Chapter 98: Caught You
’Danger’
It is the only thing that the Island Orca’s mind is screaming as it watches the bipedal figure descending from the skies seemingly intending to meet itself, such movement prompting the titanic monster to attack more and more frequently than before, hoping that one of its invisible attacks might slip past its opponent’s defenses and cut through its body.
Had it known that the opponent it is currently facing in fact, receives the brunt of the first attack it did, and recovered from practically a few bits of flesh remaining within just a matter of a few moments, the monster would’ve started planning immediate escape, however, thinking that the only thing that allows the human above it to survive up until now is his versatility, the monster thought confidently that it is only a matter of time before he can start counterattacking once again.
’This great one only needs to hold on for a while more... that human won’t have infinite amount of skill, he’s bound to be exhausted sooner or later...’ taking pride on its own monstrous stamina and endurance, the Island Orca thought to itself as it tries creating even more attack, slowing Azrael on his way towards the monster, the near imperceptibility of the attack making it so that even the young man in this form, needs to be careful of everything.
’This whale’s stats probably raise with that transformation as well...’ on the other hand, feeling the increasing intensity of each attacks that is coming his way, Azrael thought to himself as once again, fends off another near imperceptible strike heading his way, the smile on his face apparent as more and more, he is starting to enjoy the fight between him and the Island Orca.
After all, it isn’t every day that he can train himself to go against attacks such as this one, where there’s nothing that he can rely on other than his own sixth sense to parry the blows aimed to end his practically immortal life, and everything new is bound to be a fun, training experience for him.
Which is exactly what is happening as along with relying on his sharp senses to anticipate and predict where the attacks will come from and where it is headed, the young man is also using some of his skills in order to gather even more information about the nature of these attacks, the smile on his face getting brighter as time goes by, along with it his mastery on defending against such attack, whether it is skill or not, increases significantly as well.
With each swing of the sword tainted by a bloody red and a night black aura surging around it, each of the invisible slashes coming from the Island Orca is being cut into two pieces, rendering it useless as the fight continues, the sword on its opponent’s hands moving faster and faster while it tries to increase the intensity of the attack, almost as if this young man is still holding back and just matching its strength right now.
