Qin Ruyue’s Heart’s Blood wasn’t a vibrant red, but a dark crimson so deep it was almost black.

The moment this ink-like Heart’s Blood was poured onto the Night-Cutting Spider’s Energy Core, the Deceit Beast’s injuries began to heal at a rate visible to the naked eye.

In an instant, its depleted energy reserves were restored to their peak.

However, the Power of Rules that the Night-Cutting Spider had exhausted was not restored along with its energy.

This time, instead of releasing its spiderlings, the Night-Cutting Spider cast a dense web toward Shi Mi, who was fused with the Centipede Bone Tomb Princess, preparing to finish him off for good.

Qin Ruyue rarely used her Deceit Beast Master talent, Blood Heart Recovery.

But if Zhong Yi died, judging by Starlight City’s willingness to tear up their contract with the Purifying Moon Sect and dispatch Celestial Destiny Seekers from above the Mythical Tier, they would most likely not let her off the hook.

Aside from the Power of Rules, the spiderwebs were the Night-Cutting Spider’s most potent combat tool.

The webs bound the fused form of Shi Mi and the Centipede Bone Tomb Princess. However, the Night-Cutting Spider was, in turn, tightly entangled by Shi Mi’s White Bone Centipede Tail and couldn’t break free for the moment.

He would only need to wait a year or so to re-hatch. By then, this whole affair would have blown over, and no one would even remember him.

What Shi Mi hadn’t expected was that the Night-Cutting Spider’s webs carried a special kind of toxin.

This toxin could paralyze the soul. Once afflicted, neither Guardian Beast Masters nor Deceit Beast Masters could activate their Soul Power.

Under these circumstances, Shi Mi would be unable to use his Deceit Beast Master talent to escape.

The moment he found he couldn’t activate his Soul Base, Shi Mi was thrown into a desperate struggle, like a cornered beast.

’Even if I die, I’ll make sure Qin Ruyue doesn’t get off easy!’

In an instant, the Cores of Resurgence, once filled with Healing Energy, were now surging with Destructive Energy.

Although the energy had been reversed, the effect of the Rule Authority remained unchanged.

The Cores of Destruction didn’t use their own internal Destructive Energy to annihilate the webs.

Instead, they activated the energy contained within the webs themselves, turning it against them to cause a catastrophic self-destruction.

In a flash, the webs spun by the Night-Cutting Spider were utterly obliterated.

Breaking through the four-layered cage, Zhong Yi emerged with a leisurely stroll.

They then activated their Soul Base and summoned the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon.

Upon being summoned, the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon perched obediently on Zhong Yi’s shoulder.

Its eyes lit up as it stared at the Energy Core in Qin Ruyue’s hands, then it looked up at Zhong Yi questioningly.

Zhong Yi could see the intense interest in the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon’s hundreds of pupils.

Without any prompting from Zhong Yi, the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon had already conceived the idea of using a Moon Eyes Flower to form a Contract with the Energy Core.

The Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon could judge with precision whether it was capable of forming a Contract with the Energy Core before it.

The fact that the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon wanted to form a Contract with the Energy Core meant that the Moon Eyes Flower currently blooming upon it was sufficient to control this spider-shaped Bizarre, even one that wielded the Power of Rules.

"Lan Yue, she’s all yours!"

"I need you to take control of this Spider-shaped Deceit Beast’s Energy Core as fast as you can."

"If you can control this Mythical Tier spider-shaped Bizarre, I’ll give you a treat tonight."

Back when Zhong Yi first formed the Soul Taming Seed Contract with the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon, they discovered it loved to drink Flowing Soul Soil.

The Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon’s craving for Flowing Soul Soil far surpassed that of any other Guardian Beast Zhong Yi had formed a Contract with using a Soul Taming Seed.

Flowing Soul Soil had numerous uses, so Zhong Yi couldn’t let the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon drink it whenever it pleased.

However, giving it to the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon as an occasional reward was perfectly fine.
