From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius

Chapter 334: Something to Discuss

Chloe Sinclair held a thick stack of reports.

Joel Quincy gave it a quick glance, estimating it to be seventy or eighty pages thick.

"What is this?"

Chloe Sinclair handed the report over, explaining, "This is a partial report on the nuclear nullification device. I’ll compile the rest for you on the last day of the month."

Joel Quincy was slightly surprised.

But when he remembered what Chloe Sinclair had said at the press conference, he quickly calmed down.

The light in his eyes grew brighter as he read through a few pages. Finally, he closed the report and couldn’t help but say, "Chloe, your growth has truly exceeded my expectations."

Theory and practice are two different things.

The only thing that can support theory is practice.

Chloe Sinclair’s progress truly astonished him.

Flustered by the praise, Chloe Sinclair scratched her head. "I just hope you won’t blame me for being reckless, Professor."

At the last press conference, she had gone off-script in order to humiliate the lab from Meridia and expose their fraud.

The results had been more than satisfactory, but she still felt a pang of regret.

After all, even if she hadn’t been so impulsive, there were still other ways to handle the situation.

By announcing that she could develop the nuclear nullification device, she had clearly put Joel Quincy and the entire lab in the eye of the storm.

Joel Quincy hadn’t expected his young apprentice to still be dwelling on it. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "So, do you regret it?"

Chloe Sinclair quickly shook her head.

There were certainly better methods, she had to admit. But if she could go back, she would still do the exact same thing. To make a lasting impression and truly humiliate Meridia, they had needed to give the public a powerful shot in the arm.

Seeing this, Joel Quincy suddenly burst into a hearty laugh.

"In that case, there’s no need to apologize. Besides, the results were great, weren’t they?"

Miller went to prison, and the staff involved in creating the device were also taken into custody.

If it had been a purely domestic affair, it might not have been so serious. But Miller’s case involved too many other nations, and business leaders from every country affected were willing to spend fortunes just to ensure Miller wouldn’t get off easy.

In other words, Miller would likely spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Crinkles formed at the corners of Joel Quincy’s eyes as he looked over the pages of detailed data, his mood improving considerably.

"Since you committed to a deadline, finish the nuclear nullification device as soon as you can. We owe the public an update by the end of the month."

Chloe Sinclair nodded. After a quick tour of the research institute, she hurried off to the university for her classes.

She was something of a celebrity at the School of Physics, so unless something urgent came up, she couldn’t get away with skipping a single class.

Chloe Sinclair entered the classroom ten minutes early. She scanned the room and, not seeing Nina Sinclair, finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She didn’t know why, but she seemed to run into Nina every single time she came to class.

Fortunately, since she was early today, her luck held out, and Nina was nowhere to be seen.

Nina only sauntered in just as the bell was ringing.

As soon as the lecture began, Chloe Sinclair zoned out.

Her classmates were used to it, so no one paid her much mind.

After all, she could zone out and still get the top grades.

After class, the professor asked Chloe Sinclair to stay behind and come to his office.

When she arrived at the office, she saw that all the professors were there—even a few she didn’t recognize.

"Chloe, we asked you to come here because there are a few things we’d like to discuss with you."

As he finished speaking, the professor from the School of Physics shot a dark, resentful look at the two men standing in the back.
