True Apocalypse Game

Chapter 245 - 234: We Finally Meet

Shuanghu Town wasn’t far from Grand Rapids. Perhaps that was why the Purification Society had established a base here.

Having received the Nanomechanical Cluster Battle Armor from Shen Feng, the three police officers could barely contain their excitement.

Thinking about what the children beside them had suffered, they were eager to bring Cheney to justice immediately.

The three of them, along with Shen Feng, escorted the six children out of the deathly silent underground laboratory. They settled the kids in one of Joe’s safehouses and prepared to depart.

The safehouse was hidden in a grove of trees by a small lake. It was Joe’s secret base, his personal fishing paradise, and a place no one usually ever came to.

Just then, Shen Feng felt a sudden tightness on his leg. The little girl named Martha, the one who had drawn his death sketch, had come up and hugged his leg, refusing to let him leave.

The little girl had autism. With eyes that shimmered like stars, she looked up at Shen Feng and suddenly spoke:

"Don’t leave..."

Shen Feng paused, then gave a slight smile. He bent down, stroked Martha’s hair, and said:

"I’m going to catch the bad guys now. I’ll be back soon."

Looking at this angelic little girl and thinking of the abuse she had endured, Shen Feng felt a warmth in his heart, but his loathing for the Purification Society only deepened.

But Martha seemed not to hear him. She just kept clinging tightly to his leg, repeating over and over:

"Don’t leave... don’t leave... don’t leave..."

Shen Feng patiently knelt down and gently pried Martha’s small hands off him. He gave her a hug, then made a pinky promise with her.

"Don’t worry, I will come back."

He then closed the door, making sure the children wouldn’t wander out of the house. Only then did he turn and get into the car, speeding off with the three officers toward Grand Rapids.

Martha stood expressionlessly at the door, watching Shen Feng leave and murmuring, "Don’t leave... don’t leave..."

Once Shen Feng had vanished from sight, Martha suddenly turned and ran to the bedroom. She found a piece of paper and a pen and began to draw furiously.

Soon, the image of a young man with a savage grin appeared on the paper. It was Shen Feng.

In the drawing, Shen Feng was surrounded by a wave-like Gray Tide, along with some other faint outlines.

Martha kept drawing, relentlessly adding details and expanding the scene to reveal the surroundings. What she was drawing looked like a catastrophe...

About an hour later, the police car carrying Shen Feng and the others arrived at a fork in the road not far from Grand Rapids.

The police car swerved sharply onto the road leading away from Grand Rapids. Their destination was a villa complex nestled in the dense forest on the shores of Lake Superior.

Maple Leaf Castle.

The road was quiet and remote; they barely encountered any other vehicles.

Aili, who was driving, cranked up the stereo. The song "Something Just Like This" was blasting from the speakers:

"...I’m not looking for somebody

With some superhuman gifts

...

Just something I can turn to

Somebody I can kiss

I want something just like this..."

Joe and the other two officers had calm expressions, but their hearts were turbulent.

Sitting beside them was the legendary and mysterious "Savior."

And they were about to fight alongside this Transcendent.

It was a scenario they wouldn’t have dared to dream of, and it was happening to them right now.

After a brief conversation, they had already concluded that the silvery-gray battle armor was some kind of exoskeleton that provided immense defense and strength.

The same principle as Iron Man’s Nanomechanical Battle Armor!

Yet, a part of them felt just as the song described—all they wanted was their old, ordinary lives back.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown. They now understood just how many terrifying secrets lurked in the darkness.

On the other hand, the hot blood pumping through their veins was boiling, making it impossible for them to sit still. They wanted to cut through all obstacles and achieve something great.

This internal conflict continued until they were approaching a dense forest.

Then, the "Savior" spoke in a low voice:

"Stop the car. Two hundred meters ahead... I can hear a child screaming."

That last sentence instantly ignited the fury of the three heavily armored police officers.

’Those goddamn bastards! They caught other children, too!’

Then, the "Savior" seemed to freeze for a moment, all his movements ceasing as if he had zoned out. A few seconds later, he snapped back to reality and said:

"There are seventy-eight people in the villa complex. Fifty guards are patrolling outside, all equipped with automatic rifles and submachine guns. Some of them are from the Special Service Bureau.

Inside, there are twenty-eight people, all gathered in the main building. Eighteen of them are children... and there are many children’s bodies in the rooms."

Hearing the "Savior’s" words, Joe and the others said nothing, merely tightening their grips on their guns.

The silvery-gray battle armor had already spread rapidly across their bodies, transforming them into three black-clad gods of death.

The three of them turned to Shen Feng in unison, awaiting his command.

Shen Feng nodded, and said:

"Go, but don’t kill Cheney just yet."

The moment he finished speaking, the three heavily armored officers charged toward the villa complex in the forest like a gust of wind.

Having suppressed their rage for so long, they now needed an outlet. They needed to unleash their power on that child-abusing scum!

At the same time, they discovered that the silvery-gray battle armor they wore had instantly boosted their strength by several orders of magnitude, truly turning them into supermen of a sort!

Shen Feng got out of the car. Hands in his pockets, he whistled a tune as he strolled slowly toward Maple Leaf Castle in the dense forest.

They were surrounded by a vast maple forest. Red and yellow leaves swayed in the cold wind, carpeting the ground in fiery colors.

RAT-A-TAT-TAT...

BANG! BANG!

"What is that thing?!"

"Intruders!"

Gunfire erupted not far ahead, followed by screams and shouts.

There was even the sound of bones snapping and being crushed underfoot—likely the work of the fiery officer, Aili.

The gunfire was sparse at first, then intensified, only to become sparse once more.

With these three helpers, Shen Feng barely had to lift a finger.

He was suddenly reminded of his previous plan: to use a weakened version of the Pangu Virus to genetically enhance some of the most loyal and reliable Salvation Army Warriors, giving them Silicon-Based Brains or even greater powers.

He could even distribute Nanomechanical Clusters to the Salvation Army Warriors as rewards, either as a means of self-preservation or simply as a powerful weapon.

All it would take was a super-high-level auxiliary administrator permission.

Shen Feng didn’t need to do everything himself; he just had to operate from behind the scenes.

It seemed this plan should be implemented as soon as possible. It would free him up from many matters.

After all, the true counterpart to the Purification Society was the Salvation Army, not him alone.

Lost in thought, Shen Feng arrived at the entrance of the massive villa.

In the courtyard before the villa, dozens of heavily armed men in black—the guards—lay scattered about.

Joe, Thomas, and Aili, clad in their Nanomechanical Battle Armor, came to Shen Feng’s side, breathing heavily.

Their Nanomechanical Battle Armor was now heavily damaged, and their bodies were covered in bruises and wounds.

After all, even this basic model of Nanomechanical Battle Armor couldn’t withstand sustained, close-range attacks from automatic rifles and Shotguns for too long.

But despite their injuries, their expressions were even more excited, their eyes shining brighter.

This feeling of savage power was just too exhilarating!

And the way Joe and the others looked at the "Savior" had become more reverent, even bordering on fanatical worship!

At the same time, as they drew near Shen Feng, their damaged Nanomechanical Battle Armor began to repair itself rapidly. In the blink of an eye, it was as good as new, once again enveloping their bodies securely.

Without waiting for Shen Feng’s command, the three of them stepped forward, blasted the villa’s main doors open, and were the first to enter.

RAT-A-TAT-TAT!

WHOOSH...

A hail of bullets rained down on them, and there was even an RPG rocket trailing a fiery plume!

The three of them froze, a chill running down their spines.

They had just learned the limits of this Nanomechanical Battle Armor; it definitely couldn’t withstand a direct hit from a rocket!

Suddenly, a gray, wave-like mass surged up from behind them. It lunged at the rocket in mid-air, instantly enveloping it and turning it into a gray metal clump.

The next moment, with a muffled THUMP, the Gray Tide swelled violently before contracting again, swallowing the explosion.

Realizing the "Savior" had saved them from that close call, Aili broke out in a cold sweat. In a flash, she rushed to the man who had fired the rocket and, with her hands like swords, plunged them straight into his chest, piercing through his body!

Just then, the man gave a strange smile and opened his hands to reveal two grenade pins.

With a deafening BOOM, he exploded into a cloud of blood and gore, sending Aili flying!

Joe and Thomas, who were charging the remaining enemies, were horrified by the sight. They immediately rushed to help Aili, only breathing a sigh of relief when they saw she wasn’t seriously injured.

There were still seven uniformed people in the hall, pointing their guns at them from various corners.

Seeing their uniforms, Joe’s brow furrowed. He said grimly, "They’re from the Special Service Bureau... those parasites!"

Just then, a laugh echoed from the depths of the villa. A door at the back of the hall slowly swung open, and a voice drifted out:

"Antichrist, or should I say... Mr. Savior. Please, come in. We finally meet..."
