Chapter 726: A Way To Return
"Heavens!" Bai Hanyun exclaimed as she fell backward and sat on the carpeted floor.
Outside, Ouyang Zhuangyu heard her scream. Without waiting for permission, he pushed the door open, only to find Bai Hanyun glaring at him.
Caught off guard, Ouyang Zhuangyu scratched his cheek and asked cautiously, "Miss Bai, are you alright?"
Bai Hanyun took a deep breath to steady herself. Picking up the black fragment from the carpet, she asked back, "Brother Ouyang, do you know that you can scare someone to death like that?"
Ouyang Zhuangyu had no idea what he had done wrong, but his instincts told him it was best to apologize first.
"I’m sorry if I startled you, Miss Bai." He said sincerely.
Seeing his confused expression, Bai Hanyun stood up and said, "It’s not your fault. I’m sorry to glare at you. Did you need something?"
Remembering why he came, Ouyang Zhuangyu replied, "CEO Gui has arrived. He’s waiting for you downstairs."
Hearing this, Bai Hanyun placed the tiny black fragment on the bedside table and said, "Let’s go."
After the door closed behind her, the black fragment flickered and pulsed softly, as if it were breathing.
Downstairs, Gui Xiaoxu had been waiting for a while. Seeing Bai Hanyun come down with Ouyang Zhuangyu following behind, he stood up and greeted her politely.
"Miss Bai, I’m glad to see that you have finally recovered."
Bai Hanyun gestured for Gui Xiaoxu to take a seat, then sat on the single couch and said, "Thank you for coming despite your busy schedule, CEO Gui."
Gui Xiaoxu looked at her still-pale complexion, though her spirit had improved, and responded, "Miss Bai invited me here... You must have something important to discuss, right?"
Bai Hanyun smiled slightly at his words. "CEO Gui is still as sharp as ever. I do have something important to ask you."
Gui Xiaoxu gestured for her to continue.
Bai Hanyun’s hands clenched slightly as she asked, "CEO Gui, do you have a way to return to the Ancient World?"
The moment Gui Xiaoxu heard this, he frowned slightly. After a moment of silence, he finally said, "Miss Bai, I don’t have a way to return to the Ancient World."
When his words fell, Bai Hanyun’s heart sank. Her clenched fists tightened, and she asked in a slightly trembling voice, "Is there really no way?"
Gui Xiaoxu nodded. "Yes."
Receiving his confirmation, Bai Hanyun’s hope shattered.
Looking at her ashen face, Gui Xiaoxu thought for a few seconds, then glanced at the black ring on his left hand. He slowly turned it as he fell into deep thought.
After a long moment, Gui Xiaoxu raised his eyes and said, "Miss Bai, I don’t have a way to return to the Ancient World, but I do have something that might allow contact with the Gui Clan."
At his words, Bai Hanyun’s eyes lit up.
Noticing the hope ignited in her gaze, Gui Xiaoxu flipped his palm, and a black token appeared in his hand.
"This is an identity token of the Gui Clan members. It is connected to the Gui Clan’s secret realm and can be used to request reinforcement in an emergency. I don’t know if we can successfully contact them from this world, but I can give it a try."
Bai Hanyun suppressed her excitement and said sincerely, "CEO Gui, if you can help me find a way back to the Ancient World, I will do anything within my ability to repay this favor."
Hearing this, Gui Xiaoxu smiled slightly. "Miss Bai is too polite. Without you, I would only be waiting to die from the curse. We are friends, and helping each other is what friends would do."
After saying that, Gui Xiaoxu channeled his spiritual energy into the black token. A second later, it began to glow, shrouded in golden light.
When the token turned completely golden, a calm voice echoed in the living room.
"This disciple greets Young Master Xiaoxu. Young Master, do you have any instructions?" a male voice asked.
Gui Xiaoxu held the black token and said, "I want to know if there is a way to return to the Gui Clan’s secret realm without using the space and time portal."
Inside a huge building filled with countless lamps and a massive crystal stone at its center, a Gui Clan disciple responsible for communication frowned slightly.
After a moment of thought, he replied, "Young Master Xiaoxu, since you are currently in another realm, the only way to return to the Gui Clan’s secret realm without using the space and time portal is through the Underworld Realm."
"However, with your current cultivation level, this disciple fears you may not withstand the corrosive Yin energy. Also, to find the path to the Underworld Realm, you would essentially need to die first. Without the protection of the Yin Yang Mirrors, you may not be able to leave the Underworld Realm alive."
As his words echoed in the living room, Gui Xiaoxu looked at Bai Hanyun. Seeing the determination flickering in her eyes, he understood she had already made her decision.
He turned back to the token and said, "Don’t worry about that. Can you tell me how to find the Underworld Realm without dying, and how to navigate back to the Gui Clan’s secret realm?"
The disciple hesitated for a moment before replying, "Young Master Xiaoxu, I will send you items to help you navigate the way and resist the Yin energy. Although they may not be very effective, they should buy you time."
He paused, then added seriously, "Young Master Xiaoxu, you must remember not to speak to the entities in the Underworld Realm. If they realize you are a living person, you may be devoured on the spot."
"Understood," Gui Xiaoxu replied calmly.
The disciple then went to the storage room and retrieved a thick stack of talismans, formations, artifacts, and a piece of white jade with intricate golden lines on its surface.
Returning to the crystal stone, he said, "Young Master Xiaoxu, these are the items for you. The white jade will help you find the way."
Without waiting for a response, he threw them into the crystal stone. The moment the items came into contact with the giant crystal stone, they disappeared.
