Chapter 66: Uncle Thomas
Cecilia was just about to agree to help, thinking that Wynne wasn’t so stubborn after all as he knew to seek her help. However, he turned to Amy.
"Miss Lawrence, I heard you have some connections with David. Could you please persuade him to treat my father? Thank you!"
Though David’s reputation had diminished, many still acknowledged his professional skills. Right now, they needed him.
Amy glanced at Cecilia before nodding. She walked over to David, who was about to leave in his car. After the two exchanged words, David nodded before quickly leaving with the others.
Cecilia shrugged her shoulders. According to Wynne, his father, Thomas Whitmore, was terminally ill. Although David was an expert in pulmonary diseases, what he focused on in his research was slightly different from this illness. Even if he went, it probably wouldn’t help much.
Elena appeared behind Cecilia at some point, seemingly seeing through her thoughts, and spoke.
"Do you want to go and have a look? I heard Thomas was quite a legend in his youth. It’s surprising that he fell ill so suddenly in the past few years..."
Cecilia thought for a moment and shook her head.
‘Since they already said they won’t accept my help, it’s better if I don’t disturb him.’
Meanwhile, Steven had just returned home and couldn’t figure out anything from looking at his phone.
He rubbed his temples, wondering if he was being too sensitive. Perhaps Cecilia was just brushing him off when she mentioned seeing Alex’s photo.
