True Apocalypse Game

Chapter 297 278: Cthulhu (2)

The two men walked up to Martin Benitez and began to search him.

They also noticed the wound on Martin Benitez's hand but didn't ask a thing, as if they hadn't seen it.

Shen Feng was also searched.

Finding nothing on them, the two men took out two robes and tossed them to Shen Feng and Martin Benitez, gesturing for them to change.

After they had changed, the men produced two black blindfolds and made a gesture of invitation.

Martin Benitez and Shen Feng took a step forward. The men immediately put the blindfolds on them and even plugged their ears with earplugs, completely blocking their sight and hearing.

Then, their hands were tied securely. They felt a tug and were led down the hillside.

Shen Feng could feel that Martin Benitez's heartbeat and breathing were relatively stable. 'This must be standard procedure,' he realized.

The steps were uneven, and the two stumbled along as they were led downward, blindfolded. However, the two men guiding them were considerate enough to stop from time to time to steady them.

Once they were down the hill, they began walking through a dense forest.

There was a path, but it was extremely muddy and humid, and they occasionally kicked stones hidden in the earth.

After walking for nearly half an hour, the mud underfoot gave way to a path paved with stone.

A faint, flickering light became visible, seemingly from a fire.

They could also smell a hint of smoke in the air.

This time, they seemed to be stumbling through a maze of walls, making many twists and turns.

Finally, after another half an hour, it seemed they had passed through a labyrinth. The two men leading them stopped.

Then came the sound of other footsteps. Several people approached Shen Feng and Martin Benitez and began removing their earplugs, untying their hands, and finally, taking off their blindfolds.

As light flooded their vision, both men, having been in darkness for so long, took a moment for their eyes to adjust, blinking rapidly.

Shen Feng blinked, simultaneously taking in his surroundings.

They were inside an ancient structure.

Judging from the surrounding decorations and stone walls, it appeared to be a structure from the Ancient Inca Civilization.

The most famous Inca Civilization ruin in the Colombia Region is Pereida City, as renowned as Machu Picchu in Peru. However, that site had been developed into a tourist attraction; this was clearly not Pereida City.

The Colombia region historically had hundreds of Inca city-states. Who knew how many ruins from the Inca Civilization were still hidden in these dense forests? This had to be one of them.

At the same time, Shen Feng glanced up at the building's dome and saw a spider-like emblem.

'Spider Nest City.'

This place clearly had some connection to the Spider Nest City in Mexico City.

The entire structure was lit not by electric lights, but by torches and oil lamps. The flames danced with a specific rhythm, creating an exceptionally eerie atmosphere.

Directly in front of them was a massive sunstone mural and a humanoid statue.

Below the stone mural was a bonfire. A man in a robe sat before it, occasionally poking the embers with a wooden stick.

From behind, the man had curly hair, was slightly overweight, and appeared to be in his sixties or seventies.

The moment Martin Benitez saw the man's back, his entire body trembled violently, as if overwhelmed by the man's powerful aura. He then turned to look at Shen Feng beside him and seemed to relax with a sense of resignation.

'It seemed nothing mattered anymore.'

Then, a deep, magnetic voice came from the figure in front of them:

"You were not summoned. Why have you come? Who wounded you?"

Martin Benitez shuddered and quickly replied:

"Boss, I... I came here to... to report something to you... As for the wound... I was ambushed by the Colombian military police. I was injured, but I killed many of them."

"Those government people still dare to cause trouble? Tell Marshall that if he no longer wishes to be Attorney General, I can have him replaced." The voice from the shadowy figure was rhythmic and melodic. It sounded gentle, almost instilling a sense of warmth in the listener. He then asked, "Why have you come to see me? Has the eight hundred million dollars from the Mexico Sinaloa Group been cleaned yet?"

Martin Benitez trembled and continued:

"That's... that's what this is about. The Eagle Country's DEA suddenly got involved. They seized the eight hundred million dollars in cash, along with a shipment. Our submarine was discovered... but they haven't found the money yet. What should we do? I followed your orders and tried to contact Cheney, the President pro tempore of the Eagle Country Senate, but I couldn't reach him. Later, I saw the news that he was missing..."

The sound of the wind, the crackling of the firewood, the man's voice, and the flickering light and shadows all blended together. Suddenly, Martin Benitez felt his resolve hardening.

'This sound, this light... it seemed to be giving him strength.'

'The thought of betraying Mr. Pablo was a disgrace. Everything I have, Pablo gave me. I should be willing to lay down my life for Mr. Pablo!'

A rush of hot-blooded loyalty surged through him. He suddenly whirled around, pointed at Shen Feng, and yelled at the figure before the fire:

"Mr. Pablo, be careful! This man is here to get revenge on you! He's one of Ye Zhenli's subordinates! He forced me to bring him here!"

'I must be loyal to Mr. Pablo, even if it means death!'

The words had barely left his mouth when a group of heavily armed men rushed out from the surrounding darkness, aiming their weapons at Shen Feng.

At the same time, a heavy alloy cage dropped from above, trapping Shen Feng inside.

The cage was so heavy that its impact left a deep indentation in the stone floor.

An ordinary person would have had no chance of escape.

The figure before the fire slowly turned around. He had a slightly pudgy face with a mustache and a wicked, cryptic smile. It was none other than the Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, who had been declared dead for over twenty years!

Although he looked much older, he still had a commanding presence—cunning, wicked, like the Devil incarnate.

His gaze was calm as he looked at Shen Feng, as if looking at a dead man.

Shen Feng let out a dry laugh.

"Mr. Pablo, hello. A pleasure to finally meet you. Should I call you Pablo... or... Cthulhu?"
