Yoa was utterly captivated by her. Nova was too divine a creature, especially when she was looking up at him like that. Laid out beneath him, ready and waiting, the desire burning in her eyes. Desire for him and to make their bond official. The words she spoke soothed his soul.
His hand skimmed across the material covering her chest, and groaned when she reacted so perfectly for him. Her nipples hardened beneath his hand. He hadn’t even meant to initiate it yet. He took a deep breath and focused on those blue eyes that reflected the sky so vividly at him, he was almost lost in them. But he ached, and his length throbbed, wanting to sink into her warmth and embrace her more.
But he was a man who could control his emotions—most of the time. It was only Nova’s presence that his body trembled to, would bow to, and was overly attuned to. He should have known from the moment they locked eyes that she was his Serakai. It was why his beast had marked her just before she was meant to return to her people.
So, he remained hovering over her, his hand sliding to her shoulder as he held her gaze, his voice lower than he meant it to be, whispering softly, "There is no turning back from here. You will be mine as I will be yours. Man and woman, joined with the stars and Calomé as our witnesses to accept his gift."
The weight of his words were heavy, and although Nova hadn’t heard of Calomé before, she instinctively knew he was a god, and the one that fated them together. The dream from the night before was beginning to make more sense.
"I’m positively, absolutely in love with you, Yohuali, and that should say something coming from a girl that didn’t believe in fate or magic two weeks ago," Nova grinned up at him, feeling a little bit like a lunatic because if her some of her friends saw her now, they’d be in disbelief. But they weren’t and even if they were, she wouldn’t care then either.
Everything about Yoa felt right, and she couldn’t turn away from him even if she wanted to. Was there any reality where that was even a possibility?
Yoa’s gaze lightened, his lips pulling back into a heart-melting grin and he brought his nose back to hers, circling around as the red merged a little more with the gold, darkening to his desire. With their smiles mirroring each other, and the fireflies now drifting around them in a circle as a lazy breeze rustled through the leaves and their hair, caressing the strands back.
