Chapter 96: Hunting Raynare

"Are going to hunt down Raynare?" Issei said with a complicated expression.

He already knew the answer in his heart but he still held onto a sliver of hope.

Yasuhiro nodded noncommittally.

Although Raynare deliberately got close to Issei purely to monitor him, she was still ex.

Even though he only had a single date with Yuuma Amano, she held a special place in his heart.

First love is often the most unforgettable.

Issei was deceived and killed by her.

He would have said goodbye to this world a long time ago if he hadn't been reincarnated as a devil by Rias.

Despite his pervert nature his practical experience was basically zero.

He had never even held the hand of a girl before.

What Raynare did to him undoubtedly caused a massive emotional wound.

It hurt to the point that he wanted to escape reality and avoid facing it for the rest of his life.

Even though he knew from Yasuhiro that Raynare was hiding in the abandoned church, he never took any action.

He just deceived himself and numbed his mind to forget about it.

Unless Raynare appeared right in front of him or someone like Yasuhiro forced him to resolve his conflict, he'd never dare to face his trauma.

"I heard from the president that the three factions are in a period of peace with a truce."

" Wouldn't it cause a conflict with the fallen angels if we rashly invaded their territory?" Issei asked.

Yasuhiro shook his head, seeing his brother still trying to escape and avoid confronting his romance.

This was undoubtedly a manifestation of cowardice and an inability to face reality.

"If we were going to fight, we would have done it already. The fallen angels were in the wrong first by occupying the church."

" That is undoubtedly a provocation against heaven." Yasuhiro explained.

"Nice to meet you, red dragon emperor and it has been a long time, Ddraig."

Gabriel suddenly spoke up which startled Issei.

He had subconsciously overlooked the person standing next to Yasuhiro.

Even though he knew there were two people, this person felt like a normal passerby in a crowd.

She had a low presence and he ignored her without realizing it.

This was a spell Gabriel cast on herself to conceal her appearance and figure.

It lowered her presence so she could avoid unnecessary trouble when walking in the human world.

Just like when she first met Sona and her peerage, if Gabriel hadn't spoken up, the devils wouldn't have noticed her standing right next to them.

"It has been a long time, little girl who was always by the side of biblical god."

Suddenly, the boosted gear appeared on Issei's hand.

The gem inlaid in the center of the gauntlet shone brightly.

Ddraig was so ancient that calling Gabriel a little girl was perfectly acceptable.

He was a dragon who was born at the beginning of the world making him far more ancient than the old maous or the four seraphs.

"It seems you have found an interesting one this time."

"This generation of the red dragon emperor should be able to behave himself," Gabriel stated bluntly.

Ddraig smiled bitterly to himself. Such a weak host was a burden he could only bear alone.

The fated battle between the red dragon emperor and the white dragon emperor throughout history had always disrupted the peace of all the pantheons with heaven being the most troubled.

The main battlefield between the two heavenly dragons was always in the human world and the largest faction in the human world was the church.

Every fateful battle between the red dragon emperor and the white dragon emperor was like a massive catastrophe, and heaven and the church were the ones who had to clean up the mess.

Heaven wasn't usually friendly towards the hosts of the white dragon emperor and the red dragon emperor.

A red dragon emperor who was so fragile and flawed in character was exactly what heaven and the church wanted to see.

Even causing trouble required actual ability.

Someone like Issei, who could be called the weakest red dragon emperor in history wasn't insulted because Ddraig looked down on his host.

It was because even Ddraig couldn't see Issei having the ability to cause any real trouble, let alone anything else.

As for his future confrontation with their rival, Ddraig had given up long ago.

Faced with Vali, Ddraig couldn't think of any other possibility but Issei being killed on the spot.

The only thing Issei didn't need to worry about was his personal safety.

Putting aside his terrifyingly powerful brother, having Rias as his master meant his life was greatly guaranteed
