Chapter 293 - 116: Spacetime Projection, Immortal Skill (2)
If this went on, his life would be in danger!
With no time to overthink it, Director Li quickly produced a small blue bottle. He opened it, glanced at the liquid inside, and a pained look flashed across his face.
Then, Director Li quickly fed the liquid to Chen Yu.
After waiting a few seconds, he checked on Chen Yu once more.
"Hmm? How is this possible? It’s still draining away?!" Director Li’s eyes widened after a careful inspection.
Chen Yu’s body was like a funnel, the sands of his life continuously draining away.
Even the potion couldn’t stop it.
VMMMM—!
Injecting a stream of Qi, Director Li rose to his feet. His Superpower erupted, scooping up the four unconscious people and swiftly carrying them off the island.
...
In a daze, Chen Yu opened his eyes.
He looked confused and stared blankly for a good while before finally coming to his senses.
’I should be in the South Sea’s Tenth Abyss, fighting that level-nine skeleton...’
Fragmented memories surfaced, quickly coalescing into a coherent whole.
Chen Yu was suddenly wide awake.
His memory served him right: he had been in the Abyss, fighting a level-nine Undead Skeleton.
In the end, he was outmatched and had no choice but to play his trump card: God’s Will.
’As for what happened after that...’
’Where is this?’
Looking around, Chen Yu saw he was in what appeared to be a private hospital room.
’Did I pass out again...? Looks like I still can’t handle the toll of God’s Will.’
Sensing his surroundings with his Force Field, Chen Yu confirmed he was in a hospital and sighed to himself.
’No doubt it’s the same situation as before.’
The excessive drain from using God’s Will had knocked him into a coma.
’But I could remain conscious when I used it before. Why would using it after it was upgraded make me pass out?’
’The Skill hasn’t changed at all!’
Chen Yu was baffled.
But he didn’t dwell on it. What was done was done, and there was no point dwelling on it.
He carefully checked his body. His vitality was still just as depleted as before.
However, he wasn’t so weak that he couldn’t move. In fact, it seemed his recuperation was nearly complete; his vitality had recovered to about one-third of its peak.
His Qi, on the other hand, had not been significantly consumed and was already back to its peak.
Given the circumstances, he’d probably been unconscious for a while.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Chen Yu looked at the metal bracelet on his wrist, then scanned the room. "Sophie," he asked, "how long was I unconscious?"
"Sir, your period of unconsciousness this time was quite long. You have been in a coma for one full month."
Sophie’s voice replied.
What?
’Unconscious for a month?’
Hearing Sophie’s reply, Chen Yu froze.
’I was unconscious for that long?’
’A whole month...’
’With my current physical constitution, God’s Will has such a massive drain?!’
’Could it be that something unexpected happened when I used God’s Will?’
Chen Yu lowered his head, lost in thought.
With a flicker of his thoughts, he summoned his interface to take a look.
’One billion!!!’
Seeing the amount of Source of Life, Chen Yu’s eyes instantly brightened.
’Looks like that level-nine skeleton provided quite a haul...’
With one billion Source of Life, he finally had enough for a major upgrade.
It would be no problem to max out at least two Skills.
’He might even be able to awaken one!’
The difference between an awakened Skill and an unawakened one was huge.
Just as Chen Yu was about to spend his Source of Life on upgrades, the door suddenly opened. He immediately froze.
A doctor in a white coat walked in, followed by a nurse.
"Hmm?"
"You’re awake! That’s great!"
Seeing Chen Yu awake in bed, the bald doctor stepped forward, his face beaming with delight.
"Hello, Mr. Chen Yu. I’m the doctor assigned to your case. Now that you’re awake, it’s standard procedure to perform a check-up for your own safety."
The bald doctor said, looking at Chen Yu.
"Alright. Go ahead," Chen Yu nodded.
The bald doctor then took out an instrument and gave Chen Yu a head-to-toe examination. Once he confirmed that everything was fine, he left.
Afterward, they brought Chen Yu a nutritious meal. After eating, Chen Yu recovered much of his Spirit, Essence, and Qi.
Watching the doctor and nurse leave, Chen Yu lay back on the bed and summoned his interface again.
’Source of Life: Just over one billion.’
’But I still have three Skills that haven’t reached max level.’
’God’s Will, Destructive Celestial Light, and Lord of the Undead!’
’If I upgrade God’s Will, that’s all I can afford. It’s better to max out the other two Skills first. That way, I should be able to awaken another one.’
After a moment of thought, Chen Yu decided to upgrade the other two Skills first.
’God’s Will needs six hundred million!’
’If I upgrade that one, I won’t be able to upgrade the other two.’
’The main thing is, I also want to awaken a Skill!’
Without further hesitation, Chen Yu chose to upgrade the first Skill: Destructive Celestial Light!
In the Chaos, a sphere of light shining like a star began to expand. A faint glow appeared on Chen Yu’s skin, though it was barely noticeable beneath his clothes.
A moment later, a line of text materialized before his eyes.
[Congratulations! Skill upgraded to max level. You have obtained: 50 Skill Points!]
[Epic Skill upgraded to max level. You have received an additional reward: 100!]
’One hundred and fifty...’
A look of joy spread across Chen Yu’s face as he read the text.
One hundred and fifty Skill Points.
’Epic Skills really deliver!’
That was nearly double the Skill Points that Biological Force Field gave.
Calming himself, Chen Yu proceeded to upgrade his Lord of the Undead Skill.
