Transmigrated into The Boys, Starting as Soldier Boy

Chapter 142: The Boys. The Grand Finale

Adana’s hand slipped into his pocket on instinct, his fingertips brushing the cold V24 syringe.

Just as his thumb was about to press the safety catch, Mallory grabbed his wrist.

"Don’t. Your immobilization won’t work on him."

Adana stopped.

He knew exactly who Mallory meant by "him."

There weren’t more than two Supes in the world who could make Mallory say that in that tone.

The steel door of the safe house was pushed open.

A tall figure in a dark green Supersuit appeared in the doorway, carrying his iconic shield.

Benjamin’s eyes swept across the safe house. "Colonel Mallory. Didn’t think you’d gotten this damn old. Tsk, tsk. You were pretty hot back in the day. Time’s a bitch, huh?"

Mallory said nothing. She just looked at Benjamin.

Benjamin studied Mallory’s face, lined with age but still carrying the shape of the woman she had once been. There wasn’t much hatred in his eyes. It was more like he was looking across several decades.

He remembered what she had looked like in Nicaragua. Young, in good shape, beautiful, with a fire in her eyes that refused to back down.

That fire had not gone out completely, but more than half her hair was white now.

"What about the guards outside?" Mallory asked.

"They’re innocent."

Benjamin shrugged, casual and blunt.

"Innocent? Maybe. That’s why I didn’t kill them all.

"The ones still breathing were taken away by the Supes I sent.

"Whoever needs questioning gets questioned. Whoever needs locking up gets locked up. Whoever should be let go will be let go."

He looked away from Mallory and glanced at Sameer, who was pale with fear in the corner, then at Adana.

Adana’s hand was still in his pocket, gripping the V24 syringe, but he did not pull it out.

The smile at the corner of Benjamin’s mouth deepened. Then he looked back at Mallory. "So, are you coming with me, or are you dying here?"

Mallory sighed, then looked Benjamin straight in the eye and said, "We’ll come with you."

...

Under the cover of night, three black Vought transport vehicles quietly drove away from the industrial ruins.

Mallory, Adana, and Sameer were locked separately in three special cells on the deepest underground level of Vought. The place was guarded in layers, with Supe guards rotating shifts every few hours.

Each cell was fitted with multiple suppression systems designed specifically to counter Superpowers.

In the end, Adana never released the dirt.

At the final moment before he was escorted into the cell, his hand had brushed the encrypted remote in his pocket. One press, and all the dirt would have been sent instantly to the servers of major media outlets around the world. Vought’s superhero empire would have collapsed beneath the flood of information.

But his finger hovered over the remote for a few seconds, then finally let go.

Because he knew that if he released it, he would die.

And he was not ready to die for that dirt.

The matter of The Boys was completely over.

...

Soon, Neuman succeeded.

She stood on the inauguration platform on the west side of the Capitol, her right hand raised before her chest, facing the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and recited word by word the oath that had been repeated countless times throughout American history.

She wore a deep blue suit, sharp and solemn in its tailoring, with a small American flag pin on her lapel. Her hair was arranged with meticulous care.

The crowd below erupted into deafening cheers, countless Stars and Stripes rippling through the sea of people.

The moment the oath ended, Neuman turned toward the packed crowd in the plaza and the countless cameras, offering a perfectly measured smile.

She had become the first official female president in American history.

Aside from a handful of people in the know, no one knew she was a Supe. No one knew how much blood was on her hands. And no one knew that the one she had sworn loyalty to was not the United States, but a man in a dark green Supersuit.

Vice President Ashley stood a few steps behind her, wearing the most expensive suit she had ever worn in her life.

Her hands were clasped nervously in front of her, her expression caught somewhere between wild joy and sheer panic.

She had never dreamed she would one day stand in this position.

From a trembling little manager at Vought to Vice President of the United States, the path was more absurd than anyone could have imagined.

But no one understood better than Ashley that she stood there not because she was outstanding, but because Soldier Boy needed someone completely obedient in the vice president’s seat.

Ashley’s greatest strength had never been ability. It was obedience...

Of course, that was under the condition that her life was guaranteed.

She knew that perfectly well and had no complaints.

As for Steven, he became the apparent third-most powerful figure in the United States: Secretary of State and the President’s National Security Advisor, representing the domestic faction that supported Soldier Boy.

The position gave him a legitimate seat at the table for every key decision, and he had only one job: make sure those decisions never strayed from the interests of Soldier Boy and Homelander.

At this point, Soldier Boy had completely taken hold of every power in the United States through a legal election, an obedient Congress, and a president and vice president he had personally chosen.

The structure of separation of powers remained intact in name. Not a single word of the Constitution had been changed. Congress still met, the Supreme Court still heard cases, and the media still criticized the government.

Everything looked exactly the same as before.

But behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, behind the closed doors of conference rooms on Capitol Hill, and in the decisive instant before every major decision was made, real power had never been in the hands of those elected officials...

Still, things went on as they always had.

Benjamin really had no great interest in governing the country.

He did it purely for fun, and to avoid certain kinds of trouble.

Soldier Boy would not act like Homelander in the original series, arresting people who did not support him, running loyalty checks, or standing in the spotlight giving passionate but empty speeches to the whole nation.

To him, there was no need.

What could the people who did not support him, or rather, did not support Neuman, actually do?

March in the streets? Talk shit about him on social media?

Launch an impeachment motion in Congress?

None of that mattered to him.

He could not even be bothered to look down at it.

Real power did not need fear to keep it standing. Fear was what the weak used to control the weak.

He only needed to make sure the top of the pyramid belonged to him.

As for what they thought, Soldier Boy did not give a damn.

One week after the inauguration, a new name appeared on The Seven’s roster.

Cate officially joined The Seven, becoming a full member of the world’s most watched superhero team.

Her addition caused almost no controversy, because Vought’s PR Department had built a perfect public image and background for her with terrifying efficiency. On top of that, she genuinely had abilities no one could underestimate, so the public accepted this new face in less than a week.

Of course, Benjamin’s women had also gained one more member.

Cate was that beautiful. Benjamin obviously was not going to let her go.

And Cate already liked Benjamin a lot. She worshipped him, so naturally, she was willing to become Benjamin’s sex friend.

No one knew how it started, and no one dared ask.

The sharp-nosed executives at Vought HQ simply noticed that, for a while, Cate went in and out of Soldier Boy’s private floor far more often than normal work reports required. It was the same with Starlight.

But no one talked about it. At least, not in public.

Of course, at Benjamin’s request, Golden Boy and Cate broke up.

It was easy. Cate controlled Golden Boy, then ended everything cleanly.

At that point, The Seven’s lineup was officially set: Homelander, The Deep, Cate, Starlight, Black Noir II, A-Train, and Maeve.

The list sparked plenty of discussion on social media, especially A-Train’s return, which caught a lot of people off guard.

But A-Train was able to return to The Seven thanks to the contribution of a certain racist Supe.

His heart condition had reached the point where he was finished without a transplant, and Blue Hawk just happened to have the heart he needed.

So the whole story played out just like in the original series. The only difference was that this time, Benjamin gave a silent nod from behind the scenes and allowed A-Train to kill Blue Hawk, so the whole process had far fewer complications than in the original.

The surgery was a success. A-Train hit his top speed again. He put the blue-and-white Supersuit back on and stepped into the spotlight once more.

But his eyes were not quite the same as before. There was less arrogance in them, and more genuine feeling.

The days after that were easy.

Benjamin had Homelander, a son who worshipped him and loved him.

Although Homelander would occasionally say something about becoming a god, after Benjamin beat the crap out of him, he never said it again.

There were also quite a few women who were fiercely loyal to him.

Stormfront, Starlight, Rena, Neuman, Cate, and so on...

Every now and then, Benjamin would take Homelander traveling around the world. At other times, he would spend time with his women.

With Benjamin by his side, Homelander gradually became a real superhero. Sure, his temper was still shit, but at the very least, he was a superhero now, right?

Oh, right. Benjamin planned to give Homelander that V1 once he behaved well enough, granting him eternal life.

As for the other women, Benjamin valued them too, but they were nowhere near as important as Homelander.

The key point was that Homelander was his good son.

Still, Benjamin did his best to have Sage and quite a few researchers start developing V1 again. If possible, Benjamin planned to get a few doses of V1 for his women later too.

Hmm. Hughie was still with his Robin, and they had two daughters.

Butcher also stayed with Becca, and the two of them had a son. Aside from visiting Ryan about once a month, Becca spent the rest of her time living a shamelessly carefree life with Butcher, or raising their own son together.

After having a son of her own, Becca no longer devoted herself entirely to Ryan.

Everything was pretty damn good.

...

[Main Story, End.]

[The main story is ending here for now, everyone. Mainly because The Boys’ popularity has completely died down, and honestly, there really isn’t much left to write. The Godolkin University plotline doesn’t have much worth writing about either.

The president of Godolkin University also has no reason to seek revenge against Homelander.

Hmm... so The Boys universe will end here for now, though there should still be side stories later.

The side stories include Homelander wanting to become a god but getting taught a lesson by Benjamin, giving Homelander V1, and things like that.

Besides that, there will also be the development of a new V1 for those women.

Or maybe whether Maeve and Homelander should continue. I didn’t arrange for Soldier Boy to get with Maeve mainly because Maeve is Homelander’s ex-girlfriend, and I wanted to avoid making things awkward or upsetting Homelander.

Finally, there’s the original series finale, where Benjamin accidentally crosses into the original series and saves his son, who has already completely gone off the rails... (Does anyone want to read that?)

For now, I won’t choose to fully end it.]

[Thank you to all my dear readers for your support. Honestly, even if I forced myself to keep writing without writing other universes, it would only reach around 500,000 words at most...

Of course, dragging it out to 800,000 or even a million words isn’t impossible, but that wouldn’t make for a good reading experience, would it?

So after Butcher and Homelander reconciled, there really wasn’t much left that was especially worth writing.]

[The Boys section is complete. Flowers for the ending.]

[I’m still not sure how many words the next section will have... Maybe it will fully end after the side stories, or maybe I’ll write some daily-life scenes...]

[But one thing is certain: there basically won’t be any other universes. Let this work stay true to its original The Boys flavor.]
