Chapter 260: Truly, A Radiant Commander
Max estimated that there were a hundred peak Greater Demons running toward him.
And still counting.
Lean demons with elongated limbs, sharp horns, clawed feet, and extremely thin armor burst toward him.
There were an estimated ten lean demons setting their eyes on him.
Max perceived that every Radiant Knight, including those who had already set out, had positioned themselves within the domain of his Radiant Resonance Field.
The effects were immense.
Watching as the lean demons arrived first in his domain in an attempt to kill him, Max only said one word.
"Fiora."
Fiora bowed deeply and unsheathed her rapier.
She then disappeared from her position, and the ten lean demons abruptly halted their pace to face her.
But they reacted a bit too late.
With Theodore and the other Enchanters strengthening Fiora, the latter executed the lean demons one after another.
The last lean demon felt helpless.
For the first time, it was completely terrified.
In the end, it only saw a sheen of gleaming light shining in its face, growing closer, until it saw the world spin.
Fiora’s sheer dominance made the peak Greater Demons wary of her.
At the same time, those Demon Hunters who witnessed her stellar performance felt invigorated.
Their Guildmaster’s Radiant Knights had grown significantly stronger than before.
A single Radiant Knight could annihilate ten peak Greater Demons with unstoppable momentum.
Not even a B-rank Demon Hunter could achieve the same feat.
Of course, they were comparing them to Lancelot, who was likewise utterly surprised.
He stared at Fiora with a dumbstruck expression.
Just as he began to despair, he noticed that Fiora was being enchanted by Max’s Enchanters.
Furthermore, he understood how much stronger Fiora was when commanded by Max.
It was as though Max, being a Summoner, could strengthen his Radiant Knights multiple times more efficiently than Enchanters and tacticians.
Truly, a Radiant Commander.
For a second, Lancelot forgot how monstrously strong Max was in combat as well, rather than just in commanding his forces.
Lancelot did not go idle either.
After spotting Demon Hunters struggling against demons, with some of them already heavily injured, he did not hesitate to disappear toward them to provide aid.
The Greater Demons running toward Max did not hesitate anymore.
Instead, they ran toward Fiora, aiming to kill her first before reaching Max.
They understood that they could not kill Max before Fiora unless they eliminated the latter first.
However, they had forgotten that aside from Fiora, there was another Radiant Knight who had a lethal attack like hers.
Owen.
As Owen drew his bow and pulled the string, he executed his technique, Radiant Deadeye.
He entered a heightened state of concentration, with his accuracy, weak-point visibility, projectile precision, effective range, and armor penetration drastically increased at the cost of his mobility, essentially transforming him into a long-range execution specialist.
In other words, he simply stood frozen to the ground as his arrow brilliantly shone.
Theodore shifted his enchantments toward Owen, stripping Fiora of her enchantments.
He waited for Max’s order.
Max eyed the massive demons covered in naturally occurring black metallic plates.
They carried a large shield and a one-handed hammer.
They were naturally tank-type peak Greater Demons that only Owen could take down.
Max mentally ordered Owen to aim his bow at one of them.
Owen understood.
Through his Radiant Eye, he instantly saw the weak point of the Ironhide Demon, even when it appeared to be fully covered with armor, including a large shield.
He then calculated the distance, comprehended the air movement, and so on...
It only took him an instant to process the information before finally letting go of the string.
But when he did, he did not even wait for the arrow to land before swiftly pulling the string once again to target another Ironhide Demon.
Max saw the arrow pierce through the head of the Ironhide Demon, which was momentarily too late to defend itself from Owen’s swift arrow.
And just as Owen took down an Ironhide Demon, Max heard a swooshing noise one after another.
Within a minute, Owen took down every Ironhide Demon heading in their direction, just as he had completely exhausted himself, his stamina and mana depleted.
But Max, with the help of the Alchemists from the Demon Hunters Guild, had mana and stamina potions prepared for his Radiant Knights.
When Owen received an order to consume the mana and stamina potions, he did not hesitate and felt his strength returning.
He then narrowed his gaze after noticing Ironhide Demons in the far distance, about to break through to the frontline.
Max noticed where he was staring and ordered, "Take them down if you can."
Owen confidently replied, "Distance doesn’t matter to me."
Just as he aimed at the Ironhide Demon, he was surprised when an arrow like a shooting star curved through the air and successfully penetrated a vulnerable part of an Ironhide Demon, killing it instantly.
He immediately searched for the origin of the arrow and saw a Ranger covered with mist, like an astral projection.
She appeared to be a Ranger from another distant universe.
Owen watched as her arrows appeared to be falling-star arrows that could either be concentrated or scattered to kill numerous demons.
The astral mist made her inconspicuous, causing the demons to be unable to track her.
Furthermore, every arrow could not be missed.
Owen admitted that the woman was as strong as him, invigorating him.
He had not encountered a Ranger who could defeat him when it came to killing enemies from such a far distance.
The woman’s arrows did not appear to be obstructed by the air, much less bothered by distance.
Only Owen could achieve it.
Interesting.
He was lost in his own thoughts, which Max naturally noticed.
He glanced in the direction Owen was staring and immediately understood that it was Rhayne who had caught Owen’s attention.
Rhayne’s performance did not appear to be as stellar as Owen’s.
With her arrows in the night, they merely appeared to be shooting stars that could not last for more than a few seconds, whereas Owen’s arrows were more like brilliant shining stars that remained long enough to pierce through demons.
Either way, Rhayne’s presence was naturally a big help in the war, and Max could not deny it.
He did not linger on her for long and ordered Owen to continue taking down demons, focusing on the Greater Demons that seemed to have grown in number, seemingly determined to take him down.
