Chapter 283: Fainted
Listening to Wu Jun’s order, Bao Shengjie and Ouyang Zhuangyu replied in unison, "Understood."
After receiving their response, Wu Jun briefed the others on the details of the plan.
An hour later, he concluded, "That’s everything. Whether our plan succeeds or not will depend on our acting skills."
When he said that, Bai Hanyun, Hua Yuyu, and the others nodded together.
Seeing that the auction time was approaching, Hua Yuyu said, "I will accompany Miss Bai to the auction. The rest of you, get some rest. Once we return, we will leave immediately."
"Yes, Captain."
With that, Hua Yuyu stood up and turned to Bai Hanyun. "Miss Bai, let’s go."
Carrying her backpack, containing the antique mirror, her phone, wallet, and some snacks, Bai Hanyun left the presidential suite, escorted by Hua Yuyu.
Walking into the elevator, a notification sound came from Bai Hanyun’s phone. Seeing that it was a reminder from the staff of the Gu Bao Auction House that the auction banquet had begun, Bai Hanyun closed it.
A few minutes later, the elevator reached the ground floor, where the grand ballroom—used as the auction hall tonight—was located.
Outside the elevator, two staff members who were responsible for leading the guests inside were already waiting there.
When Bai Hanyun and Hua Yuyu walked out of the elevator, one of the staff members smiled and approached them.
"Miss Bai, we have been waiting for your arrival," she said politely. Stepping to the side, she added, "Miss Bai, this way, please."
Returning her smile, Bai Hanyun nodded and followed the staff member. As she and Hua Yuyu walked past the hotel’s reception area, Bai Hanyun saw two familiar faces in the distance.
Raising her brows slightly, she thought, ’Bai Yansheng and Bai Li? I remember this auction is private, and Bai Yansheng doesn’t have the qualifications to be invited. How could they have gotten an invitation?’
While she was pondering how Bai Yansheng had obtained the auction invitation, Bai Li saw her.
Pointing at Bai Hanyun, she arrogantly ordered, "Bai Hanyun! Stop right there!"
Her words echoed through the spacious reception area, causing the staff member leading Bai Hanyun and Hua Yuyu to pause in her tracks.
Turning to Bai Hanyun, she asked, "Miss Bai, do you know her?"
Bai Hanyun rolled her eyes at Bai Li, then turned back to the staff member and replied, "Yes. She is my enemy."
The staff member was not surprised at her answer. Wealthy people often had enemies, and rivalry between rich young ladies was very common.
Nodding in understanding, the staff member ignored Bai Li and said, "Miss Bai, this way, please."
Seeing Bai Hanyun, Hua Yuyu, and the staff member walk away toward the grand ballroom, Bai Li grew furious at being ignored. Glaring at Bai Hanyun’s back, she clenched her jaw in hatred and jealousy.
While Bai Li was imagining torturing Bai Hanyun in her mind, Bai Yansheng was busy convincing the staff member responsible for checking the authenticity of the invitation cards.
"My invitation cards are genuine. Why don’t you check again?" Bai Yansheng said, with a hint of desperation in his voice.
Seeing how anxious he was, the staff member had no choice but to check again. Using a small handheld scanner, he carefully examined the card.
Pointing to the corner of the invitation card, the staff member explained, "Sir, please look here. Your invitation card doesn’t have our special insignia."
To demonstrate, he took a genuine invitation card from the receptionist’s counter and scanned its corner. As the violet light passed over it, a small insignia of the Gu Bao Auction House appeared.
"The authentic invitation card will display this insignia when scanned by our special scanner." Returning the two fake invitation cards, he added, "Sir, yours are fake. I’m very sorry, but you cannot go inside."
Holding the fake invitation cards, Bai Yansheng was so furious that he was speechless. Clenching them tightly, his vision suddenly darkened. A second later, he fainted and collapsed heavily to the ground.
Thud!
Startled, Bai Li cried out in panic, "Dad! What’s wrong with you?! Dad!"
As she shook Bai Yansheng’s body frantically, the staff member also panicked. If someone died here today, he would never be able to bear the responsibility.
Without hesitation, he shouted to the nearby security guards, "Security! Quick! Someone has fainted!"
The security guards rushed over as soon as they heard this. Kneeling on the ground, one of them quickly checked Bai Yansheng’s breathing and pulse.
"He is still alive," the security guard said.
Hearing this, the staff member breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly ordered, "Quick! Send him to the hospital!"
At once, another staff member called for an ambulance. Before long, paramedics arrived and carried Bai Yansheng away.
Bai Li sobbed so hard that her makeup was a mess as she got into the ambulance with him.

As the ambulance siren faded into the distance, a man in a black suit stepped out from behind a giant pillar.
Pressing the communication device in his ear, he calmly reported, "Boss, it’s done. Bai Yansheng just fainted and has been taken to the hospital. His daughter, Bai Li, went with him."
Hearing this, Ke Ting replied, "Well done. You can return to your post now."
"Yes, Boss."
After ending the call, Ke Ting turned to Gui Xiaoxu, who was watching the crowd below from the second-floor balcony of the grand ballroom.
"Boss, it’s done. Bai Yansheng has fainted and was taken to the hospital by hotel staff. His daughter, Bai Li, went with him. They won’t appear before you tonight." Ke Ting reported calmly.
Hearing this, Gui Xiaoxu gave a low hum and said, "Next time, there is no need to report to me about those two ants."
Sensing his displeasure, Ke Ting lowered his eyes and replied, "Yes, Boss."
Just as he wondered what had caused Gui Xiaoxu’s unhappiness, he spotted Bai Hanyun and Hua Yuyu entering the grand ballroom.
"Boss, Miss Bai is here."
When he said this, Gui Xiaoxu looked toward the main entrance. The moment his eyes fell on Bai Hanyun’s jade jewelry, disbelief flickered in them.
