Chapter 30: The First C-Rank Mission
Second-year Class A's practical exam ended in the blink of an eye.
Combining it with yesterday's theory exam results, Ishida Yū announced the rankings for this final exam.
Without a doubt, first place was Natsuki.
"Damn it!"
Kushina said somewhat unwillingly, "Third place again!"
"It's not your fault."
Natsuki comforted her, "Sealing techniques aren't suited for combat. If you learned Wind Release like Minato, maybe you would already be first."
What he said was not false.
Because the difficulty of learning sealing techniques was far higher than ordinary ninjutsu like Water Release.
If Kushina did not learn sealing techniques, she could save a lot of time.
Unfortunately, she was the future Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. She could skip learning anything else, but sealing techniques were necessary.
"Hard to say."
Kushina shook her head and said, "Minato can't beat you, so I probably can't beat you either."
Minato wanted to speak but stopped.
Did that mean she could beat him? Could the two of them not consider his feelings when chatting?
"No one can say for sure what will happen in the future."
Natsuki said with a smile.
Once Kushina became the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, even with cheats, he would be suppressed for quite a long time.
"I agree with that."
Minato nodded.
He and Natsuki were friends, and also rivals.
Although he had lost today, just as Jiraiya had said, he could not lose confidence.
Natsuki glanced at him.
In the original work, Minato had never used Wind Release.
The reason was simple. Wind Release, or rather, most ninjutsu, did not suit the Flying Thunder God Technique.
The most compatible ninjutsu was still the Rasengan.
It did not require hand seals, its release speed was fast, and its power was great.
Before the Rasengan was developed, Minato used the Flying Thunder God Technique mostly with kunai and shuriken.
Tobirama was similar.
His most classic battle was using the Flying Thunder God Technique with kunai to kill Madara's younger brother, Uchiha Izuna.
Kunai, shuriken, and the Rasengan were already enough to deal with most shinobi.
It was still the same saying. Shinobi were basically fragile.
The reason Minato was using Wind Release now was entirely because of Natsuki's butterfly effect.
To defeat him, he had gone to learn Wind Release.
Natsuki thought about it. He could try developing the Rasengan in advance. If that did not work, he could ask Minato to help develop it.
Although it would take Minato's idea, if he learned the Rasengan early, his strength would definitely surpass his original version.
"Want to come to my place for lunch?"
Natsuki invited them, "I'll cook personally."
Kushina's eyes immediately lit up, and she quickly nodded.
Thinking of that indescribably wonderful taste, Minato also agreed without hesitation.
Natsuki also called Nonō and Nawaki, then they returned to the Konoha Orphanage together.
"Natsuki!"
Nawaki said very happily, "My sister has already agreed to let me go out with you for missions."
"Missions?"
Minato was suddenly shocked.
"Natsuki brought it up."
Nawaki briefly explained the cause and process.
Minato could not help freezing.
He had thought he was already working very hard, but he had not expected Natsuki to work even harder than him.
He had actually thought of going outside the village to do missions in advance?
Minato immediately felt a strong sense of urgency.
If this continued, the gap between him and Natsuki would grow larger and larger.
He also had to go do missions!
After lunch, Minato ran off at lightning speed.
Natsuki could not help smiling.
Pushing the future Fourth Hokage to this point was something he could feel proud of.
The first day of summer vacation.
Natsuki arrived at Tsunade's home.
Her house was located near the Hokage Rock, within the Senju Clan's compound. It was very large, but rather quiet.
For various reasons, the Senju Clan had already integrated into Konoha.
Added to the fact that Wood Release was difficult to reproduce, the only well-known members of the Senju Clan now were Tsunade and Nawaki.
Natsuki raised his hand and knocked on the door.
The door opened, and Tsunade, wearing casual clothes, entered his sight.
His eyes could not help lighting up.
Tsunade usually wore a Jonin vest, giving off more of a heroic air.
But after changing into white casual clothes, her graceful figure was immediately revealed completely.
"Have you eaten breakfast?"
Tsunade was not surprised by his arrival and asked, "If you haven't, you can eat with us."
"I've already eaten. Thank you, Tsunade-sama."
Natsuki answered.
"Nawaki is still eating. Come in and wait."
Tsunade moved aside and said.
Natsuki nodded, took off his shoes, and walked into the living room.
He immediately met Nawaki's gaze.
Without needing him to speak, Natsuki read two words from it. Save me!
Doubt could not help appearing in Natsuki's heart. Was Tsunade's cooking really that bad?
He looked at Nawaki and spread his hands.
You want me to save you, but how?
Tell Tsunade that her cooking was bad and ask her to let him cook instead?
Then he would probably be carried out lying down today.
In the end, Nawaki finished breakfast while wearing a mask of pain.
"Outside the village is different from inside the village. You must always be careful."
Tsunade warned.
"Sister, don't worry. There won't be any problems."
Nawaki said impatiently, "Alright, Natsuki and I will leave first. Wait for us to come back."
"Listen properly!"
Tsunade glared at him and said.
Nawaki did not answer and turned to run.
"Natsuki, keep an eye on him for me."
Tsunade's attitude softened as she said, "Nawaki is rather rash."
Nawaki was basically a copy of Uzumaki Naruto.
Although he had a cheerful personality, he did not pay attention to details.
He had the feeling of someone who did not have the fate of a protagonist, but had the illness of one.
"I understand."
Natsuki nodded, then turned and caught up with Nawaki.
The two of them soon arrived at Orochimaru's residence.
Orochimaru was already standing at the entrance waiting.
"Sensei!"
Nawaki asked excitedly, "What is our first mission?"
"Go to the northwest of the Land of Fire and eliminate bandits."
Orochimaru answered, "The mission rank is C-rank."
"Why is it only C-rank?"
Nawaki's expression froze.
"Don't aim too high."
Orochimaru glanced at him and said, "Doing a C-rank mission for your first mission is already an exception."
Normally, after becoming shinobi, they could only do D-rank missions for quite a long time.
For example, Naruto's Team Seven only received a C-rank mission related to the Land of Waves after doing many D-rank missions.
"Are there wandering shinobi among the bandits?"
Natsuki thought for a moment and asked.
"The bandit leader is a Genin, but according to the client, he may also be a Chunin."
Orochimaru said casually, "If he is a Chunin, this mission will be upgraded to B-rank."
"Leave that leader to me!"
Nawaki answered first.
"This is a team mission."
Orochimaru reminded him, "And there are quite a few bandits, so you need a reasonable plan."
"Then Nawaki-senpai and I will make a plan."
Natsuki immediately said.
Orochimaru nodded slightly and said, "Let's go. We'll talk on the road."
Natsuki and Nawaki were both doing missions for the first time, so there were many details they did not understand. It could only be explained by him, their Sensei.
(To be continued.)
