My Magic Has No Upper Limit

Chapter 346 - 309: Goodwill (Part 2)

The man pointed at Zelir from a distance and said loudly, "You’re a Mage, right?"

"Yes, we mean no harm, we’re just pass—" Before Zelir could finish, the man cut him off.

"That’s great!"

The man’s tone lifted, and he seemed quite happy.

"I haven’t met a Mage who’s become an Adventurer in a long time!"

As the other party’s Mage spoke with Zelir, the tense atmosphere between the two groups dissipated somewhat.

Mages were typically the core of a party. Now that the cores of both sides had reached an understanding, there was no need to remain on high alert.

Gray and Valles exchanged a look. As a show of good faith, they relaxed their ready stances.

One sheathed his sword, and the other put his Arrow back in his quiver.

In response, the other group’s attitude also improved considerably, becoming less aggressive.

The two groups drew closer.

Although their Adventurer instincts kept them somewhat wary, they didn’t show it on the surface.

"Hello... my name is Zelir." Zelir decided to introduce himself first and extended his hand.

The man shook Zelir’s hand readily.

"I’m Adrian!"

Now, Zelir could get a good look at this Adventurer Mage, the first he had ever met.

Unlike the people Zelir had seen at the Mage’s Guild.

Adrian’s appearance wasn’t refined. He had somewhat messy, long brown hair that he swept back, giving him a carefree air.

His features were rugged, clearly weathered by the wind and sun.

He also looked a bit older.

’He must be in his thirties, right?’ Zelir thought.

But this didn’t detract from Adrian’s confident and untamed aura.

Adrian was also observing Zelir.

His gaze lingered on Zelir’s face for a while, a smile playing on his lips.

"You’re Zelir, right...? You must be a Junior Mage?"

"Yes." Zelir nodded.

"No surname, so you’re a commoner?" Adrian asked again.

"Yes..." Zelir replied.

"Me too!"

Hearing this, Adrian seemed even happier.

He clapped Zelir hard on the shoulder. "See, I knew it! Commoner Mages like us always choose to become Adventurers!"

Adrian’s frank attitude and enthusiasm made Zelir feel a sense of camaraderie.

’Just as I thought...’

He’d had a vague feeling about this before.

If he encountered a team of Adventurers in the wild, he would definitely be on guard, ready to cast Magic or deal with any sudden developments.

But if there was a Mage among the Adventurers...

...then Zelir’s guard would drop considerably. He might even feel like going over to chat.

This was a completely genuine, gut reaction.

When he thought about it, the Adventurer’s Association was, at its core, just an "association."

People went there to accept quests, buy and sell equipment, and find teammates. It was a melting pot of all sorts of people, a convenient platform at best.

There wasn’t much interaction between Adventurers, and a competitive relationship existed.

For some unscrupulous Adventurers, an encounter in the wild, if it proved profitable...

...could lead them to cross the line and attack directly.

But the Mage’s Guild was different.

It was free and relaxed, with a library full of materials to study, a Martial Arts Arena to hone one’s skills, and a peaceful, comfortable environment.

It was a circle clearly separate from other professions; non-Mages simply couldn’t fit in.

Add to that the monthly compulsory commissions, which paid significantly more than the work entailed.

Most Mages felt a strong sense of goodwill and belonging toward the Guild.

Therefore, when Mages met in the wild, even if they were strangers, their interactions were mostly amicable.

Moreover, a party with a Mage gave off a feeling of security—they were above the dirty business of murdering for treasure.

The atmosphere grew friendly.

Besides Zelir and Adrian, everyone else gave a brief self-introduction.

The Swordsman’s name was Kanter.

The Giant Axe Warrior’s name was Yale.

And then there was the female Vanguard...

She took off her helmet. A few strands of hair clung to her cheeks, and she ran a hand through her red hair to tidy it.

Her face, now revealed from under the helmet, was rather surprising.

She wasn’t the extremely coarse, shrewish type one might expect.

Her features were strong and striking, with a high-bridged nose.

Her brow exuded a heroic and forthright spirit, giving her the appearance of a reliable big sister.

Upon seeing Zelir, Redia’s gaze froze.

"Oh!"

An exclamation of surprise escaped her lips.

"To think he’s so..."

The last few words slid back down her throat, swallowed along with her saliva.

Redia’s attitude was also very enthusiastic and friendly.

"Hello there! My name is Redia!"

"Hello, I’m Zelir." Zelir greeted her as well, politely extending his hand.

Redia took Zelir’s hand and didn’t let go immediately.

But she didn’t use much force; her grip was actually quite gentle.

’Such a pleasing face... and that straight-backed posture and refined trench coat-style robe.’

"He’s really..." Redia’s gaze roamed over Zelir, the delight in her eyes growing the more she looked.

It made Zelir a little uncomfortable.

"This is a promising seedling from our Mage’s Guild. What do you think you’re doing? Don’t scare him," Adrian said with a frown.

"And he’s a Mage, too? Isn’t that even better!" Redia grew even more interested.

She already possessed strength and Power.

In her preferences, she valued appearance more.

She longed to care for a boy she liked with meticulous attention, like tending to a cup of cream.

Unfortunately, in her life as an Adventurer, Redia had mostly met rough brutes—crude, tacky, and completely uninteresting.

Zelir’s appearance had struck a powerful chord with her.

Faced with Redia’s enthusiasm, Zelir could only give her a slightly awkward smile and withdraw his hand.

Redia’s Armor was externally fitted and easy to remove.

After unfastening her Shoulder Armor and Waist Armor, large patches of wheat-colored skin were exposed to the air.

Sweat trickled down her well-defined abs and V-cut, flowing further down.

With every breath Redia took, the lines of her supple muscles rose and fell.

Her entire being radiated a healthy, vibrant energy.

Zelir’s build wasn’t exactly thin; he was 1.85 meters tall.

But Redia was estimated to be over 1.9 meters tall, not much shorter than Marcus.

Although her physique wasn’t as robust as Marcus’s, her well-toned body was still quite a sight to behold.

"Don’t mind her. She’s always like this—freezes up whenever she sees a handsome guy." Adrian slung an arm over Zelir’s shoulder.

The Giant Axe Warrior, Yale, and the Swordsman, Kanter, had gone to clean up the battlefield and search for loot.

Redia seemed to be the leader, holding a rather high position, so she didn’t do such menial tasks.

Adrian was a Mage, so of course, he didn’t have to either.

Their small team only had four members, but they were all Middle Level Professionals.

Judging from the earlier battle, Redia had likely already broken through the Initial Tier and was an Advanced Middle Level Professional!

And that earthy yellow Fighting Qi... it was clearly a Special Attribute Fighting Qi!

A Vanguard with Special Attribute Fighting Qi, two Middle Level Swordsmen, and one Middle Level Mage...

A truly formidable lineup!

Zelir had originally planned to exchange a few words with their party, just to get acquainted and avoid any future misunderstandings, and then continue on his way.

But Adrian was very talkative and kept Zelir there.

"It’s really rare... a Junior Mage heading out as an Adventurer, and with this gear..."

Zelir’s Magic Robe and Night Peace made Adrian a little curious.

"You said you’re a commoner... could it be that your family are merchants?"

Wealthy merchants like that didn’t have a noble surname, but they still possessed considerable financial power.

Compared to ordinary families, they could provide much more support for their descendants on the path of a Mage.

"No, I earned it all through adventuring," Zelir said.

"You earned it from adventuring? That’s amazing!"

He looked at Zelir carefully, his expression slowly turning to one of astonishment.

"You even know Trigger Skill? And you’re so young... How old are you?"

"Sixteen."

"You’re not kidding me, are you?"

Adrian’s eyes widened. "A sixteen-year-old Junior Mage? Isn’t that the same as that Kane from the Imperial Capital?"
