Chapter 331 - 184: I’ll Give You That
"Momo’s here too?" Zhou Ming heard the voice and immediately looked around.
Zhou Momo had already scampered over, her little face filled with pride as she introduced him to the onlookers, "This is my brother, my brother."
Zhou Yan pinned down the punk he had knocked over with a club earlier. ’He’d gone a bit easy on him.’ The guy had recovered and was crawling on the ground, trying to make a run for it. Seeing Zhou Momo’s proud face, Zhou Yan couldn’t help but smile.
’The little one really is a show-off.’
"Momo." Zhou Ming tucked his injured hand behind his back, looking at Zhou Momo with a chuckle, his eyes full of adoration.
"Brother Mingming." Zhou Momo ran over, her eyes full of concern as she tried to see the hand he was hiding behind his back. "Is your hand-hand okay? I just saw it bleeding! You have to wrap it up quickly."
"It’s nothing, just a scratch." Zhou Ming grinned so wide his eyes disappeared.
The little girl breathed a sigh of relief, clapping her small hands. Her eyes sparkling, she looked at Zhou Ming and said, "Brother Mingming, you were so awesome just now! You sent a bad guy flying with one punch! And you knocked down the other two bad guys! Is that Martial Arts?! I want to learn!"
"You really want to learn? Then I’ll teach you." Zhou Ming couldn’t stop grinning from ear to ear. The eighteen years of hardship he had endured learning martial arts all felt worth it in this moment.
’Momo really knows how to give a compliment!’
’I love to hear it!’
The onlookers’ faces also broke into smiles.
The little girl was just too cute. And so considerate, too, immediately worrying about her brother.
Just as Zhou Yan was about to ask Zhou Ming if he needed a bandage, the thief he was pinning to the ground slapped the pavement, his voice strained. "Friend, a fight’s a fight, but give me some air..."
Zhou Yan quickly shifted his leg to the side a little.
The thief gasped for breath, his face a purplish-blue. He had nearly suffocated.
"Hey buddy, do us a favor and call the police. Tell them a group of bandits tried to rob the bus, but they’ve been subdued by Zhou Ming and Zhou Yan. Requesting backup," Zhou Ming said to a young man watching the excitement from the side.
"You got it! Right away!" the young man replied, then hopped on his bicycle and pedaled away at top speed.
The thief on the ground who had just been knocked unconscious slowly came to. Hearing this, he tried to argue, "We’re thieves, not bandits..."
"Didn’t you just call yourselves ruthless bandits? Each of you had a knife, and you even stabbed me and drew blood. That definitely makes you bandits, no escaping it," Zhou Ming said with a smile.
"I don’t want to be a ruthless bandit anymore, I don’t want to be one." Tears and snot streamed down the young man’s face.
Three swings from Zhou Ming had shattered his dream of being a ruthless bandit.
His gaze shifted to the bus on the side, and he called out in a loud voice, "Driver, don’t be in a hurry to leave. In a bit, everyone will need to give a statement. Check if you still have your wallets. When the police officers arrive, you can register and get your money back."
"Oh no! The thirty yuan I had for medicine is gone! Those damned crooks must have stolen it!"
"My new clothes have two holes cut in them! These guys are despicable!"
"My wallet is gone too! It had eight yuan and sixty-five fen inside!"
Angry shouts from the passengers quickly erupted from the bus.
They were already very close to Suji, and soon, six police officers arrived on bicycles.
Following them were five or six old-fashioned roadsters, carrying armed militiamen from the People’s Armed Forces Department. The one-armed young man in the lead was none other than Zhou Weiguo.
They were all carrying loaded rifles.
Seeing the four men lying on the ground groaning, their expressions were a mixture of surprise and shock.
’Weren’t there supposed to be ruthless bandits who robbed a bus? We even made a special trip to ask the Armed Forces Department for assistance.’
’And these two young men took them all down?’
"It’s those four on the ground! They were subdued by those two comrades!" the young man who had led them there pointed and testified.
"Cuff ’em!" The Vice Director leading the team waved his hand, and the four thieves were immediately handcuffed.
"It hurts, it hurts like hell!"
"Don’t drag me, my leg is broken..."
"Officer, I think my ribs are broken. Am I going to die?"
The thieves’ screams grew louder and more pathetic.
"Zhou Ming! Zhou Yan! How are you?" Zhou Weiguo stopped his bike and came forward, asking with concern.
He had just received a notice about a bus robbery involving four knife-wielding bandits and a request for assistance, so he had rushed over with his men immediately.
"Uncle, I’m fine. Ming’s hand is injured," Zhou Yan said, stepping forward.
"Uncle, I’m fine too. It’s just a small wound," Zhou Ming said with a smile, raising his blood-soaked left hand. "It just needs to be bandaged. It’s not likely to get infected in this weather."
Zhou Weiguo grabbed his hand to examine it. The wound was half a foot long, but fortunately not too deep. Though it looked frightening, covered in fresh blood, it wasn’t a major issue.
As a man who had clawed his way out of mountains of corpses and seas of blood, he could tell the severity of a wound at a glance.
However, robbing a bus at knifepoint and injuring someone was an extremely serious offense.
Zhou Weiguo’s expression turned cold. In a deep voice, he said, "Director Lin, these ruthless bandits committed armed robbery and assault. This is a heinous crime."
"Rest assured, Minister Zhou. We’ll take them back for a thorough interrogation and make sure they confess and face the law," Vice Director Lin said, nodding. He then looked at Zhou Ming and Zhou Yan. "You two young men acted heroically. Your courage is commendable. First, go to the clinic to get that wound bandaged, then come to the station to give a statement."
"Alright," Zhou Ming nodded, then added, "Director, these bandits all have daggers, and they fight viciously. Every strike was aimed at a vital point. Ordinary thieves don’t act like this. You might want to check if they have other cases against them. A lot of people on the bus had their money stolen, and also..."
Zhou Ming took a step forward and whispered a few words.
Director Lin’s expression became solemn. He nodded and said, "Understood. We will investigate the situation you’ve reported thoroughly when we get back!"
The handcuffed thieves’ faces changed drastically, turning ashen with despair.
Of the four bandits, three had broken bones and had to be carried onto the bus. They were taken back to the police station along with the victims from the bus.
