Chapter 247: A Twist Within A Twist!
In the blink of an eye two hours vanished.
That meant Homelander and Stormfront had waited two hours and still hadn’t seen the Doppelganger appear.
"Is that guy you mentioned even going to come?" Stormfront’s remaining patience was about to be completely worn away.
"Wait another five minutes."
Homelander forced down his anger and looked toward the entrance of the set.
Fortunately this time he saw the Doppelganger sitting in a car. At this moment the Doppelganger had no disguise at all. His original appearance was a slightly greasy middle-aged fat man.
"Sorry, I’m late. Just now I ran into a sudden situation on the road so I wasted a bit of time. Really sorry."
The Doppelganger looked like he was very afraid of Homelander. He tried his hardest to explain the reason for being late, terrified Homelander would explode.
Looking at the timid and submissive Doupleganger in front of her, Stormfront couldn’t help feeling a bit disappointed. No matter how you looked at this guy, he didn’t seem like the mysterious man.
"Come with me."
Homelander’s face was cold as he brought him to the bottom of an abandoned building. This place was quite remote. Even if they made a huge commotion, the staff on the set would never notice.
"You want to play some new tricks?" The Doupleganged glanced at Stormfront who had followed over and couldn’t help showing an I-get-it expression. Then he asked one more question. "Still the same as last time, turn into Madeleine?"
The moment the Doppelganger’s words fell, Stormfront’s gaze toward Homelander underwent some subtle change. Her expression also became a bit strange.
"Shut your mouth!" Homelander, furious from embarrassment, grabbed the Doupleganged by the neck and slammed him against the wall. "Listen. Next I ask, you answer. If you dare say one extra word of nonsense, I’ll crush your cervical spine!"
The sudden attack made the already uneasy Doupleganged show an expression like he was about to cry.
"Do you know the mysterious man?"
Facing Homelander’s interrogation, the Doupleganger’s head shook like a rattle drum.
"I don’t know him. How would I possibly know the mysterious man."
"Forget it. Don’t make it hard for him. After all no matter what, he still counts as your little lover." Stormfront to the side teased.
But Homelander clearly didn’t want to let the Doupleganged off this easily.
"Look me in the eyes. You know I don’t like other people deceiving me." Actually by this point Homelander already believed the Doppelganger wasn’t the mysterious man, but right now he had a belly full of rage with nowhere to vent it. Besides this guy in front of him also knew many of his unsightly affairs.
"I really didn’t deceive you. I really don’t know that guy called the mysterious man." Due to lack of oxygen the Doppelganger’s neck together with his entire face was almost completely red.
Clearly, if Homelander still didn’t let go he might suffocate to death.
"I figure you wouldn’t dare deceive me."
Homelander’s ferocious expression gradually returned to calm. Just as the Doupleganged thought he had escaped disaster, two beams of red lasers shot out from the bottoms of Homelander’s eyes without warning!
"Ah—"
The sudden scream cut off abruptly. The lasers directly burned through the Doppelganger’s eyeballs.
The fragile eyeballs in front of the lasers looked so fragile they couldn’t withstand a single blow.
A plume of white smoke rose from the Doppelganger’s head.
After the white smoke dispersed, what appeared in front of Homelander and Stormfront was only a nearly carbonized skull.
And the back of the skull together with the wall behind it had been pierced through by Homelander’s heat vision.
Homelander calmly withdrew his right hand, looked at the corpse in front of him, and said in an indifferent tone, "Looks like he isn’t the mysterious man. In that case we’ve already eliminated one wrong option."
"So it really is Greevs." Stormfront ignored the Doppelganger’s corpse and prepared to turn and leave.
"I also think it’s Greevs, that vice president of Vought Group."
"Who’s talking!"
In the silent and gloomy environment, a third person’s voice actually appeared.
Homelander and Stormfront, who had just walked a distance away, almost at the same time turned their heads toward the direction the voice came from, which was where the Doppelganger’s corpse was.
The corpse that had originally slid down into the corner of the wall was now swaying as it stood up.
"Are you two satisfied with my performance just now? If it’s out of ten, what score would you give?"
"Hmph! Dare to play tricks in front of me." Homelander let out a cold snort. There wasn’t the slightest fear on his face.
"The mysterious man!"
Some jumping lightning coiled around Stormfront’s arms. Her pupils faintly turned blue. The violent power inside her body seemed ready to erupt.
"Long time no see, Ms. Storm."
A blood line like a zipper appeared on the surface of the Doupleganger’s body. Soon the blood line was peeled open from the inside out, revealing the scarlet muscle fibers that were still twitching inside.
Immediately after, Yuuji’s head drilled out from it. Together with it came an entirely new body.
This bizarre way of appearing made Stormfront and Homelander present involuntarily shrink their pupils.
Yuuji calmly put on clothes. While putting them on he said, "Homelander really lives up to being Homelander. Truly ruthless. The attack just now, even I almost didn’t react in time."
"Are you Greevs or the Doppelganger?" Under the faint moonlight, Homelander’s eyes lit up with red light again, like two flowing streams of magma, giving people a full sense of pressure.
"Does that matter?"
Yuuji said with a smile.
The next second his facial skin automatically detached, and the newly grown face was exactly the same as the Doppelganger who had just died.
"As long as I want, I can also be Greevs."
The facial skin detached again. Only the smile on Greevs’s face never changed.
"You two say, is there a possibility that I’m neither the Doppelganger nor Greevs, but Edgar?"
In an instant, a face Homelander was extremely familiar with, one he could even say he had seen from childhood to adulthood, actually appeared on the other party’s face.
"In the end I still couldn’t hide it from you two. Stormfront, I wanted to kill you a long time ago. Unfortunately, last time you luckily survived." Edgar calmly looked at Stormfront. A trace of coldness flowed from the corner of his mouth.
This expression was simply too familiar to Homelander. At this moment, huge waves rose in his heart.
"Ed... Edgar."
The red glow in his eyes quietly dissipated.
"Homelander! I order you to take out Stormfront right now. The fact that I am the mysterious man must never be known by a third person!" Edgar shouted sternly.
Hearing Edgar’s order, Homelander subconsciously cast his gaze toward Stormfront.
At this moment Stormfront’s expression could be described as ugly to the extreme. She hadn’t expected that Edgar was actually the one hidden the deepest.
"Homelander, are you sure he’s Edgar? Don’t forget he just turned into Greevs too."
"I can’t tell... But his every move is completely no different from Edgar. I don’t believe a person can imitate Edgar this well."
