Dual World Apocalypse: My Harem Gives Me 10x Rewards

Chapter 78: [Weekly Bonus - 1/4] Step 78 to Greatness: Not Everyone Likes A Blast From The Past

Sera walked back from the chicken pen, covered with feathers and dirt. The birds had pecked her too, leaving bruises all over. However, her smile outshone her dishevelled appearance.

In her hands, she held a leaf bowl filled with several fresh eggs, which were the source of her pride.

Hannah, who had been walking toward the pond to freshen up, noticed her and rushed over with concern.

"Sera! What happened to you?" Hannah asked, staring at her messy appearance.

Instead of replying, Sera turned to look at the chicken pen. The hens inside were watching her, but their gaze didn’t have the hostility. Instead, it looked like they had finally accepted her as a worthy opponent after their intense battle.

Sera smirked, noticing their gaze, and puffed her chest out.

"It was a great battle," she said, holding up the leaf bowl. "But I won."

"..."

Sera’s self-heroism baffled Hannah. She did all that for some eggs? Who even cared about eggs when they had crabs, boars, and chicken jerky to eat along with delicious berries?

Still, she knew how wild those chickens were. Getting their eggs was certainly a feat worth praising.

"Good job," Hannah said, patting Sera’s back. "I’m sure Adri—I mean, master would be proud of you."

Now that Adrian was asleep and the women were slowly waking up, Sera and Hannah took it upon themselves to point out the changes to them, but after keeping the eggs inside the longhouse’s storage and filling their bellies first.

Unfortunately, during the tour, the girls realized that they had forgotten about one crucial detail.

They did not know the tribal language, nor did they understand English.

But not all hope was lost, since Mika could understand bits and pieces of English, thanks to her system, and managed to talk roughly.

However, the tribeswomen only seemed interested in the fence, not the mines Adrian had made near the lava ridge. Not like anyone could blame them.

After all, not only were elements such as sulphur or obsidian foreign to them, but they also didn’t know what they could be used for. It was the same for Sera and Hannah. Although they knew what they were, they couldn’t figure out a use for them in the primitive times.

"Since the game provided the buildings, there must be some use of it..." Sera mumbled, scratching her head.

"We should wait for Adrian to get up. He’ll tell us what to use them for," Hannah nodded in agreement. "Besides, since he is knocked out cold, maybe we should wrap up some things?"

"Like what?" Sera asked.

"The coconuts, duh? Did you forget about them already?"

Sera hadn’t forgotten about them, but she thought Adrian would want to be part of that ’expedition’. Then again, he was tired so much because he kept doing everything on his own.

It would do him and the tribe good to do some things themselves. If they didn’t, then wouldn’t they just grow dependent on him? What would happen to the tribe if he got severely injured one day?

With those thoughts in mind, Sera nodded.

"You should take Mika and that Asian woman with you since only three people can use your teleportation crystals," she told Hannah. "Meanwhile, I’ll bring the air-dried pots here and get some more clay to make new moulds."

"Alrighty!" Hannah smiled, saluting Sera. "As the lead servant wants, this lower servant will do!"

With that, Hannah rushed up the stairs to get Mika and Tsukika with her.

"Don’t run! You’ll trip—"

No sooner did Sera say those words than Hannah came tumbling down the stairs, holding a thumb in the air to show she was fine. Sera sighed and shook her head.

Hannah climbed the stairs out of the underground cave slowly, and on all fours this time.

"...how is she even alive at this point?"

***

A few minutes later...

"Here we go!" Hannah exclaimed, throwing a crystal before them.

Since Mika knew what to do, she didn’t hesitate and stepped on the crystal. As she disappeared into thin air, Tsukika’s hand went to her blade, ready to slice the crystal in half.

"Oi! No, no!"

Hannah rushed to stop her and, in what little broken otaku Japanese she knew, told her about the crystal’s ability. Tsukika still looked at the crystal suspiciously, but since the woman was the Majutsushi’s concubine, she trusted Hannah.

Only after the women disappeared did Hannah wave at Sera and disappear as well. As she did, Freki took over the guard duty to protect the crystal.

"Not going to lie, Hannah’s creations are weirdly useful. I should have asked her to mark that clay-pit’s location too," Sera mumbled.

Unlike them, who teleported over large distances, she would have to walk over to the spot she had found with Adrian to get clay.

"Well, at least I have you."

"Caw!" Huginn replied, hopping around Sera.

Huginn’s wounds hadn’t healed yet, as she had taken quite a beating from the birds yesterday. Still, the bird wanted to protect Sera and was hopping alongside her.

Just as she was about to step outside the fence, Sera was stopped by Rixxa, Nixa, and Amiya. After spending nearly a week there, Sera had learned a few words and, coupled with their gestures, realized that they were asking her where she was going.

It seemed they were worried about her. It wasn’t strange, given that they were attacked yesterday. In reply, Sera pointed at the few broken pots that were left to air dry and back at the ground.

Since the women had seen her work with clay to make utensils, they immediately understood what Sera was doing. The next second, they took up their spears, gesturing to her to move ahead.

Sera nodded gratefully at them and led them to the spot where they had fought the alliance members before. Once there, she noticed that a few wild potato plants were left there.

"Could you dig them up?" Sera asked the ladies, mimicking the gesture of pulling the plants out.

Amiya nodded and got to work. Once again, they were acquainted with the plants, thanks to Adrian, and knew what to do with them. At the same time, Sera began gathering clay. Meanwhile, Rixxa, Nixa, and Huginn, protected them.

"We have volcanic ash back in the settlement," she mumbled to herself. "I’m confident that this time I’ll make proper pots."

While she did that, she got a ping. Just like Adrian, she too had been receiving messages since the contract system was overhauled. While it wasn’t as intense as it was for Adrian, she still found it annoying.

Besides, unlike Adrian, she had to go through each message because of the marketplace. After all, they still needed drinking water, and she couldn’t afford to miss a barter offer regarding that.

"Alright, who is it now? It was better when Master had revoked my access of messages..." she grumbled, shaking the mud off her hands before opening the message interface.

However, when she noticed the name of the person messaging her, her blood ran cold.

<Juan>: I heard you have been making waves in the marketplace. How about you share some of that profit with me before I ruin your little vacation?
