Chapter 106: God
"Gabriel!"
Hearing the legendary name of Gabriel, Akeno was startled.
Only then did she realize that a strange woman had appeared beside Yasuhiro.
She had a perfect figure and an aura of holiness that was impossible to look at directly.
Most importantly, twelve pure wings unfolded behind her back.
"Perhaps," Gabriel replied softly.
"Lady Gabriel, you should understand that a vessel holding the presence of the biblical god holds great significance for us."
"If this is not handled properly, it could even turn the hard won peace into total chaos." Baraqiel warned.
"You don't need to worry about that, as heaven knows exactly what we are doing." Gabriel retorted unhappily.
Hearing Gabriel's words, Baraqiel came to his senses and realized he had overstepped his bounds.
The matter had greatly impacted him and caused him to speak out of turn.
He was now a fallen angel, no longer an angel warrior serving under the four seraphs.
The affairs of heaven were none of his business. As a fallen angel, he had no right to interfere.
Baraqiel clearly understood that while the identity of the saint was far less important than the biblical god, he represented importance to the three factions.
He could even be considered a symbol of the creator that had always existed in their deepest memories.
"Lady Gabriel, this may attract a combined attack from the underworld or even from us." Baraqiel stated.
What Baraqiel said wasn't an exaggeration.
This situation was a harbinger of disaster in a sense.
"If you have the guts, then bring it on." Yasuhiro challenged.
To someone like Akeno who didn't know the truth, Yasuhiro sounded like arrogant.
However, Baraqiel and Gabriel knew better.
These words came out of his mouth with a natural ease.
In fact, if there had been even the slightest hint of compromise in his words.
Baraqiel and Gabriel would have doubted whether the person before them was still the same man who had suppressed all of europe and silenced numerous factions.
"I will report this to our governor general exactly as it is," Baraqiel noted.
Baraqiel spread his wings and was preparing to leave.
He took a deep look at his daughter and sighed heavily. His voice was filled with worry and sorrow.
By associating with a vessel of the god, she was inevitably drawn into the unknown from which she couldn't escape.
As a father, how could he not be worried?
The only consolation was that the knot in Akeno's heart seemed to have loosened slightly.
Was it because of this saint or because she had given up her fallen angel power or something else entirely?
Regardless, his daughter no longer seemed as averse to seeing him as before.
Meanwhile, the fallen angels and stray exorcists lying on the ground watched Baraqiel disappear into the horizon.
Their expressions were filled with despair.
They knew that they had been abandoned, and their next fate was to be imprisoned and taken back to the church for trial.
It wasn't that Baraqiel didn't want to save them.
After learning about the presence of the biblical god in Yasuhiro, these people seemed too insignificant.
He needed to deliver the information to Azazel as soon as possible without any delay.
With Gabriel standing by his side, even if Baraqiel wanted to forcibly rescue the prisoners, he didn't have the ability to do so.
He might have even died right there.
Although it was cruel, that was the truth.
Their lives were too small in the grand scheme of things.
Gabriel didn't waste any more words.
With a wave of her hand, a magic circle rose beneath the captives amidst their deathly pale faces.
A golden light shone, and they vanished from the spot.
Gabriel transported them to the church in europe, where they awaited their deserved trial.
"He has already flown out of Kuoh. If you want to have a heart to heart talk with your father, it isn't too late to catch up now."
"With his strength, he can sense you following him." Yasuhiro continuer as he looked at Akeno who was staring blankly in the direction her father had left.
"Forget it. I don't know how I can face him now," Akeno shook her head and replied.
Yasuhiro didn't have much of a position to interfere in this matter. He just wanted things to take their natural course.
"She is actually his daughter!?" Gabriel asked in surprise.
