The Tamer Monarch

Chapter 6: First Class

Athar, seeking directions from random students, finally found his way towards his room. As he walked through the corridors of the academy, he could not help but marvel at its structure. It was not only imposing and magnificent from the outside, but it was equally awe-striking and glamorous from the inside.

Every student was given a separate private room, and Athar was very pleased about this.

Cultivation was a sensitive process, and any kind of disturbance due to the presence of another person in close proximity might have had a negative effect. Thus, the academy ensured that every student received their own private space.

As Athar stepped inside his room, a smile spread on his lips. This was the best place he had ever lived in his entire life. For his entire life, he had lived in abandoned buildings with makeshift beds and salvaged mattresses, but things had changed now.

The room was ten feet by eight feet in dimension. A single wooden bed with mattresses and clean white sheets had been placed in one corner. A wooden chair and table were in another corner, while a wooden shelf lined one of the walls. A small glass window opened on the backside of the academy, through which a vast expanse of green field was visible. For some students, those belonging to rich households, this might have been far from satisfactory, but for Athar, this was more than enough.

He placed whatever little things he had on the shelf and slumped onto the bed. And now he had to wait for the classes to begin the next day.

Athar was sitting in the extreme back row of the classroom as he waited for the academy instructor to arrive. He was dressed in his academy uniform- Navy blue shirt, grey pants and black shoes.

The classroom which was located in B Block, had sloping desks, and thus, though he was farthest from the front row, he was also at the highest vantage point and could observe the entire class.
