From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius

Chapter 360 - 449: Going Home

Although Gabriel Sinclair was the head of an entertainment company, Ms. Mayfield had been his manager ever since his debut.

As a result, Gabriel didn’t dare to argue with anything she said.

So, he could only watch helplessly as the bodyguards packed up the clothes he had so carefully chosen and sent them back.

On Sunday, Chloe and Gabriel showed up at the airport wearing face masks.

Both of them had a remarkable presence, and from the moment they stepped into the airport, people started whispering.

"I feel like that guy and girl who just walked past look so familiar. Have I seen them somewhere before?"

"The girl just glanced at me... Oh my god, her eyes are gorgeous!"

"Why do I get the feeling they’re... Gabriel and Chloe Sinclair."

As if worried her friends wouldn’t believe her, the girl pointed at the shoes Gabriel was wearing. "Look, Gabriel posted about these on his social media before. They’re the only pair like that in all of Zenthia."

The girls’ eyes went wide. They exchanged a look and quickly hurried after them.

Chloe and Gabriel were rushing to board their flight when their path was blocked by the group of girls.

"Excuse me, I was wondering, are you Gabriel and Chloe Sinclair?"

They were both taken aback by how direct the question was.

They instinctively glanced at each other before shaking their heads and saying in unison, "No."

Now it was the three girls’ turn to be stunned.

But soon, one of them couldn’t help but ask, "But I’ve seen our Gabriel post about the shoes you’re wearing on his social media."

Gabriel silently glanced down at his shoes.

Chloe, standing beside him, checked the time. Seeing that they were about to miss their flight, she grew anxious and said, "They’re replicas."

Gabriel opened his mouth to speak, but in the end, he just nodded. "Yeah, they’re replicas."

Hearing this, the girls looked a little disappointed. They apologized and left.

Gabriel and Chloe both breathed a sigh of relief.

It wasn’t that they were unwilling to reveal their identities. But Gabriel hadn’t brought any bodyguards or staff with him, and it was peak travel time at the airport. If things got out of hand, it could have caused a major jam.

Fortunately, between their masks and bulky clothing, their figures weren’t recognizable.

「Three hours later」

They got off the plane and walked out of the airport.

Ethan Sinclair’s car was already parked at the entrance, waiting for them.

The moment Gabriel saw it, he rushed for the passenger seat.

Ethan Sinclair: "Get out."

Gabriel: "?"

He didn’t seem to have processed that, his eyes filled with confusion as he stared blankly at Ethan.

Ethan’s face was expressionless. "Your little sister is still behind you. Go sit in the back."

Gabriel instantly understood what Ethan meant. His face fell. "The love is gone. It’s really gone."

But despite his grumbling, he still got out of the passenger seat and moved to the back.

Chloe didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "Ethan, don’t you have work at the company today?"

Ethan shook his head and said frankly, "No, I specifically made time to come pick you up."

He had postponed all his morning meetings because he knew they were landing today and didn’t want to make them wait.

"Should we go home first or grab a bite to eat?"

It was exactly one in the afternoon, and he figured they probably hadn’t eaten much on the plane.

"Let’s eat first, then go home."

At the mention of going home, all three of them broke into smiles.

——

Ethan chose a restaurant at a hotel owned by his company. The service was excellent, and after the meal, he drove his brother and sister back to the villa.

Before he left, he made a point of telling Chloe to get some rest first and worry about going to the lab later.

Chloe obediently agreed.

Back in her room, everything was exactly as she had left it—clean and tidy. ’It must be cleaned every day,’ she thought.

Chloe grabbed a notebook from a drawer, her mind already racing with calculations.

By seven in the evening, Chloe was looking at the preliminary concept for her quantum communication plan. She stretched languidly, blinking her eyes, which felt a little dry.

KNOCK KNOCK—

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Chloe called out in acknowledgment and quickly stood up.

When she opened the door, she saw a new housemaid whom she didn’t recognize.

The housemaid looked very young, probably not much older than Chloe herself.

But there was something about the way the maid’s eyes darted all over the place that Chloe didn’t like.

"Miss Sinclair, dinner is ready."

Chloe nodded. "Okay."

After she spoke, she noticed the housemaid was just staring blankly. Chloe frowned. "Is something wrong?"

The housemaid flinched like a startled bird, her eyes full of panic as she quickly shook her head. "It’s nothing."

Before Chloe could say anything else, the housemaid scurried away.

The encounter made Chloe wary.

At the dinner table, Mr. Sinclair was also back from the company.

After eating for a little while, Chloe suddenly asked, "Dad, what happened to our previous housekeeper?"

’After Mrs. Logan left, we got a new housemaid, but I can’t believe she’s been replaced again after just a few months.’

Mr. Sinclair paused, clearly unsure who Chloe was talking about.

"Are you talking about Aunt Warren’s niece?"

Chloe wasn’t sure. "The one with two braids and a yellowish complexion."

Mr. Sinclair understood. "Ah, that’s Aunt Warren’s niece, Tiana Warren. She’s just here temporarily. She’ll go back to school once winter break is over."

Chloe just frowned. The memory of the look Tiana Warren had given her today made her feel uncomfortable.

But since they had only met once, Chloe didn’t feel it was her place to say anything, so she didn’t let her feelings show.

Tiana Warren didn’t appear before her again over the next few days, and Chloe eventually forgot about the matter.

On her third day back home, Chloe paid a visit to Landon Sinclair’s research institute.

Landon was a little surprised to hear Chloe was visiting. He took off his lab coat, grabbed two drinks from the refrigerator in his office, and went to the reception room.

Placing the drinks on the table, Landon spoke first. "How have you been feeling lately?"

Chloe paused for a moment, knowing he was referring to the incident with the malfunctioning nuclear device.

She stuck her tongue out playfully and said with a sigh, "Landon, I’ve been fine for a long time. If you don’t believe me, I can even do a couple of jumps for you."

Landon gave a wry smile and waved his hand. "Alright, alright. I’m just glad you’re okay. But you need to be more careful in the future. Your safety is what’s most important."

But even as he said it, Landon knew that if he had been in the same situation, he wouldn’t have hesitated to risk his own life to prevent a radioactive leak.

But the thought of that person being Chloe made his heart twist.

Every time he thought about it, a wave of fear washed over him.

He quickly changed the subject. "So, was there a reason you came to the institute today?"

Chloe nodded. "Yes, there’s something I wanted to discuss with you."

But her eyes kept glancing outside, and Landon understood instantly. "Looking for White?"

Chloe nodded. "Yeah. I haven’t seen it in a long time."

Before she could say more, Eight, the system in her mind, instantly flew into a rage.
