Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress

Chapter 352 - 180: Hydroxyl Slave Cavalry

High above, an eagle with a three-meter wingspan circled over the Alliance Army’s battlefield.

It looked down, its eyes taking in the entire battle below. Not even the darkness of night could obscure its vision as it quietly watched everything unfold.

Two kilometers from the Alliance Army’s battlefield, a magnificent golden tent, as vast as a city, stood upon the land. In front of the great tent stood twelve warhorses carved from solid stone.

A statue of a giant eagle glowing with golden light was erected on the top of the tent, and its edges were forged from gold.

This massive, city-like tent was called the Golden Khan City, and it belonged to a man named Batubohe.

The 192-centimeter-tall Batubohe, a mass of sinewy muscle, stood bare-chested in an open area, gazing at the distant battlefield. Behind him followed a dozen burly, heavily bearded men with braided hair.

Logically, Batubohe shouldn’t have been able to see the battlefield. He wasn’t on high ground, it was two kilometers away, and it was nighttime. However, the giant eagle circling over the battlefield gave him the chance to see everything clearly.

That was his Skill—Eagle Vision!

With this Skill, he could monitor everything on the ground through the eagle’s eyes. The view was crystal clear, even sharper than what he could see with his own eyes.

Not far from Batubohe, an altar had been erected. Upon it, several masked Priests brandishing Magical Artifacts were performing a ritual dance, producing low, guttural throat-singing sounds.

Miraculously, the throat-singing, which should have been quiet, carried a great distance and could be heard distinctly.

’Hang in there, brothers!’

Batubohe didn’t know why the war had started, but he could see with perfect clarity that three Mobile Fortresses were fighting the Natives. He didn’t need to ask for a reason; he just had to help the owners of the Mobile Fortresses. After all, they were all Transmigrators trying to get by in this Otherworld. It was only right to help their own, no questions asked.

Five thousand Hydroxyl Heavy Cavalry were already approaching the Alliance Army’s battlefield. Their warhorses had been warmed up for long enough. They gradually accelerated in a triangular formation, beginning their charge toward the battlefield.

The Hydroxyl Slaves were a Sub-human Race from the Otherworld. They looked almost identical to Humans, but their bodies were exceptionally strong. Any random Hydroxyl Slave would stand two meters tall with a body of pure muscle. They were also Nomads, making them natural-born Cavalry.

This was a Faith-based Race. They believed in the eagles of the sky, thinking the eagles could grant them endless Power. Faith in the Otherworld was different from faith in their previous world. It wasn’t just talk; Faith could truly grant Power, and the Faith of the Hydroxyl Slaves had likewise brought them immense strength.

Hydroxyl Heavy Cavalry was one of their signature troop types. Their bodies were clad in Heavy Armor enchanted with the Power of Faith, and even their warhorses were similarly armored. The Heavy Cavalry was expensive to field, but they were worth every penny. Their combat prowess was immense, and they served as the Vanguard Army—the kind composed of Death Warriors.

Through the eagle’s eyes, Batubohe watched the Hydroxyl Heavy Cavalry charge below. Their warhorses galloped, hooves rumbling against the ground. As they neared the battlefield, the lead Heavy Cavalry Knight drew two Curved Sabers from his waist, raising them high. The charging triangular formation shifted, spreading out to the sides to form a single line. At the same time, all the Knights drew their Curved Sabers and held them level.

The throat-singing grew faster, and the Speed of the Hydroxyl Heavy Cavalry increased. A visible airflow streamed past their flanks, and the image of a spread-winged eagle appeared above their heads!

There were no shouts, no roars, nothing at all. Accompanied only by the thunder of their warhorses, the Hydroxyl Heavy Cavalry plunged into the battlefield.

Bolstered by the force of their charge, their Faith Power, and the Priests’ blessings, their Dual Swords were incomparably sharp and utterly unstoppable. Even the slipstream from their blades was lethal.

Before the Alliance Soldiers could even understand what was happening, the Heavy Cavalry had already swept past them. A sharp blade would flash by, and the rider would continue forward without pause.

"Wha...t..."

"Who?"

The Alliance Soldiers looked around in a daze, muttering to themselves. But when they looked down at their own bodies, they saw a gash slowly appear, from which blood began to gush.

Those hit by the blade’s slipstream suffered massive wounds. Those struck by the blade itself were cleaved in two. Unable to react in time, the Alliance Soldiers fell like harvested wheat. The 5,000 Heavy Cavalry moved as if through an empty field; wherever they passed, the Alliance Army’s men died.

And that was with them holding back, wary of the Undead. Otherwise, they would have killed even more of the Alliance Army.

Li Ziyu stood atop the fortress, staring at the cavalry charging into the distant battlefield, his mind reeling in confusion.

[Private Message]

Don’t Want to Get a Driver’s License: Zhang Peng, are those cavalry the reinforcements you mentioned?

Conscience Merchant: I... think so?

Don’t Want to Get a Driver’s License: Why are you answering me with a question? It’s a simple yes or no.

Conscience Merchant: Then they are! Anyway, they’re helping us, so what’s the point of getting bogged down in details right now?

Don’t Want to Get a Driver’s License: Where did you find these reinforcements? Why didn’t you tell me? These guys are powerful!

Conscience Merchant: Would you believe me if I said I just found them?

Don’t Want to Get a Driver’s License: Forget it. Now’s not the time for this. Let’s talk after the battle is over.

’Just found them? Who are you trying to fool!’

Li Ziyu rolled his eyes and closed the private message window.

Regardless of whether Zhang Peng was willing to talk, the reinforcements were real. The cavalry were clearly targeting the Alliance Army, and they had already wiped out a huge swath of them.

As the battle raged on, the number of Alliance Soldiers was constantly dwindling. For Li Ziyu, the addition of such a fresh and powerful force was a godsend!
