Dual World Apocalypse: My Harem Gives Me 10x Rewards

Chapter 76: Step 76 to Greatness: Settlement Rewards Are Still Better Than Celestial Chests (6th day settlement)

The rest of the time was spent repairing the buildings. Once that was done, people returned to bathe in the stream before filling their stomachs up once again.

Everyone was tired, and no one paid attention to his ’needs’. For once, Adrian was thankful for it since he had something else to deal with.

Adrian did not say a word, just his hand shot up in the air. It was by far the highest rating he had ever received. Given that so many players had perished and how highly he was rated, he received another notification he had been waiting for.

[Congratulations. You have ranked in the top 30 global players!]

[Reward: Celestial Chest x2 has been added to your inventory.]

"Oh, hell no, I’m not opening any more of these. Nuh uh."

Adrian did not even pay any attention to the chests. He got lucky once that the terrain card and cave expansion cards both appeared at the opportune moment. He did not want to test his luck again.

Instead, he focused on the settlement rewards as they were more useful to him.

First and foremost, Adrian grabbed all the seed packs and handed them over to Root. The slime had been feeling down ever since the birds ruined the seeds he had already planted.

These new seeds were bound to make him happy. Besides, reed grass and chilli peppers were both useful things. One would add flavor to food, and the other could be used to make baskets and stuff.

If we actually manage to make baskets, carrying stuff around would become very easy. Now, where is the old guy?

Meanwhile, Root was sitting next to the farmland, looking a bit down. The small ancient green chibi slime had his tiny pitchfork resting beside him as he stared at the holes ready for seeds to be planted, but there were no seeds on him anymore.

"Heh, at least we got some potatoes remaining," he sighed, consoling himself.

Suddenly, he looked up, and a couple of packs of seeds appeared before him. Root got excited for a moment before sighing.

"Now I’m seeing seed packs flying in the air..." he mumbled.

"You’re not dreaming," Adrian smirked. "I got new seeds for you."

He looked up to see Adrian and the seed packs again. The moment he realized it was true, his entire body changed color. The dull green shifted into a bright neon green. One could say he was glowing with excitement.

"New seeds?!" Root squealed, then remembered something and cleared his throat. "Ahem, an old man like me can’t seem to catch a break. You’re heartless, young one."

Even as he grumbled and complained, Root took the seed packs and was ready to plant them.

"First you make me plant everything, then birds eat it all, now you give me even more seeds? Do you think I’m a machine?"

Adrian didn’t pay any attention to the old slime’s grumbles. He just watched him plant the seeds, and glowing brighter by the second.

"You’re doing great, Root," Adrian said. "Thanks for taking care of the farm."

Root paused for a second, still grumbling under his breath, but his neon green color stayed bright as he continued planting.

"Now, let’s check the other stuff I got."

Name: Small Underground Storage Pit

Type: Expansion Card

Rarity: Common

Biome: Earth

Affected Area: ~6m × 6m × 2.5m underground chamber

Capacity: 40 storage units

Description:

Upon activation, it creates a reinforced underground storage chamber connected to the surface through a ladder shaft or stair access.

The interior remains naturally cooler and darker than surface structures. Can be used with existing structures or exist as simple holes.

"So, they are storages. Good. Now I won’t have to carry everyone on me, hehe. Not to mention, they have more storage space than even my upgraded inventory."

On top of that, he had eleven such cards, meaning he got over four hundred slots of inventory. The only downside was that expansion cards couldn’t be combined to create a bigger cellar.

But Adrian wasn’t complaining. After all, he was still getting four hundred and forty storage slots.

As for the other micro expansion card, it could only be used in the caves. Which meant he could use it to either expand the salt mine or the underground cave.

"The cave is already too big, and as for the salt mine, we’re not even using it. So, there’s no point in using these expansion cards for now."

After pocketing the cards, he checked the other rewards, only to realize he might have to use the micro expansion cards after all.

The sulphur deposit and obsidian deposits were both required to be built in the lava ridge area.

Then there was the geothermal bath that also needed to be in the vicinity of the lava ridge to work. It would also solve their bathing issue.

But the things that got him most excited were the fence upgrade cards.

"Hell yeah! I can actually have walls for a fence now. The wolves would have a hard time breaking through it, and even if they tried, I have the spiked barricade too!"

Adrian had always been excited about the settlement rewards, but this time, he was truly elated. How could he not be when the cards he got essentially gave him a quantum leap in terms of civilization progression?
