Jiang Xinghai's heart ached when he saw Feng Lulu's pitiable state.

Rage surged in his chest. He glared at Yang Yanni. "Why are you here? Where's Liping? Why was Lulu hit? Who did it?"

"I—I just came here hoping I could see you, to have you take a look at my pancreatic disease. I had no idea that as soon as I walked in…"

Yang Yanni's voice trailed off, unable to continue. The matter seemed to have much larger implications, and her face turned pale with fear.

"Speak!"

Jiang Xinghai shot Yang Yanni a vicious glare, then a wisp of True Qi gathered in his hand and he gently pressed it to Feng Lulu's cheek.

Her cheek was clearly swollen and extremely painful, but she endured it, allowing Jiang Xinghai to gently massage the area.

Yang Yanni gritted her teeth and forced herself to continue. "They threatened to shut down Jishan Hall for good. Of course Liping wouldn't agree—her father built Jishan Hall from the ground up. So… they took her."

Jiang Xinghai's hand continued to gently massage Feng Lulu's cheek, but his voice was ice-cold. "Should I take this to mean that you brought those people here to threaten me into treating your pancreatic disease?"

"No, no, no! It wasn't me!" Yang Yanni was terrified, shaking her head frantically.

"I'll find out the truth of the matter."

Jiang Xinghai said, enunciating each word, "Since you know who they are, you'll lead the way."

With that, he moved his hand from Feng Lulu's cheek. "Lulu, try speaking."

"Brother Xinghai…"

Feng Lulu said instinctively, "My… my face is healed!"

Jiang Xinghai nodded.

Tears instantly streamed down Feng Lulu's face. "Brother Xinghai! My aunt was kidnapped! We have to go save her right now!"

"Right. We're leaving now."

Jiang Xinghai turned to Yang Yanni. "Let's go. You drive and lead the way."

"Auntie Yanni, please, just lead the way," Feng Lulu urged.

Yang Yanni nodded, her eyes darting back to Feng Lulu's cheek again and again.

It was true!

After Jiang Xinghai's hands-on massage, the redness and swelling on Feng Lulu's cheek had completely vanished, leaving it perfectly normal!

"Fine! I'll lead the way!"

With that, her resolve hardened. She ducked her head, rushed out of Jishan Hall, and started her Audi.

"Lulu, is that what really happened? Her explanation?" Jiang Xinghai asked, grabbing Feng Lulu's arm.

"Yes, exactly," Feng Lulu nodded.

"But she's hiding something. I don't trust her," Jiang Xinghai said, shaking his head. "You stay here. The Shen Family will send someone to pick you up. I'm more than enough to rescue your aunt on my own."

"But I…" Feng Lulu started to protest, but trailed off.

"You'd only slow me down. Be good and listen," Jiang Xinghai said with a small smile, telling a white lie.

He just didn't want Feng Lulu to see the state Lin Liping might be in.

He then went outside and pulled down the metal security gate.

Once in the car, he dialed Shen Zhengye's number. "Uncle, could you send someone to Jishan Hall to pick up Lulu and take her home?"

Then, he fixed Yang Yanni with a cold stare. "Are you going to drive or not?"

"Divine Doctor Jiang, I have to warn you, those guys are ruthless players in the underworld," Yang Yanni said suddenly. "When we get there, whatever they tell you to do, you'd best not argue. You don't want to get hurt. I'll try to talk them down, alright?"

Her warning sounded far too plausible, almost as if she were reciting lines from a script.

It was incredibly suspicious.

Jiang Xinghai sneered internally. 'The more this woman tries to cover her tracks, the guiltier she seems!'

"Alright, I'll take your advice."

He turned to gaze out the window at the rainy night, slowly lighting a cigarette.

Upon hearing Jiang Xinghai's reply, Yang Yanni's expression visibly relaxed.

But then, as if worried Jiang Xinghai had seen through her, her face tensed up again into an uneasy expression.

Soon, the car was heading toward an entertainment complex in the city center.

"Divine Doctor Jiang, I never would have guessed your medical skills were so miraculous. The swelling on Lulu's cheek… it couldn't have been more than three minutes, and it was completely gone. I'm truly in awe," Yang Yanni said, her gaze on Jiang Xinghai filled with a hint of admiration.

"I have a needle that can bring the dying back from the brink and regrow flesh on bare bones. What's a mere surface wound compared to that?"

Jiang Xinghai said with a half-smile, dropping another bombshell.
