DxD: The Holy Knight!

Chapter 90: She's my girlfriend

"You are Gabriel, one of the four seraphs?" Rias asked uncertainly.

She looked at Gabriel in front of her, unable to believe that the seraph who controlled heaven and was second only to the biblical god would actually appear here.

"You have seen me before," Gabriel spoke gently as always, her words sounding somewhat peculiar.

"Yes, Lady Gabriel. I had the honor of meeting you a few years ago when I was with my brother at the border of the underworld," Rias answered.

The images or paintings of the four seraphs always had blurry faces.

Angels were messengers of the biblical god, representing nobility and purity.

In the eyes of many believers, the four seraphs were the closest beings to the biblical god in heaven.

Their faces were like a divine countenance that could not be looked at directly.

The veil of mystery surrounding the seraphs vanished before the powerful figures of other pantheons.

Many pantheons disdained the way heaven hide mystery to gather faith.

The greek pantheon was the most prominent among them.

The greek pantheon celebrated the bravery and greatness of its gods throughout its territory, wishing to fill the entire world with statues and images so that all ordinary humans who saw them would bow down in worship.

It was as if they were afraid that others would not recognize them.

Zeus, the king of the gods in the greek pantheon, repeatedly and publicly criticized the behavior of angels in political settings, finding fault with everything they did.

This secrecy was one of his main criticisms.

Not to mention that the people in heaven ignored it, even other pantheons just treated it as a joke.

Everyone knew that the greek pantheon, which was jokingly called the most human like faction, was just jealous of the biblical god who held the vast majority of human faith worldwide.

But what did it matter if someone was jealous or wished to take the place of the god?

In the present moment, even when the god had died, heaven and the church still firmly controlled the greatest source of faith in the world.

In an era where humans lost their reverence and awe for the divine, the loss of faith far exceeded the bottom line of many supernatural factions.

Some smaller pantheons might only have a few believers in their local areas, and humans around the world might not even have heard of some of their gods.

Even though factions like those of northern europe and greece were well known worldwide, they had few followers outside of their local communities.

In this respect, they were worlds apart from the church.

The followers of the church were spread all over the world.

Even within the spheres of influence of other pantheons, there were believers of the biblical god, which was something that countless other gods were helpless about.

This was true even as the era of atheism and lack of faith continued.

Most of the faith in the world still resided in the church and in heaven.

This was a fact that no other pantheon could shake.

"Let me formally introduce her. This is Gabriel, one of the four seraphs and also my teacher," Yasuhiro said.

Yasuhiro introduced Gabriel first, then walked to the side of Sona.

He put his arm around her petite shoulder and said intimately, "This is my girlfriend, Sona Sitri."

His declaration made Sona feel a slight thrill.

She didn't think Yasuhiro was the kind of coward who couldn't withstand the pressure from a seraph or someone who wouldn't dare admit to his relationship with a devil.

Though, publicly announcing his romance with a devil to the church and heaven represented a heavy choice.

It was just like when she announced to the four maous that she and Yasuhiro would be each other's everything in this life.

Then, Yasuhiro introduced the rest of the girls in the room to Gabriel making no attempt to hide anything about his relationship with them.

His frankness and straightforwardness delighted Sona and her peerage.

Compared to their happy mood, Gabriel could only smile bitterly.

She had known about their relationship from the beginning but she still harbored an unrealistic fantasy that it was just a fleeting romance.

Now, a firm statement from Yasuhiro undoubtedly shattered her illusions.

Gabriel understood that all she could do now was to keep his true identity a secret for the time being, to prevent the news from reaching the church and heaven too early.

She didn't want to change his mind.

His behavior during his time at the church had proven that once he made a decision, no one in the world could stop or change it.

He would see it through to the end, and that was his stubbornness and persistence.

Perhaps it was also due to his innate nature as the saint of dawn.

Rias and her position was undoubtedly awkward.

Everyone present except her was romantically involved with Yasuhiro in some way.

She could only stand there awkwardly, completely out of place with the atmosphere around her, indulging in self deception and hypnosis.

I'm just a maid right now, just a maid.

When she learned that Yasuhiro was actually a student of Gabriel, she couldn't help but be shocked and almost cried out.

Rias suddenly realized that the boy in front of her was shrouded in layers of mystery.

From the initial information about his identity as a holy knight obtained from clan intelligence to her hasty conclusion that he was a holy knight and holy sword wielder upon seeing his weapon, she had constantly misjudged him.

Then, in the illusion of dorte, she deduced that Yasuhiro was one of the burial agency members.

Before she could even calmly digest that news, it was now revealed that he was a student of Gabriel.

Which of these identities was his true one or were all these shocking titles real?

An identity that ordinary people pursued their whole lives but could never obtain seemed easily acquired by him.

If all of these were true and accumulated in Yasuhiro, then his importance to the church was self evident.

He was probably second only to that madman.

Rias felt more worried than ever about Sona and her love life.

She sensed that Gabriel and her gaze was a little off.

Her eyes would often linger on the maid outfit Rias was wearing, and there was a slight hint of shyness in her expression.

Rias realized that these maid outfits were intended for Gabriel.

She had made an accurate judgment the moment she saw the angel and was amazed by her flawless figure.

She was later surprised by her identity as one of the four seraphs and completely forgot about the outfit for a while.

Making an angel, especially Gabriel wear a maid outfit was something only Yasuhiro could have conceived of and accomplished.
