Chapter 552 551: Fighting Again
'H-How is this possible?!'
The hearts of Dongmen Ming, Ning Bai, and the others were in turmoil, filled to the brim with jealousy and hatred!
'The heavens are far too unfair!'
Not only had he survived the siege of a Giant Fiend and numerous Great Fiends, but his Cultivation had also broken through to the King Realm. This was simply unheard-of.
As a Half-Step King, Qin Ya had already been able to slay an Era-Defining talent like Dongmen Gu.
Now that he had reached the King Realm and comprehended True Intent from the Mysterious, what level would his combat prowess reach? Everyone found it impossible to imagine.
In the crowd, Ning Bai's fists clenched. He forcefully suppressed the flames of hatred in his heart, only for a profound sense of powerlessness to rise in their place.
'A monster like that is no longer someone I can afford to provoke.'
Meanwhile, jealousy and hatred flashed in Dongmen Ming's eyes, his heart filled with bitter resentment.
'Why does he get to have such talent? Why?!'
'This won't do. After I get out of here, I have to report this to my family. Even if it means dispatching a Half-Venerable, we have to eliminate this monster. We absolutely cannot let him continue to grow!'
'Absolutely not!!'
A short while later, Qin Ya, Yun Feng, Sima Yu, and the others gathered in a makeshift meeting room to discuss the campaign against the Evil Spirits.
"Everyone, please report your respective losses," Sima Yu said.
A City Lord stepped forward. "On our side, two Kings died, and another is heavily injured and no longer combat-effective. That Giant Fiend is too powerful."
Another Lord of Influence spoke up. "We lost one King, with two others heavily injured and one lightly injured. Even I sustained some injuries."
"We lost one, with no other injuries."
"We have one who is heavily injured."
"No losses."
When it was Qingkong City's turn, Mo Bokong sighed. "We lost two, with no other injuries."
He couldn't help but feel a pang of grief as he spoke.
'These were all Personal Guards I personally trained.'
Sima Yu sighed. "That Giant Fiend is truly powerful. If Qin Ya hadn't broken through to the King Realm at the last moment, I'm afraid we wouldn't have made it back either."
As soon as he spoke, everyone shuddered, their eyes filled with shock.
Even though they had already suspected it, they couldn't help but be shocked when Sima Yu confirmed it himself.
'Heavens! A young Martial Artist who just broke through to the King Realm already has the strength to contend with a Giant Fiend! That's a monster comparable to a Half-Venerable!'
"So what should we do now? Are we supposed to give up?"
One of the Lords of Influence spoke, unwilling to accept the situation. They had all come here to hunt Evil Spirits. But now, after killing barely any, they had suffered immense losses themselves. How could they be willing to just slink away with their tails between their legs? They would likely feel this humiliation for the rest of their lives.
"If we don't leave, what else can we do? Just keep fighting?"
"Can we even win? That's a Giant Fiend we're talking about."
"I just can't accept this."
Just then, Sima Yu took a deep breath and said, "I know you're all unwilling to let it go—I am too—but the Giant Fiend's strength is too..."
Before he could finish, Qin Ya stepped forward. "Leave that Giant Fiend to me. I'll find a way to lure it away."
At his words, everyone looked shocked, a flicker of hope appearing in their eyes.
"Absolutely not." Mo Bokong immediately shook his head. "You've only just broken through to the King Realm, and that's a Giant Fiend we're talking about. You might be able to fight it, even hold your own to some degree, but who knows what accidents could happen? It's far too dangerous."
Sima Yu, Yun Feng, and the others nodded, sharing the same opinion.
They had personally fought the Giant Fiend, so they knew just how terrifying its power was. What Qin Ya was proposing was indeed dangerous.
"Don't worry, everyone," Qin Ya said. "I have confidence in my own strength. I might not be able to kill the Giant Fiend, but I can definitely lure it away."
"But..."
Faced with Qin Ya's insistence, Mo Bokong had no choice but to agree.
With the strategy set, everyone returned to their quarters to rest.
Mo Bokong, however, came to Qin Ya's side and asked, "Why?"
Qin Ya knew what he was asking and replied with a faint smile, "I need a thoroughly satisfying battle to completely solidify my King Realm."
"Isn't that a bit too risky?"
"It won't be. That Giant Fiend may be powerful, but it can't kill me as I am now." Qin Ya smiled faintly, his voice brimming with confidence.
Three days later, the group gathered once again at the edge of the basin.
"I'll go first and draw out the Giant Fiend. You all act when you see the opening."
"Qin Ya, take care."
"Don't worry."
With that, Qin Ya's figure shot into the sky. His incredible speed kicked up a fierce wind, and his flight alone made the very void tremble.
The Evil Spirits in the outer layer hadn't even discovered him by the time he reached the central area. 'Huh, it's not here.'
Qin Ya's brow furrowed. He saw dozens of Great Fiends entrenched in the central area, but the Giant Fiend that everyone feared was nowhere to be seen.
Suddenly, a flash of insight struck him, and he looked up at the Cloud Sea of Evil Qi overhead.
'It's up there!'
He recalled how the Giant Fiend had appeared last time. An astonishing Four Symbols True Intent erupted from him, transforming into the Power of Nature that coursed along the shaft of his spear. Then, unleashing a Perfect Spear from his Four Seasons Spear Technique, he blasted it toward the Cloud Sea.
The massive, four-colored spear projection radiated terrifying energy. It stirred up gales in the void as Thunder surged, Frost scattered, and Flame soared. In an instant, the spear projection tore through the layers of the void and slammed into the Cloud Sea.
BOOM...
"ROAR!!"
An earth-shattering boom, followed by a heaven-shaking roar of pure rage, echoed across the land. The Cloud Sea roiled and churned as the spear's light blasted a massive hole through it. In the center of that hole, a colossal Giant Fiend, wreathed in Flame and Frost, let out an enraged bellow.
'So it really was hiding up there!'
Qin Ya smiled faintly, then raised his spear and charged. An overwhelming War Intent blazed in his eyes as killing intent erupted from him, making him seem like a Hell Asura.
The Giant Fiend, not to be outdone, let its own Evil Qi erupt and flew toward Qin Ya.
"Battle!" "ROAR!"
The long spear clashed with a claw as large as a mountain. Despite the incredible disparity in size, the moment they collided, a staggering boom erupted.
Rings of spatial ripples spread out, carrying an immense shockwave. The vast Cloud Sea roiled, and as the shockwave reached the ground, it kicked up violent winds like a sandstorm.
In the end, the Giant Fiend's power was a notch above Qin Ya's, sending him flying into a mountain, where he was buried by countless tons of falling rock.
In the distance, the crowd watched, their hearts in their throats.
Just then, the mountain trembled. A massive spear projection, coiling with Thunder-Fire Power, burst through the layers of rubble and shot toward the Giant Fiend.
The Giant Fiend showed no fear, its claw swiping out fiercely.
CRASH!!
An even more terrifying wave of energy spread out.
