
[Quantity]: Unique (One per territory)
[Description]: A legendary building that possesses incredible abilities.
When constructed in a territory, the souls of the dead can pass through this building to be reincarnated. They will be reborn as infants within the territory’s borders, regaining the status of the living.
Reincarnation involves the ’delusion of the womb,’ but after reaching adulthood, there is a chance for individuals to awaken memories of their past lives.
Any unaligned, non-territory souls within the territory will be forcibly drawn into the Reincarnation Hall. They can be consumed to provide the hall with Soul Power, which can be used to raise its level.
-----------------
After reading the description of the building blueprint, Lin Yu made a decision. From now on, no matter what other qualifiers he used, he would always add "mythic-grade" before all of them when drawing a blueprint.
That way, no matter how he defined the rest, whatever he got would be mythic-grade.
