My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World

Chapter 229: Invitation

After finishing her breakfast, Bai Hanyun went back to her bedroom. Entering the small side room, she opened the wooden boxes placed there.

Reaching into one of them, she took out a dongzhu.

Examining the high luster and rich color of the round dongzhu, Bai Hanyun muttered with a hint of hesitation, "It should be fine for me to sell one of these pearls, right?"

After hesitating for a moment, she took out a small plastic box and placed the dongzhu inside. Unsure how much it could be sold for, she added three more dongzhu into the box before closing it.

Setting the small box aside, Bai Hanyun browsed through the items in the wooden boxes.

The small trinkets given to her by the soldiers of the Feng Army were not for sale, so she closed those boxes.

Seeing that the rest of the items were either gifts from Feng Xiyan or the generals, she found it difficult to decide which to sell.

Just when she was at a loss, her gaze fell on the bronze vases, calligraphy, and paintings.

"Selling these should be fine."

Having made up her mind, Bai Hanyun selected three bronze vases of different sizes. Then she unrolled the calligraphy and paintings.

Lacking expertise in this area, she could only rely on her eyes to choose.

Picking the ones that looked the least impressive, she carefully rolled up the better-looking pieces and placed them back in the boxes.

By the time she had finalized the items for the upcoming auction, two hours had passed.

Patting her sore waist, Bai Hanyun stood up and fetched a box to pack the three bronze vases, two calligraphy scrolls, and three paintings.

After packing the antiques, she stored the rest away and locked the side room.

Carrying the box back to her bedroom, Bai Hanyun took a picture of it and sent it to Yu Xiangyu along with a message: [CEO Yu, I want to register these items for the upcoming auction. Can you help me with the registration?]

After sending the message, Bai Hanyun sent another to Hua Yuyu: [Brother Hua, there is an auction in two days. I want you to accompany me.]

She didn’t have to wait long for Hua Yuyu’s reply. A few seconds later, her phone received a notification.

Ding!

[Should I make arrangements for transportation and accommodation?]

Reading it, Bai Hanyun replied: [No need. CEO Yu said he will arrange transportation and accommodation for us.]

A few seconds later, Hua Yuyu responded: [Got it.]

Just as Bai Hanyun read the message, Yu Xiangyu called.

Picking up the call, she smiled. "Good morning, CEO Yu."

Leaning back in his chair, Yu Xiangyu said, "Good morning, Miss Bai. Regarding the antiques you want to auction, we need to appraise them before listing them. I will send my men to transport them to the auction house. What do you think about this arrangement?"

With no objections, Bai Hanyun agreed. "Alright. Give them my number so they can call me when they arrive in Fu Cheng Town. I will meet them with the antiques."

Knowing she didn’t want to give out her home address, Yu Xiangyu replied, "Alright. I will see you in two days."

"See you in two days, CEO Yu."

After ending the call, Yu Xiangyu called Chi Limin. "Limin, send a team of bodyguards to Fu Cheng Town to collect some antiques from Miss Bai."

"CEO Yu, should I go with them?" Chi Limin asked.

Yu Xiangyu paused for a moment before saying, "Yes. I will feel more at ease if you handle it. Use the private plane and bring the antiques for appraisal as soon as you have them."

"Yes, CEO Yu."

After hanging up, Chi Limin called the Yu Group’s security company and selected a dozen trained bodyguards.

"Yes. Have them meet me at the airport in forty minutes."

Once the arrangements were done, Chi Limin turned to the secretaries and assistants. "I need to go out for a task today. Contact me if anything comes up."

Hearing this, they nodded in acknowledgment.

Before Chi Limin left, one assistant asked, "Assistant Chi, does CEO Yu have any appointments today?"

Chi Limin typed something on his laptop, then replied, "I have sent you CEO Yu’s itinerary for today. The documents are on my desk. Just follow the schedule and you will be fine."

Leaving those words behind, Chi Limin hurried off before the assistant could ask more.

Watching his retreating back, one of the secretaries whispered, "What do you think is so urgent that CEO Yu asked Assistant Chi to handle it?"

The others shook their heads and turned their curious gazes toward the CEO’s office.

Meanwhile, while Chi Limin was running Yu Xiangyu’s errand, Ke Ting received word about Bai Hanyun’s attendance at the upcoming auction at Gu Bao Auction House.

"Got it. Keep me updated on Miss Bai’s schedule. Also, monitor the Bai family. Inform me the moment they make a move."

After ending the call, Ke Ting looked at Gui Xiaoxu. "Boss, we just learned that Miss Bai will attend the auction at Gu Bao Auction House in two days."

Gui Xiaoxu paused. "Get the invitation. I will attend."

"Yes, Boss."

While Ke Ting made the call to secure the invitation, Gui Xiaoxu picked up his phone, opened WeChat, tapped Bai Hanyun’s profile, and sent her a message: [Miss Bai, see you in two days.]

Placing his phone down, he went back to work.

Meanwhile, Bai Hanyun stared at the message in disbelief.

After a long silence, she rolled her eyes and said, ".... This man must be sick."

Tossing her phone aside, Bai Hanyun hit the play button and resumed watching her drama on her laptop.

While everyone was preparing for the upcoming auction, Bai Yansheng was busy securing an invitation.

Holding his phone, he angrily demanded, "Why can’t I attend?! Do you know who I am?"

Ignoring him, the other side hung up the call before he could say more.

"Hello?! Hello?!"
