Apocalypse Escape: Day One of Survival

"I’ll seal this big guy inside a Space. You just focus on blasting it with lightning."

A constant stream of superpower energy surged from Xie Ning’s hands, forming four invisible, formless Space walls.

"When I say go, just jump up and run. Keep going up." Xie Ning flipped her palm down and glanced at Gu Chen.

"Smash it!"

Comrade Gu didn’t hesitate, unleashing a desperate barrage of lightning in the direction his girlfriend had indicated with her eyes.

The CRACKLE of electric sparks, accompanied by the howls of the surrounding zombies, wove together into a perfect symphony.

With a raise of Xie Ning’s hand, four invisible Space walls shot up from the ground, standing tall around the mutant plant.

After Gu Chen finished his frantic barrage of lightning, he quickly started running upward.

As he lifted his leg, he realized his girlfriend had laid out a path to the heavens, just like building a staircase.

Although he couldn’t see the transparent staircase, his Superpower Rank was similar to Xie Ning’s, so he could faintly sense the fluctuating power of the superpower beneath his feet.

The sight of him climbing straight up left the group of people setting fires on the small platform completely stunned.

"Whoa, my brother looks like he’s climbing a stairway to heaven."

"Yeah, yeah, that’s just too bizarre."

"You can’t see the stairs at all, but he’s running right up them."

"You young comrades are so brave," the middle-aged Fire Element woman said with emotion. "If it were me, my legs would turn to jelly!"

As they spoke, the group chugged the Energy Supplement Potions provided by the base, continuously unleashing more fire onto the battlefield.

Xie Ning slammed her palm downward, sealing the massive, blocky mutant plant within the Space walls. Her face turned a little pale.

Others didn’t know what a huge move she had just pulled off, but she herself knew best.

"Run!" Bounding up the transparent steps in just a few leaps, Xie Ning grabbed Gu Chen by the waist and took to the air with him again.

Gu Chen quickly pulled out a vial and held it to her lips. "This is a Concentrated Energy Replenishment Potion. Drink it, quickly."

Xie Ning took a sip, then flew rapidly to the small platform while holding onto Gu Chen.

After landing, she roared at the crowd, "Run! Follow me and run!"

Amid the chaos, Ji Taixian grabbed Song Kexin’s arm and took off in a dead sprint, following the others.

Fortunately, Ji Taixian held onto her hand the entire time, practically half-dragging, half-pulling her along as they ran.

Just as the two of them reached the edge of the city wall, a single step away, the Space Blade platform below shattered with a BOOM.

Ji Taixian swept up the wide-eyed Song Kexin, leaped up from the ground, stomped twice in mid-air, and landed directly on the edge of the city wall, where he stumbled and was pulled in by outstretched hands.

Lu Wei spun around, and a wood vine shot out with a SWISH, wrapping directly around the waists of two Fire Ability Users behind him.

Her eyes sparkled as she stared at him. Ji Taixian’s frantic, fluttering heart inexplicably calmed down under her gaze.

He couldn’t help but chuckle and beckoned her closer.

Song Kexin foolishly squatted down. "Xiao Xian..."

Ji Taixian pulled her into his arms and gave her cheek a loud SMOOCH. "Calling me ’Xiao Xian, Xiao Xian’ all the time... you picked up that bad habit from your sister."

Just then, a voice cut in, spoiling the mood. "Hey, hey, hey! Watch yourselves, show some decency."

Ji Taixian shot a disdainful look at Li Dawei and sneered, "What are you, the police?"

’Always sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong!’

"How is everyone? Is everyone okay?" Lu Wei calmed himself and turned to look at the circle of Fire and Wood Element Superpower Users around him.

"We’re okay, we’re okay."

"Aiya, that scared the daylights out of me! How did that platform just go BANG and explode?"

"Ningning." Gu Chen supported the swaying Xie Ning, half-helping, half-carrying her to the side.

Ji Taixian quickly gave up the stone block for Xie Ning to sit on.

Cres ran over. "Woman, you’d better not die!"

Xie Ning’s head was splitting, and she didn’t want to talk. She glanced at the little brat and rolled her eyes at him.

Gu Chen had her lean against him and offered the Concentrated Energy Replenishment Potion again. "Drink some more, Ningning."

"Don’t get too close to the wall. Everyone, come over here!" Xie Ning fought through her discomfort and waved to the crowd. "Have them all come over."

Although Lu Wei and his group didn’t understand why, they obediently gathered around.

At the same time, a muffled THUD erupted from the center of the zombie horde below.
